  1. oh well. good luck to him, because I think we have a great coaching staff without him.
  2. Hum...nah. I'm just pointing out that, by your own word, you should probably already not be a fan of USF sports. If you don't want to listen to me or yourself, then great, be a fan of USF sports. Glad to have any and all "fans."
  3. You can't talk if you aren't showing up. I am none of those, and I will be there. I thought you were against fallacies.
  4. When do the gates open? I want my free shirt. I've heard it's an hour before the game, so 6? Is there going to be a line for that?
  5. In 1994 the Bucs were coming off of averaging less than 50,000 fans a game, near the bottom of the NFL. There was talk about the viability of professional football in Tampa and ever conversations about moving the team to Orlando/Osceola County if a new stadoum deal wasn't reached. I think you would have been crazy to say Tampa was a football city at the time. In fact I think most the excuses center around the fact that more people had interest in the college game (namely UF and FSU). In 1999-2000 there were discussions as to whether Tampa was a hockey town, they couldn't give away tickets to games at the Ice Palace. Many were discussing the long term viability of hockey in Tampa, the team was coming off several disappointing seasons and hockey in Florida was hurting. Flash ahead and right now the Lightning are THIRD in hockey attendance with almost 100% sellouts nightly. Tampa wasn't a hockey town then, but for some reason it is now... There is no doubt in my mind that a winning basketball team would draw well in Tampa. I'm not saying sellouts nightly, but well. To suggest that it cannot because a team that is 55-87 the last 5 years isn't drawing well is ignorant. stop it, joe, you are making too much sense. usfmikeB won't be able to live with himself if he finally figures out he doesn't know everything about tampa and every one of its' athletic teams.
  6. What a whiner. Here, I'll give you the same line that your fellow ignorant darksiders give everyone that is tired of seeing the same old posts over and over and over agains: If you don't like my posts, don't read them. Reality is that Tampa has never supported bball, even when a winner is in town, thus, Tampa is not a bball town. You don't like that? TOO BAD. I'm here for reality, you must be part of the "if" crowd, so mosey on over to UCiF where you belong. You have no clue buddy... so true, but he'll just say: "what a fallacy"
  7. Not true. The NBA when granting franchise expansion in the mid80s was approached by Tampa. They left the game early because Orlando was offering much more to the NBA (including exclusivity in the market), Tampa took the arena sport idea to the NHL thereafter. I suppose under your theory Kansas City isn't much of a basketball city either (even though it's hosted the most final fours...) I think that basketball isn't prioritized in Tampa because their are no winning basketball teams here (and sorry the women's example isn't very good). Tampa wasn't much of a football town until 1996. Tampa also wasn't much of a hockey town (averaging 11,000 in 99) until 2004. We all know Tampa isn't much of a baseball town either under the MikeB theory. Magically winning has cured 2 of these... No doubt in my mind a winning team would bring big crowds... Now...Huggy...Guys IT WASN'T HAPPENING. He was NEVER coming because we don't have 1.2 Million Dollars lying around to pay the guy. So this whole thread is moot. great post. thank you. as for huggy: we could have made up a lot of the money had we had the success that he's having this year at k-state, but oh well. he's not here so whatever.
  8. Another apples to oranges comparison, you guys are just full of them! Are you really trying to tell me that Tampa is a bball town because the Tourney has been hosted here? That is fricking HILARIOUS! EVERY city wants to host the tourney, just like every city wants to host the Superbowl, just like every city wants to host the All-Star game. The NCAA loves to do it in Florida because of the weather. Tampa happens to be a great spot for them to use. It certainly isn't because tampa supports college basketball, that's hilarious. Keep those fallacies coming... good lord. since you are the one and only truth, just list all the cities that host that aren't basketball towns.
  9. well, k-state is 4th in the big 12 at 8-4 (2 games up on tied-for-5th, 6-6 texas tech, coached by a legend), so the odds aren't terrible.
  10. Please....if the Magic moved to Tampa they would draw around the same number of fans. Check their preseason game attendance records at the forum. You're telling me thast you know more than the NBA? The NBA was wrong to not seek to put a team in Tampa. I love it, you guys are just too funny. Tampa ain't a bball town, deal with it. There are plenty of professional teams that don't get the support they could have if they moved to a different city, but to suggest you know the interest of all of Tampa regarding basketball is ridiculous. it is entirely possible just as many fans would go to games here. the marlins hardly get fans to go to a team that won 2 world series (more than the braves), yet they seem to have good basketball attendance. shaq and wade sell tickets. the magic would have better ticket sales if their team was better and had a star player. all tampa would need is a team with star power or a successful program. if USF was having success most people on campus would start going. you know how big march madness is...if only we participated...
  11. you do claim darksiders have no knowledge of basketball, and that is on the list. you claim to be the end-all source of truth when it comes to USF sports, and that is even worse. there are much worse things you do as well, but whatever. as for me, I don't care who has respect for a losing coach. we'll see what happens the next few games and then the off-season. there really is not more need for debate considering the season is over (virtually) and like people keep saying, it is up to AD Woolard.
  12. 23 straight losses at home against kansas, yet they are up 1 at halftime. interesting game.
  13. No help needed for that, the darksiders have looked like circle jerkers since before the season started. CONGRATS DARKSIDERS!!! We did it! We achieved our goal. Circle Jerkers. (clapping) WHOOO HOOO Man I wish a certain someone would just shut up.
  14. As I have stated before, I don't give a hoot what Windbane or anyone else choses to do with their money and time, but if the program choses to reward those who commit felonies with scholarships then they will no longer see any of my money or my butt in the stadium. There is life without football. Have a nice day. We probably already have someone on the team that got the charge dropped or something. Just go ahead and quit being a fan now.
  15. Oh, how people do it is because the basketball team sucks and there needs to be some changes.
  16. USFMikeB is a terrible fan that calls for people to kill themselves because they disagree with him.
  17. Why would you vote for a number that is higher than we alraedy know? why would you predict that more players will lose their spot on the team? I'm not "crucifying" anybody, I simply disagree with the vote and the people that voted for more than 1 and the people that CALLED OUT PLAYERS. I understand you were not the one making analogies, I was saying here is another one. You did not find Bulliever's good enough for you so I offered another. If you don't agree with the poll, why do you vote for players and then call them out? I DO READ EVERYTHING YOU FREAKING WRITE BECAUSE I HAVE TO KEEP RESPONDING TO IT. Stop saying I don't. I think it is you that doesn't understand my point. It sucked losing Ponton LAST YEAR. As far as I know he hasn't done anything this year. It is insulting to the team to have the poll to begin with, but it also insulting to the team to vote for a number higher than already confirmed. It is also a big insult to individuals to call them out as being prospects for being kicked off due to team rules or any other reason. That is my point.
  18. again, CJL did nothing here. It is the school/team policy for a 3rd failed test. Are people applauding CJL for not somehow covering the positive test up? Does that happen? That is the only reason I can think of for why people keep saying it is the coaches doing (even if he set up the rule it is not up to him to enforce it, it is automatic). The rule was set and it was broken. There is nothing for him to do.
  19. I'm very sorry you don't see the wrong in calling out players as some that might break the rules to get themselves kicked off the team (because of established rules, no one is kicking them off, it is solely their fault if it happens). I've gotten a speeding ticket before. That is breaking the law and probably has potentially worse consequences for other people than smoking pot (as far as dangerous to them, team impact not being considered). Here's an analogous situation: if someone was to go on a board and state that I'm due to get a another speeding ticket any second that will suspend my license right after a friend of mine did the same thing, I would be more than insulted. Why do you insult the remaining players on the team? Why have a poll and vote for high numbers of players to get themselves kicked off? Do we have a precedence for having a lot of players being kicked off? Are some of you just that pessimistic about this upcoming season? Is everyone on the team smoking pot at your parties (maybe they are)? If you vote a high number and are right, what the hell kind of joy do you get? "OHHHHH MAN, I'M SO SMART I GUESSED THE RIGHT NUMBER OF PLAYERS TO GET THEMSELVES KICKED OFF MY FAVORITE TEAM!!!!!!!!! I AM AWESOME!!!! LOL LOL LOL LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" That is what I meant by useless.
  20. PB...FYI...CJL did not kick Julmiste out of the program. Julmiste was kicked out of the program because per USF ATHLETIC Dept RULES, where it states that if ANY USF Athletes in ANY sport fails 3 drug tests, you are immediately kicked out said program. Believe Windbane (or name like that) was trying to make the point earlier in the thread to you. Now CJL can kick a player out of his program for ANY reason...and could of done that same for Josh...by not letting him enroll at USF because of his prior arrest...not allowed him back on the team after he was kicked off because of the theft case...and could of kicked him off after his first sign of drug use (before his first test), then could of done the same after his first positive drug test...or even after his 2nd failed drug test, but never did. great, the last thing I need is you agreeing with me so no one else pays attention to my point, heh. Anyway, like I said, Leavitt did not kick anyone off the team so no credit should go to him. Now, maybe he would have anyway, but it is the rules that forced Julmiste off the team. Perhaps Leavitt helped set the rules, who knows.
  21. *sigh of relief* More plays, more college football. Only the press complained about long game times (saw it on Around the Horn, PTI, etc). They don't see the need for long games. Well, I love them. Also, single-game records will be easier to break and now that everyone has 12-game season, the season records will be even from here on out (except for bowl game, but whatever, that's another reward for going to one...oh, and conference championships...eh). I agree about the kickoff being 5 yards farther back. Puts more emphasis on a good kicker as well. At least we have some strong legs at USF. I also love the time-saving measures with the timeouts and kickoffs. Sure, I don't mind long games, but I'm all for getting to the action faster. Commercials won't get shorter because they need money, so those help. The only thing I'm worried about is the rule for 2008 where they are changing the play clock to 40 seconds. I'm all for a uniform play clock but does that mean the game clock will start before the ball is placed like the NFL? It would make sense to change that but college hasn't been that way for a long time as far as I know.
  22. I really don't quite understand your obsessive concern with what I do regarding USF football. Get a life. My support for USF football this year will be limited to the renewal of my season tickets At the time players who have committed felonies play for USF I will no longer support the program in anyway. He got caught in the act...so whether the charges are dropped or not the fact remains he did the deed. . Hum...9 posts a day for you, 3.5 posts a day for me. Who needs to get a life? I just think you have unrealistic expectations of sports teams. You will never follow a team that does not have somebody that was given a second chance. Enjoy your last season as a Bulls fan.
  23. Wow, I just mentioned your name on the main board about this HaulingBull. I trust you will keep your promise of no longer being a USF fan if we get him, even if the charges were dropped. :
  24. I want him so Hauling Bull is no longer a fan. I know how he hates those Felon "convicts." :
  25. I'm surprised you didn't mentions Johnson. He's young, but he already has as much PT as a lot of the guys listed. I hate that he went to Cape, but he made up for it by coming here. Perhaps he likes Johnson the best and assumes he won't lose his spot
