  1. It's obvious these people have an agenda for them to imply that USF is the only program that has these kinds of problems. If Hill is allowed to stay on the team it won't be b/c USF needs him at QB, b/c the decision to move him to WR has been made. USF is stacked at WR and Hill wouldn't be guaranteed playing time. Thus if if Hill does stick it's b/c Leavitt's thinks the kid can be reached and still has an opportunity to make somethign of himself on and off the field. The easy thing would be to cut the player. It would be more of an accomplishment if the coach tries to help the young man straighten out his life. Fortunately, Leavitt doesn't care what people think of him. He knows that the majority of his players are good citizens and students. So if a few idiots want to cast stones so be it.
  2. Excellent post. The punishment should commensurate with the crime. I love all the yahoos that come out the woodwork and ask for that player to be dismissed b/c of a simple misdeamenor or before all the facts come out. I remember the idiots asking for Jackie Chambers to be dismissed because he got into a fight defending his dorm. Where all these people when he was completely cleared of all charges and found to done nothing wrong. Hill has reached a cross roads in his life. He can take advantage of the huge opportunity he is letting slip away or he can wake up and start acting like a young man. If he sticks with the program it's b/c Leavitt thinks he can still reach the kid. Sure he is a great talent, but so was Peyton. BTW, Peyton was shown the door and held accountable, so some people can spare us the lectures on how to run our program. 99% of our kids are good kids. Unfortunately that other 1% get all the publicity.
  3. Spare us the lecture. Thanks and have a nice day.
  4. Why do some of you guys automatically assume the worst?
  5. I doubt Leavitt worries too much about where he is ranked. It's not really a fair comparison. GOL got fat beating a bunch of cupcakes. Eventually O'Liar is going to have to win some meaningful games.
  6. The baseball program didn't get a fair deal with the piss poor facilities. Prado has his work cut out for him, but I like his energy and something EC never did enough: willingness to fundraise. Go Bulls
  7. That is bullsh!t. Most people are not calling into question CRM's coaching ability. The problem is the terrible recruiting decisions, large turnover and lack of any resemblance of plan to build the program other than an annual assortment of transfers and JUCOs. He deserves a lot of credit for developing Leather and Jones, but he needs to recruit 4 year players that stick around. To date that his been his major failing.
  8. Seems harsh to blast the SPT when they have stepped up their coverage of USF sports, and their beat writer's blogs essentially fullfills a free premium service. The only legitimate knock is the lack of road game coverage for basketball and football.
  9. It's not really going to become a rivalry until USF takes something away from UL that really matters to them. Sure we beat them last year, but that loss didn't deter them from having a **** good season, while USF went backwards. I get the sense that most UL fans saw the game as a fluke while at the same time appreciating what the USF program can become in the future. IF we are beating a loaded clubs like UL now....in our 9th year of existence.....what will we be doing 10 years from now? What's good for the BE is good for UL. IMO, USF will create two annual rivalries this year if it can win the last two games of the season. UL and WVU are poised to have great seasons. If USF were to hijack their post season plans....it would put us forever into the consciousness of their fan base b/c and opportunity loss to go to a BCS game. That is what really builds rivalries.
  10. hey brad....remeber me pimping Prado almost three years ago? I still think that EC could have steered the program into the right direction with a new stadium, but Prado has the potential to take it to the top. Adding Tino was a stroke of genius. Good days are back again.
  11. Recruiting has been terrible. Player turnover has been embarrassing to be perfectly honest, not to mention the revolving door for assistant coaches. Remember we used to make fun of teams like Cincy who was known as Transfer and Juco Central. I like the team that CRM puts on the floor. It has more toughness and heart than anything Seth was able to coax out of his guys, but at the end of the day we have to win, and win consistently. He got another mulligan last year but the time for excuses on and off the floor are over. I want to hear the Dome rocking again. Some of you young guys have NO IDEA about how a sold out Sun Dome sounds. Back in the late 80s and early 90s ESPN and Sports Illustrated called it one of the toughest places to play for opposing coaches. It got that loud. Basketball games were an event and we had student groups such Death Row making headlines by antagonizing the crap out of Denny Crum, Bob Huggins and Gene Bartow. It can be like that again but the coach has to make a difference.
  12. Link to CLP Press Conference: Lelo Prado Joins the Bulls
  13. I think it's fair to say that CRM has a lot to prove. It wasn't just injuries and bad luck that has derailed his program. I'm anxious to see how this team looks like in December when everyone is finally eligible.
  14. What......we didn't sign Joe Torre, Tommy Lasorda or Casey Stengel? D@mn that Woolard? What is he thinking? Geeze.....this was a great hire. We bring in a coach that has coached kids at the highest levels and knows the area's high schools like the back of his hand. I bet some of you would have booed Leavitt's hiring 11 years ago b/c you probably never heard of him and would have campaigned for the couple 'name' coaches (if you wanted to call them that) that applied for the job. BTW....this just in....we still have to fix the stadium problem.
  15. Besides the cost of going to prep school I wonder why more kids don't go to Prep Schools. If they go that route they still have 5 years to play 4 years.
  16. Hopefully he will go in the first round b/c not only will he get guaranteed money but it will give him more time to develop b/c teams tend to hold onto their 1st rounders more b/c of the guaranteed money. If you go in the 2nd all bets are off and teams are not as patient.
  17. I disagree. PJ has a better arm, is faster and has better football frame to punish would be defenders to bring him down when running the ball. However, PJ's problem is that you never know where his throws are going to go. You either get a bounce pass or high throw that only Superman could bring it down. Every once in a while he makes a series of 8 or 9 throws that make you wonder how good he could be if he was more consistent but most of the time you just want him to be a cautious caretaker instead of risking being a playmaker. With that said, PJ has better tools, but so did Ryan Leaf over peyton manning. PJ has a lot of heart and a great attitude....maybe he'll put it all together for his senior year. But even with all his faults he still kicked UCF's arse last season. Get ready for a repeat performance.
  18. You mean how he fell in your lap? Or how you spent all you energy recruiting a player who was not eligible until very late in the recruiting class? BTW....wasn't GOL busy losig to Georgia when Culpepper was being recruited. Amazing that you give him credit for Culpepper. You mean how UCF backed into the CUSA east after Southern Piss was upset. The same USM team that kicked your a$$ a few weeks earlier? Is it really championship calibur football when you have to struggle to beat all the CDOA bottom feeders. Isn't that more an indictment of how bad CDOA really is, if a previously 0-17 team nearly wins the conference. Sure....those accomplishments are really "program affirming". You mean one of the worst Alabama teams in history that had already mailed it in during week 4 of the season yet UCF needed a fluke FG to win? Any relationship between losing to UCF and UAT immediately firing their head coach? My thoughts exactly. Over 25 years of football and the best win you have is over a 3-8 'Bama team?
