  1. I'm willing to bet we don't win Saturday (or lose for that matter)
  2. Last time we had a crowd this big i guess was against syracuse in 2012. we averaged 4k before that game and averaged 5-6k(big east schedule) after. it's normal to get a boost in attendance for a ranked team at home. regardless of how good/bad you are. towards the end of that season we played #12 U of L and got 7,500 in attendance. we were 10-15 at the time. I get building on the momentum and obviously more people come out to see a winner but this one game won't define this team or this season.
  3. so if we lose to fau then our season will collapse? I guess you should be more worried about us beating fau, as we did wvu, and then losing out. exactly!
  4. I'm not sure why people say same old usf. we have won some pretty big games in our day. was it same old usf when we beat a top 5 wvu at home? do we win them all? no. neither does any other program. this is one game. don't make it out to be anything more than that. there is a high variance when relying on 3 point shooting. it could be a blowout in either direction. With our defense, home court advantage and the way we have been shooting, I like our chances.
  5. our overall body of work will take care of this. Football we got blown out in back to back games against uab and fau and I think our fanbase is pretty hopeful for the future. I'd rather get blown out here and then win the rest of our games including aac tourney than win close and lose rest of our games. while attendance would dip initially I think it would be better in long run. can't put to much stock in one game.
  6. nah never look at a small sample size and extrapolate anything from it. especially with the extreme variance when relying on the 3 from both sides. they may shoot lights out and we may not be able to hit the broad side of a barn. it could go the other way too. doesn't mean anything other than one team had an off night and the other was clicking.
  7. there is a reason why pro stadiums are getting smaller. they don't care about selling $5 tickets and neither should we.
  8. we play very similar styles. guard heavy with lots of 3's. we have a better defense. they have a better offense. we absolutely have to defend the 3 point line. 3 point shooting will be the difference in this game.
  9. no problem. whenever I have a tech issue I just unplug or reset. usually helps
  10. walker doesn't offer enough offensively. nice to see him shoot the three last night. if he can develop that shot then lookout
  11. not sure what leverage they would have. only remaining public north carolina college would be nc state
  12. early in the year Walker played 23 minutes against CMU. Pryor 10. The minutes have more than flipped since then and Pryor's offense is a big reason why we are winning now. Last night we gave up 36 points in the paint. we only scored 16. Pryor played 28 minutes and Walker played 12. their big is going to score even if walker defends him. the question is do you limit your offense in the process. Like I said we should worry more about their guards shooting 3's.
  13. don't think you give up Pryor's offense for Walker's defense. He will be difficult for their big to defend on the perimeter. It would be a huge mistake trying to make Pryor something he is not
  14. He'll get his points. Can't worry about that. More worried about defending the 3. 5 of their top 6 scorers are guards who shoot the three at better than 34%. Davis their leading scorer shoots 47% from behind the arc.
  15. the guy will be tough to handle but we'll be fine. we've been getting dominated in the paint all year including last night where we gave up 36 to our 16. we still won by 19. we need to keep moving the ball and knocking down 3's. cut down on those sloppy turnovers.
  16. I like BB but we've had more than a few "one of a kind" talents at QB
  17. easier sell to come here now. come here and shine go sign a big deal with p5 program. better than sitting on some bench somewhere
  18. very true. more likely a p5 qb transfers to another p5 school. oregon state qb to fsu. ohio state qb to syracuse indiana qb to washington. aurburn qb to oregon. etc etc
  19. we were 8-16 (1.0 points per shot)on 2 point shots in the 2nd half. we were 9-16 (1.69 points per shot) on 3 pointers. we were out rebounded once again and we gave up more points in the paint than we had as well. look at the boxscores if you want to see the truth. not some 3rd rate announcers analysis. we came back and won because we played much better defense and we shot the 3 very well in the 2nd half. same reason we have been winning all year long. our offensive efficiency numbers(+70 spots) are way up this year in large part because a higher percentage of scoring is coming from 3 pointers(+116 spots). but it's our defensive efficiency that has really been impressive (+104 spots). our rebounding percentage has dropped (-135 spots) so that's not helping. it is true that a higher percentage of our points are coming from the line this year so I will give you that look at the stats and you'll understand why we're winning. it's because we are shooting more threes and playing better defense. this is what analytics says you should do in order to give yourself a better chance to win.
  20. dude we are outscored in the paint and out rebounded in almost every game we play including against rice. you suggested we could turn it around by driving to the basket and shooting less 3's. we shot 9 of 16 from 3 in the 2nd half. that's why we won. we are winning because of our 3 point shooting and our defense. it almost has nothing to do with our inside play or rebounding.
  21. better get used to the high variance when shooting 3's. it's why you can come back from big deficits but it's also why you can get into big deficits in the first place. gotta ride the roller coaster and keep jacking up 3's. gives you the best chance to win.
  22. lol a team uncomfortable to be in first place.....they shot poorly in the 1st half. nothing more nothing less.
  23. lol not sure why our fans want to give up on 3's so easily. It's why we are so successful. 9 for 16 in 2nd half. outscored them by 15 behind the arc.
