  1. While I am not disagreeing with you... I am fairly certain that the INT returned for a TD was actually an audbile by MG.  It appeared that he checked off to that play from something else the OC called... if there is a replay, I will double check that for sure. Regardless of whether it was called by Rod or MG audibled the result was due to the fact FIU had seen the same play a bunch of times.
  2. Oh I'm sorry, I thought Rod had called the throw it to the other team play there.  That must explain the ridiculous jump the DB got on that route. I don't know what you're getting at here.  R to the Izo is ripping MG on this thread and I'm sticking up for his play. So I guess I need to ask who you would have prefered to have in there at the end of the game?  Which of the QB's give us the best chance to win?
  3. It doesn't help when Rod Smith has called that same hook route for the 5th time in a quarter and a half of football.  Sooner or later FIU was going to jump that route. I thought MG played well overall.  He did make some freshman mistakes with both INT's and the 4th down incomplete pass late in the game.  He also made some great passes tonight that PJ would never have made.  Bottom line I don't think we win that game with PJ at QB. ÂÂ
  4. Let me just say thanks to BootlegBull for putting that video up. That was great!!!!
  5. We don't call him Rod "Run on first down" Smith for nothing.
  6. Flip -- So exactly how many of those authentic #8's can you order?  8-)
  7. The bowl that selects us will be the one that must select us.  See MCC bowl last season.
  8. This looks like it could have been the play.  Picture from gousfbulls.com
  9. Well you should because Leavitt stated that in his post game interview.
  10. IAA = 1-0 Top IA = 0-1 Which do you prefer?
  11. I think it was a classy move by Leavitt that almost blew up in his face.  For all we know the 1st half of the McNeese game could have been all the PT that Leavitt had planned for PJ this season.
  12. (Not quite sure why the last post does not open) ...because he is the better QB AND he will keep the heat off Leavitt this season.  If we finish up 6-6 this year with offensive struggles you can chalk it up to "freshman quarterback" and I think most fans (myself included) will cut him slack. If he goes with PJ all year and we end up 6-6.....  :

  14. And....the black "U" on the helmets looks alot more black now with the new green jerseys. Good if you like black "U" I suppose. ÂÂ
  15. You know, those are the "sexy" plays and all, but I liked the short throws better than his deep ones. The deep ones were good(like MikeG said, the bomb to Edwards was more Edwards making a play on the ball than Matt throwing the perfect pass), but the short ones were crisp, ON TIME, and IN STRIDE. I know Shoop. I was was just trying to point out that with PJ we have no vertical passing game. Smith would not even call the long passes last season because he had no confidence in PJ.
  16. I've seen enough.  MG has good mobility, can throw on the run (huge for our offense) and is a heck of a lot more ACCURATE than PJ. MG will most certainly make mistakes this year, but I'd rather take my lumps with a freshman QB than waste another year on PJ.  ÂÂ
  17. When was the last time one of our QB's threw a 47 yard TD pass?
  18. Sorry for the poor quality, but you get the point... http://s36.photobucket.com/albums/e24/Cashcow92/?action=view&current=USFBand.flv
  19. How can we be tied with the Knats after that beat down last year? ;D
