  1. Sounds like someone could use some anger management therapy.
  2. Sure why not.... the mother in law is already in town.  ;D
  3. CJL will not be leaving. If you can take any silver lining from this loss is it may have made him less appealing to K-State. I question a play call here or there but I think Leavitt is a good coach. I love people like Bullsayer who need instant gradification. This is our 1st year in the Big East for goodness sakes and we were predicted to finish 7th out of 8 teams by pretty much everybody. We for 4-7 last year! Hello?!? TripleB is right your rambling is absurd. I guess maybe Florida should go ahead and fire Urban Meyer, or FSU Bobby Bowden. After Notre Dame lost to USC they should have fired Charlie Weiss. Heck the only 2 consistent teams this year could be said of Texas and USC. Coach Mack at Texas has done what over the last decade.....consistently lost to Oklahoma until this year. Based on your reasoning, nearly every coach in D-1 football should have been fired at some point this year. How did you become a fan of this team if mediocrity is unacceptable to you ? I mean half of our history is beating teams like Liberty, Elon, SW Texas State. How much more mediocre can you get? Chill out.....it will all be over soon. ;D
  4. Good to see you come around...agreed this had to be one of the most frustrating games I've watched in a while but really....let's keep this in perspective. We WILL go bowling for the 1st time ever. Yes, our QB position sucks but it has for 3 seasons now. This year soooo much reminds me of 2 seasons ago when we went 7-4 but weren't bowl eligible bucause our staff did not realize Nichols State and Charleston Southern didn't count. We won with smoke and mirrors because our QB suuuucked. It's like playing Russian Roulette. You might get away with having a crappy QB some of the times, but one day it will catch up too you. I'll be there next Saturday and will enjoy having a legit BIG name football school in our house.
  5. Boy, he sure went out on a limb on that one!  I would anticipate only Cluko the Chicken will pick us in that game. That's ok, they said the same thing about Louisville.
  6. Exactly, we have to look at this from their persepctive also. I think most fans are in denial about us. They have decades of tradition, been to big Bowls several times, maybe even have been in the hunt or have won a National Championship like Pitt, yet we have come from nowhere and are now in the same exact position they are. How would we feel if FAU somehow got invited to the SEC or ACC and won a conference championship?!? We would go nuts....that obviously won't happen and seems impossible but what we have done in only 9 years really also is impossible in the college football world. We'll show em!
  7. I was just wondering what everyone's thoughts would be on how we would use the Sugar Bowl money if we were to beat UConn and UWV? Obviously we would pay a good chunk to Leavitt and his staff. Would we pay down the loan to the althetic facilities? Does the money have to stay within the Athletic Dept or can the University use it anywhere it pleases? Whatever it would be used for I would imagine it would have a great impact on the program.
  8. I would tend to think Louisville is everyone's biggest rival in the conference for football. Will UConn fans get really excited about beating Rutgers?!? No, it would be like us getting excited about beating FAMU or UCF. Really I see Pitt, UWV, and UofL being what you would call a traditional rivalry. the newer schools us and UConn will develop some but these things take time and history. I still consider USM our best rival. Since they tried to block our entry into CUSA, faking punts/onside kicking in the 4th qtr with a big lead when we were I-AA.
  9. I'm not overly concerned about next season...we lose obviously our best player in Hall but Ponton has looked good in mop-up duty and I would not be surprised it we recruit a top RB with some thinking that could pick up where Hall left off and start right away. The rest of our team is fairly young. My biggest concern continues to be QB and we will have what we have now plus Grothe so that's a positive
  10. I Agree with the Bishop and Velcro, 2-3 years ago we would have loved to have an announced 27,000...we will have to continue to deal with the growing pains (i.e. unusual start times, last minute game time changes) as long as our overall attendance average continues to trend upward I'm happy. Not everything will be perfect, we just have to deal with it.
  11. Wollard will figure something out. I would have to assume we'll have another game at the "Tampa Classic" or whatever they call the FAMU beatdown. He pulled out the UNC 1 and 1 so I have faith he'll figure something out. I'd be down with Fresno State. Still wouldn't mind seeing something with Nebraska.
  12. Presently the TV schedule for that day is: Dec. 3 Sat. C-USA Championship TBD ESPN Dec. 3 Sat. Louisville @ UConn TBD ESPN Dec. 3 Sat. Big XII Championship 1:00 p.m. ABC Dec. 3 Sat. Army vs. Navy (Philadelphia) 2:30 p.m. CBS Dec. 3 Sat. UCLA @ Southern California 4:30 p.m. ABC Dec. 3 Sat. SEC Championship 6:00 p.m. CBS Dec. 3 Sat. ACC Championship 8:00 p.m. ABC I would suspect we get an 11:00 A.M. kickoff on ESPN2. I would not like it at that time but as long as we don't fall on our face it would be way more interesting than the C-USA championship or the UConn vs Louisville game since it would essentially be the Big East championship game.
  13. Cuse.....I'd say it's 50/50 for both Rutgers and UConn.
  14. Even with this loss we still control our destiny to be Big East Champs. Mind you that will probably change next week. I'm hoping JL post game comments mean he will actually develop a unique game plan to do things a little differently, such as not putting the ball in the hands of our QBs. Just direct snap it to Hall!
  15. This thread reminds me: How could it be any worse? It could be raining.
  16. Hey is Brian Fisher out of jail yet?!? Oh I guess his eligibility ran out. :-/
  17. That is an understatment.....however, we did win unexpected road games at Pitt (when we were I-AA), TCU and UAB. I think those were our only road upsets. So sometimes we do surprise ;D Although we did lose to ARMY at home so sometimes we just suck altogether.
  18. Gary, What I think has happened which is understandable is that the Louisville win messed up all of our preseason expectations. Personally, I tend to expect the worst since I grew up watching the Leeman Bennant and Ray Perkins Bucs. But here's what that Louisville win does: Prior to Season Expectation/ During Season Expectation 4-7 9-2 Penn State Loss / Loss (same ol' Bulls) FAMU Big Win / Big Win (So far so good) UCF Big Win / Big Win(they suck no biggie) Louisville Big Loss / Big Win (were way awesome) Miami Big Loss / Loss (well they are UM) Pittsburgh Loss / Big Win (well they suck now) UWV Big Loss / Win ( Hey we beat Louisville) Rutgers Win / Big Win ( Big East Doormat) Cuse' Loss Carrier Dome/ Big Win (We beat Louisville) Cincinnati Win (They lost everyone)/ Big Win UConn Loss Real Cold/ Big Win (We beat Louisville) So that one win changes your outlook. I thought we'd go 4-7 this year..... yet I still think due to that Louisville win we will end up 6-5. I tend not to get too worked up over losses but some people can only accept winning and after Louisville they suddenly envisioned 9-2 and the $10 mil payout at the Sugar Bowl. ;D
  19. Actually cee, I would have to disagree with you on that one. Pat has never ever played the roll of Dr. Jeckyl....that would imply that he was good some times. Julmiste is ALWAYS Mr. Hyde. However, the rest of our team has been able to overcome his bad habits at home better than on the road. Granted Julmiste only turns the ball over inside our 30 on the road where as at home he turns it over more in the center of the field. If that is what you meant then I could agree with that anology. Yet that would be more like. Mr. Hyde vs. Mr Hyde on crack ;D
  20. Personally, I don't think any QB on this team will "take" us to a bowl. I still think a bowl game is a possibility but only because there are so many bowls and think we can still hit the 6-5 maybe 7-4 mark. That said, I have no defense for Julmiste...he's awful....much like Ronnie Banks was awful. I wouldn't mind seeing Leavitt continue his trickeration and run gimmick offenses until we do have a QB. Why not put Hill back there with Denson and see what the 2 athletes can do together? Maybe alternate direct snaps to one of the 2 QB's or have Hall throw some passes....he's completed the 2 that he's attempted.
  21. Actually I think we could be a very dominant team in the Big East if we could just find a QB that doesn't always turn over the ball inside our 30 yard line. That being said, since we are soooo 1 dimensional on offense, why don't we embrace it until we can find a qb that can throw the ball to people wearing the same colored jersey. Lets run the wishbone/wing-t/veere/ ala Major Harris against West Virginia. Sit Pat for good. Have Denson over center. Hall and Ponton in the backfield with Jackson swinging around every play. I know it's an annoying offense that doesn't really work over the long haul but I hated to see us play someone who ran it when we were I-AA. I can still see Western Kentucky running all over the place on us. Hey what do we got to lose....by doing that we cannot throw interceptions thus our opponent may actually have to drive down the field on offense.
