    Dunno how people didn't expect this when we knew several walk ons and kids who transfered UP from the FCS would be getting major pt/starting. The writing was on the wall but the usual screeching harpies have ignored it. Welcome to year zero, whether you like it/accept is irrelevant because this is the reality of what this roster is....

    Smooth brains won't listen, but this is where we are at coming into this season. This rebuild was ALWAYS going to take 3-4 seasons... CCS ran off basically a whole recruiting class and wasn't exactly lighting it up on the trail. This roster needs a complete overhaul and no matter how much some want that, it will take years.

    My guess is it's McCloud and Johnson 1 and 2 respectively now

    I think you narrow it down down to McCloud and Fortin and figure it out after the ECU game. Both should get extended playing time the you roll with who steps up the rest of the way unless that guy face plants. Johnson should be mixed in as a wildcat change of pace and you redshirt Marsh/get him garbage time reps.

    Our entire starting offense has yet to start a game, including 2 against top 15 teams. Let's settle down a bit

    We have yet to have the full 1st team offense and out there for a game. We're getting a lot of young guys experience right now but we need to get our best guys out there and let those units gel.

    People forget that the mental side of the position is far more important than the physical tools. Make the wrong reads/be slow in your reads/getting the ball out and all you are left with is throwing high velocity, spiral, interceptions/incompletions. Woulard had all the physical tools too and we saw how that worked out when he didn't have it up stairs. I hope Fortin will be the savior but, he didn't run away with the job and with what we've seen out of the other two so far that isn't encouraging. Fingers crossed though

    Also just wanted to stop in to say I wouldn't count on Fortin to come in and be head and shoulders above the other 2 . Kids transfer for a reason and anyone can look "impressive" on a highlight film, you know, because they're highlights. Hopefully he's the guy but I wouldn't be shocked if we see a similar quality of QB play with Fortin back there as we did with the others. Lets also not forget the QB battle was close for all camp and if Fortin really is what some here make him out to be it would have been a run away and not a battle.

    Hopefully Fortin shows us something significantly better than the other two or this could be an ugly, ugly season.

    Gotta rebuild both lines and hopefully develop what we have in the QB room now (Smith Marsh) and hang onto to our current QB verbals. Beyond that most of what's missing has been player development via coaching and the S&C program. The CCS era is about the only time in my Fandom that I can't recall a single player showing significant improvement physically as well as a player. CJL and CWT especially showed this, Skip too to an extent, but the CCS era was a dead zone of player development. It doesn't matter what you recruit if you can't coach em or build em up physically.

    A great route runner who is deceptively fast. A real gritty gym rat.

    Yeah, we may have to bite the bullet and just read option this year if Fortin can't give us anything passing the ball. He's also going to have some mobility to survive this line.

    The Battle in Camp Between McCloud, Johnson, and Fortin was close from all reports. I'm not holding my breath that Fortin is a savior because if he couldn't beat the other two....

    Rebuilding both lines is probably more important. We are bad at the LOS on both sides of the ball.
