I would like to know what youth sports event/league you went to that the parents didn't talk about other kids/parents/coaches... In that environment, when they're standing in groups, you can bet your butt they are talking loud enough for the people they're aiming their comments at to hear them. Of course parents talk about other's kids, what I said was they do not openly criticize other people's kids. But no they don't talk loud enough for the people at which they are aiming their comments can hear them. There is a thing called decorum. The games were at Tampa Bay United.

IncrediBULL, I don't believe in the everyone gets a trophy mentaility, but I also don't believe in everyone gets publicly ridiculed mentality. If you chose to boo, that is your choice. I chose not to. I have recently been to a youth sporting event. People don't openly criticize other people's kids/players/etc...The individual families may discuss the play of others amongst themselves, but not as a collective. This was at a very high level select soccer league. To each his own.

OR, people could be dead. Not everyone is always ready to use their firearm. I am not against guns, nor am I against carrying your weapon. I'm waiting for my concealed carry permit. Trained to you is probably different than trained to me. As ex-military. every where I go I try to identify who may be a threat and I locate all exit points. Most peolple don't have that instinct, or training. Being armed doesn't always make a difference in a good way.

Rueb, I applaud you for not booing. If you re-read my post, you'll see that part my statement was "I call BS, all the kids know is, as they were running off of the field people were booing." WOW, you were able to make sure that the players know that you were booing the football program, athletic department, and/or university. Please enlighten us on how you were able to do that. The Director of Athletics' job is to oversee the entire athletic program. Not just the football team. Yes Doug has made his mistakes, there's no doubt about that, but no one is ever 100% right with every move they make. The athletics department as a whole is better off. I'll bet $$ to donuts that very few AD's would stop and offer what he offered.

We need players too. Seriously though. I hope our fans mean this. This season is going to be very rough. Next season could see a lot of losing too. People jumped on Skip in year 2. Hopefully that wot happen with Taggart. The "people" you refer to don't reside here. They are major donors and trustees. Holtz needed to go because he was killing this program and the people who contribute the bulk of the money to the program recognized it. He didn't go because a bunch of Bullspenners were calling him out. Taggart's going to be on an even shorter leash so he needs to get his players motivated and quick. Please tell me who these people who contribute the bulk of the money to the program are. I'd like to meet them. Do you speak with them regularly? Read the small board along the ring in Ray Jay. Those names that get put up there are the Iron Bull Donors. But of those there are probably a handful of donors that give enough to even have Doug's ear on these matters. The Muma's are probably tops on the list. I was being facetious, he has no idea what actually happened unless he was there.

so if they were blessed with a god given talent above john q public why is john q public booing them for something they themselves couldn't do? never understood how someone who doesn't have nearly the ability of another could criticize them. BTW it does more harm than good. This is one of the lamest things that gets said all the time. I'm a structural engineer, if I design a building and it falls down, wouldn't you as a lay person be able to criticize me, even without knowing one thing about engineering? I understand where you are coming from, but most people with above average intelligence can learn how to become a structural engineer. Most people can't run a 4.4 40 etc......

If someone lives in Tampa, has season tickets and they don't have other obligations, but they still don't attend all of the home games, then IMO they are "lesser" fans.

Last night in the Selmon Athletic Center parking lot I was talking to Swamprat about how I was disappointed in the fact that the women's game hadn't started yet and that the men's game wouldn't start until approximately 10:00PM. Doug Woolard stops his car and asks us if we wanted to wait for the men's game in the lobby of the athletic center. It was a VERY nice gesture which I thought needed to be mentioned here.

Does anyone know if the soccer matches are still on for tonight? It's pouring here.

I will be 40 minutes into my game day drinking at this point tomorrow.

Who says that the student buses can't drop them off at the South end. If the kids are motivated enough, they'll find their way to the tailgate area.

If you could stop suggesting people openly violate multiple laws that would be great. If the man would stop violating my civil liberties, namely my 4th amendment rights, then that would be better and I would not have to resort to civil disobiedence. My goal in life right now is to smuggle as many "illegal" things past the TSA as possible, and then post pictures here on the pen. What exactly are unreasonable searches and seizures, when you are choosing to attend an event? If you don't want to go, don't, but please stop trying to make EVERY rule a violation of your Constitutional rights! BTW, nothing is absolute!
