  1. "Those Big 12 sources say there is no urgency to add one or two more schools and that if the 10-team league couldn't land a game changer (which Florida State would be), there's no reason to expand because of the 13-year granting of rights binding the league together." either this writer is full of **** or UL ain't going to the B12
  2. http://texas.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1364356 they made another article laying out even more reasons why they think this will happen...
  3. "I was also told that studies had been done looking at what value might be added if any of the original members of the Big East (Louisville, Cincinnati, etc.) would bring to the Big 12, and that report did not come back favorably, sources said." Yikes...

  5. UL basically lost a coin-flip to TCU for the last spot just a few months ago, of-course they are still bitter and upset about not being chosen, THEY CALLED HEADS, AND IT LANDED ON TAILS (SPEAKING METAPHORICALLY) We, including UL are in the minors... everybody's dream is to play in the majors, our hope is to be called up, just like anybody else. Also, when it comes to the BE and USF playing for a National Championship, there are no scenarios where USF doesn't have to be undefeated and have won some big games during the season (most likely coming from OOC.) Maybe Boise is ranked, maybe one other, but we are almost always going to start at the bottom of the Pre-season rankings and have to work our way up. USF doesn't have the luxury of getting a slip up like Alabama. also a healthy dose of CHAOS!! lots of top ranked teams losing to unranked folks... USF's road only became more difficult because highly ranked WVU is now gone, and that win helps big-time when we can get it... hopefully Boise will replace them from that perspective.
  6. IF and I mean "hole in one on a Par 5" IF this happens, it would breed hope for USF, but still need it to happen WITH some sort of penalty around the same time against Miami (more like a hole in one on a Par 3). Then the ACC has no product to show in Florida, and that's when desperation/need occurs... otherwise chalk this up with all the other rumors of the day...
  7. We wouldn't have even said goodbye had we been invited... EVERYBODY left in the BE prays one day there name is called up for the "Majors" We are now officially part of "The Leftovers"
  8. UL isn't gone yet... B12 may take it's time and wait to add them, make sure it's worth the trouble, and the bottom line... Remember, this whole re-alignment parade is ALL ABOUT THE MONEY, so just how much is UL worth to the B12?? not sure they get much more yearly revenue by adding them... we will see. and without more chaos on a biblical scale in college football, nobody is coming to pick us up either... We all better hope the BE gets is S*** together for the time being. The landscape of college football is still a very shaky place!!
  9. We will learn a ton about our fan-base after that game... If we can't get more then 50k "USF" fans (Alumni and students total) then we are in big trouble long-term. Not to many high profile OOC teams play often in our house, so this game should draw well... I pray it does anyway...
  10. BINGOOOO... SOS for BE schools will come into play more then ever if we need to climb the ladder to the top 4... the winner of the BE is going to have to have some impressive wins to get voted above the "Status Quo"
  11. USF would jump head first about 2 secs after we got that call... I mean, not even before the B12 got finished with his complete invitation... B12- We would be honored if your insti... USF-yes B12- tution join the B12 USF- Yes, yes yes... where do we sign B12- ok then... Perception is reality, and B12 has a better (albit tarnished) perception when compared to the BE... People outside the power conferences think of us as a CUSA type league... and being in the B12 we would have a better chance of playing something meaningful as the winds of change sweep thru the landscape of college football... Don't think we are even on the B12 radar BTW, just don't see it... just my opinion... I disagree. The ONLY conference better for USF than the Big East is the ACC, and the only reason it's better is the regional rivalry possibilities. Basketball and Football are both better in the BE, but travel would be better in the ACC. It would be worth it. I would not leave the BE for the B12. Not even close to being worth it. I agree it would be better, ACC no doubt fits USF better then B12, but don't mistake one key point... 30 vs 13-15 million project TV contract... you take that offer on those grounds alone. USF would be better long-term to be in the family of the B12 for survival reason alone, then staying in the BE, even if we are the "Red headed step-child" of that dysfunctional family. That, and potential home games with TX, OK, TT and WVU are better sells to the public then UConn, Cinncy, Rutgers or San Diego to name a few...
  12. "In the land of the BIG IF" ACC were to lose FSU, and knowing the hard hand of the law may drop on UM for a period of time, they MAY consider adding another Florida school IF it were to happen... you could have a situation where Miami is off the air TV wise with sanctions (if and when any may come) and no FSU any longer, making there "product" all but disappear in the state... and there is our only play, in my opinion. We NEED chaos to occur in order to be looked at as a viable option for the ACC... We need them to be in a position of losing TV share in Florida, otherwise I see them grabbing UL and UCONN or Rutgers...
  13. USF would jump head first about 2 secs after we got that call... I mean, not even before the B12 got finished with his complete invitation... B12- We would be honored if your insti... 14. Lets pray they choose top 4 teams, not League Champions... I want the best teams in, even if all 4 are from the SEC... that being said, USF's only chance of playing for a National Championship is the double combo of an undefeated season, with wins against multiple ranked teams AND chaos like we had in 2007, with top teams losing/eliminating each-other... with "Best four in" Proposal USF has a chance, with "Top four League Champions" proposal... well, USF has no chance. my 2 cents
  15. This would be great... but Vernon Hargreaves would be better :-)
  16. wouldn't be surprised if USF brought in a JUCO DT in the summer for back-up... this sucks, wish him well...
  17. Taking an official visit to the B12 world? Hmmmm... anybody know which school, and what's up with that??? per greg...
