  1. Gotta wonder who Stan is still looking at? He has 2 scholly's for next season. Right now I am aware of senior xfer PF 6'9" Kore White from FAU who had xfered there from Marshall. If he couldn't dominate the Sun Belt....then I seriously doubt he will be a factor in the Big East but he can at least give you 5 more fouls and a 5th Big Man that only holds up a scholly for one season. Other than that, I am not aware of anyone else.
  2. So he wants a college town, lots of tradition, not too far from home and someone who runs a pro-style offense. Well we aren't too far from home......not sure what we call our offense.
  3. Yes, I did think of that. Like you said, without knowing what is important to him.....it is hard to know what will appeal to him. I think the new facilities can't hurt either.
  4. I just wonder out loud what chances USF would have over FSU or Maryland. One school is his hometown....which he has already commited to....the other is his father's school....where he would be famous the moment he arrives at campus. The only thing going for us.....is FSU has several guards ahead of him and he may have to wait for minutes....whereas....since USF really only has one PG in AC....he could come in and get 10-15 minutes immediately and could potentially split minutes or play full time as a true Freshman if there were any kind of injury during the season.
  5. Is anything that is on Bleacher Report......relavant in any way? I guess it is about as relavant as any of our posts on this board.
  6. I would think just based on supply and demand.....there would be TOO many GJ doners to just give them access to the club. It will be hard to put any kind of figure on what our BB attendance will be like next season with the success on the court and people just wanting to check out the remodeled Sun Dome.
  7. Well regarding Notre Dame. If the kid wants a very valuable degree....then I would tell him look at Stanford 1st, ND 2nd..... That's it.....since he obviously isn't going to commit to Harvard, Yale or Princeton.....if he is going to go to any Football factory university....it might as well be USF. If he commits to the other two schools.....well, I would understand.
  8. Gotta love the writers (cough, cough) at Bleacher Report...... I like the 2 names he uses to describe all the programs offering Hargreaves. "Nearly every major program in the country, from Alabama to Wake Forest, has offered the stud defender a full ride in hopes of acquiring his services for the next four years." Wake Forest?!? I guess he chose to avoid geography or stature of program to compare the schools.....and instead went with the alphabet. What Youngstown State didn't offer?
  9. Victor Rudd to the NBA......I'll believe it when I see it. Right now....I believe he will be a Bull next season. I like the point Vega made above. If these guys would cut down on the Turnovers.....I could see Heath opening it up a little more. I also have to wonder with all the fresh bodies we will have next season...if Heath would consider rotating in a press defense once in a while.
  10. Maybe....I am going crazy....but a few weeks back when I posted on this thread....I could have sworn it said Richard Benjamin TBT. Then yesterday....when I saw the thread....I thought it was a new thread because it said Richard Benjamin. Middleton..... Which made me question.....hey, did he xfer back? Now it appears the title has been updated since my post with TBT spelled out this time. Maybe I'm just getting old and senile.
  11. Missed this article a few weeks back. http://espn.go.com/college-sports/recruiting/football/story/_/id/7602052/alvin-bailey-always-seems-step-big-situations The Gators haven't offered Bailey a scholarship yet but they remain in contact with each other. Meanwhile, Notre Dame, South Florida, South Carolina, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, UCF, Illinois and Mississippi State are the programs that have offered. Bailey recently attended South Florida's junior day and was scheduled to see Florida but was not able to make it. "I really liked South Florida and they would probably be in my top five right now," Bailey said. "Some of the guys from this area have stayed home and it's worked out."
  12. Why did the title of this thread revert him back to playing for Middleton? He is a Titan. The Tampa Bay Tech junior wide receiver, who falls in at No. 14 in the Sentinel’s 2013 Florida Top 100, says he is looking forward to participating in track to keep him in shape during the football offseason. Benjamin (6-0, 182), who transferred to Tech in January after enduring an 0-10 season at Tampa Middleton, already has scholarship offers from 30 different schools.
  13. With the 35 wr's we're going to have on the roster, we'd have to tell him that to ahve any chance at signing him .... It just that Holtz didn't have ANY WRs when he got here....so he said....oh this isn't happening again. Not until I have at least......16 deep. So who do we have....just going by the roster. Stephen Bravo Brown Andre Davis Chris Dunkley Ruben Gonzalez Sterling Griffin Linsey Lamar Terrance Mitchell Victor Marc Deonte Welch Derrick Hopkins Jordan Duval William Whiteside Then we are adding D'Vario Montgomery and Mutt this class. So that will get us to 14. Next year Lindsey Lamar and Victor Marc will be seniors and we already have the two WR commits from Immakolee so far for 2013. But USF has a lot of offers to WR's out there....so I would expect at least one or 2 more. Besides Benjamin.....you have Alvin Bailey at Armwood, Travis Johnson at Jesuit, the 2 WR at Lincoln Tallahassee (BJ's school) Reggie Davis and Taj Williams. Kid out of Ft. Lauderdale Jordan Cunningham. Those are probably our top targets.....they all have offers from everybody so our chances are probably low. But one of them would be nice. Besides those mentioned we have about 9 other offers out there to WR/ATH. Saw Orlando Evans WR Tony Stevens commited to FSU today, so that is one less kid with a USF offer out there. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/recruiting/os-recruiting-orlando-evans-tony-stevens-roderrick-hoskins-commit-fsu-20120225,0,3540499.story
  14. You figure recruits are also going to be wary of UCF for a little while until this NCAA investigation is over with. They may still have bowl bans and scholly reductions in their future.
  15. Josh did like to tweet a lot didn't he? I sure it was posted back in September but his coach at Vandy didn't care for his tweeting hobby. http://moral-victory.blogspot.com/2011/09/josh-gradys-twitter-post-draws-wrath-of.html
  16. Well if his goal is to go to the NFL.....I don't see why playing under your Dad at USF would be all that much different from playing under a total stranger at UF or USC. Not saying he will come here......but if your Dad is on the staff....your odds of getting into the coaches doghouse are about zero. Also, probably every effort would be made to get you on the field ASAP..... You would have many built in advantages playing under Pops that you wouldn't be guaranteed anywhere else. Like I said.....I don't know if that will be enough for him.....but your Dad will probably ensure you have the best chance to showcase your talents....whereas anywhere else....things can happen. How many 5 star players go to a big school....something happens....they get injured......and you never hear from them again?
  17. http://www.tampabay.com/blogs/bulls/content/more-notes-usfs-first-commitments-2013 Greg has a new article out about the two. Looks like grades could be an issue. There is some concern about the academics for Johnson and Richardson, but Ackley said they still have the final three months of this year and all of next year to improve their grades and test scores. "We are going to have to work hard at that," Ackley said. "We have a plan in place. They have to be disciplined to make it work."
  18. Hey you never know....maybe he just wants to play in the Liberty Bowl every year. ;D
  19. Sigh. He doesn't like cold weather. He's not allergic to it. In all, he probably plays under 50 degrees...oh, 2-3 games a year in the Big East. If the kid really doesn't like cold weather that much he should probably stick to the sunbelt conference. I don't know if I really agree with this. We typically play ONE cold weather game per season. Sometimes TWO but that is rare. We don't have ONE single cold weather game this upcoming season unless you expect it to be unusually cold at Rutgers on November 5th. Last year we had zero cold weather games. In 2009 we had one, UConn which was in a snow storm. In 2008 we had one, at West Virginia to end the regular season.
  20. I read or heard somewhere that Bennie Coney is Wiggins cousin.....now does that mean 1st or 4th cousins...I don't know. He may have some sway there since Coney seems to be leaning toward Cincy right now. I guess it also depends on what is going on with Tyler Camereon from Jupiter.
  21. Actually, I may have gotten the two confused. So much drama! ;D
  22. Auburn huh? 8 hour drive from Tampa.......well so much for the girlfriend aspect of it......that relationship will be over soon if it isn't already.
