  1. agreed, putting students in both endzones would help the noise factor as well, u'd have noise coming from both sides of the stadium, it would only help get more people involved
  2. interesting, didn't even think about that. another 9 in there and what a great story it would make
  3. thanks for the suggestion woolybully, i'll be printing it to take over to the oracle tomorrow morning so make your suggestions tonight and i'll read them in the morning
  4. thank you, just reading everybody saying e-mail this person and that person, i just figured why not write a letter to the editor and put it in the oracle
  5. I'm writing a letter to the editor to be put in the Oracle, tell me what u guys think, any suggestions more than welcome Police and TSA Security Actions Uncalled For This letter is in response to what occurred after the game on Saturday vs. Louisville. The way the police and TSA Security acted was horrendous; there is no excuse for beating somebody or using a taser on a student. For those of you who don’t know, the students at the game wanted to go celebrate in the field with the players, only to be stopped by force by the security and police. Students were tasered and beat with night sticks. Girls were tackled to the ground by 200-300 pound TSA security officials and I mean girls that weigh about 100 pounds. I don’t see why this happened; we just wanted to celebrate with our team after one of our greatest victories in our stadium. Teams all over the country are allowed to storm the field to go celebrate with their team, but we can’t here. I’ve been at USF now for 5 years and I remember storming the field about 2 years ago. It was fun; it was something that the fans and players loved, and something that will never again happen at USF. Something needs to be done to those cops and TSA Security people for what they did to students, it was uncalled for. I understand, wanting to protect the goal posts, but then just circle them and let us join the team in celebration. Even people in the stands were getting hit by cops’ night sticks and got threatened with a taser for doing nothing. It’s a part of college football, something you can only enjoy for so long, why take it away from the students? I do want to thank the players for coming over to the student section after seeing what was happening, the students really appreciated it, and congrats on the win. Something needs to be done to change and prevent what happened this past Saturday from happening again, or else students might stop coming to the games.
  6. wtf? what is this post about? i'm confused, anybody else understand it?
  7. Athletics gave it a go, obviously they wanted the students to storm the field, the students wanted to, but we didn't for fear of going to jail or getting beat up by the cops, we should be allowed to storm, we didn't want the goal post, we just wanted to celebrate with our team. wheres the harm in that?
  8. nice one BigShoop, glad you could admit when you were wrong, takes a man to do that, and yeah thanks to the players for coming over, see everybody saturday in miami
  9. who cares game over, it wouldn't have made a difference in the score and the outcome of the game would have been the same. was it stupid yes, but its over
  10. this is ********, we upset the number 9th or 8th team in the country (depending on which poll you look at) and we can't storm the field? this is rediculous, not like we wanted to take down the goal posts, we just wanted to celebrate like every other team does after a big win. The way the cops acted was unbelievable and uncalled for, i hope something happens to those cops who did beat helpless students, we need our own stadium, F#@K the Glasiers, its OUR stadium also, we DO PAY RENT THERE
  11. during halftime, some ucf fans were down in the front of the student section, right by where the Student Bulls Club was sitting and took one of our megaphones and threw it back hitting some girls in the face, its ridiculous, these people actually did this surrounded by about 30 bulls fans, and thankfully they were told to leave the student section
  12. if you look in past posts, you'd seem numerous reason from me and others on here about why we don't like the oracle.  as a school newspaper its job is to support the school sports team, maybe one or two articles talking about lack of attendance, or something like that, or if something major happened to atheltics that is major and has a negative effect on the school, i'm not saying be positive one hundred percent, because i know you can't be biased when being a sports reporter, but the fact that you work at a university newspaper, at least don't print articles where a reporter writes "why don't you transfer if your team is Penn State?  I can't leave because i'm stuck here"  that is something that recently upset me and numerous other people on this board. oh and calling the handful of fans who do attend mens basketball games huligans and nothing more than thugs, isn't right, at least we are out there supporting our team
  13. since i don't feel like going through numerous threads, there hasn't been a definete answer, does anybody know if the mall parking lot will open today or not? or where is a good spot to tailgate otherwise? preferably close to the student gate
  14. wannsted is a joke of a head football coach, he shouldn't be allowed to coach football anywhere, look what he did to miami, he ruined the dolphins, hes gonna do the same to Pitt
  15. ummm..wow is all i gotta say, biggest win in Ohio football, Pitt not looking too good this season, and it doesn't look good for the Big East when its defending champion loses to a bottom feeder in i believe its the midwest conference.
  16. i feel like going down to the Oracle and letting them have a piece of my mind, and giving a huge chunk to that one reporter who said "i can't transfer, i'm stuck here." makes me so mad to see so called "journalists" doing nothing right and putting down their school
  17. i for one am very happy with this, play all of our games on our home turf, we don't need to be going anywhere else to play, screw the st. pete times forum
  18. Day Burress (Clemson) 2408 / 8 % Lindsey Buehler (Penn State) 6761 / 22 % Casey Martin (Texas Tech) 6701 / 22 % Chelsey (UCLA) 674 / 2 % Alaina Carson (Auburn) 6164 / 20 % Crystal Hollobaugh (South Florida) 6803 / 23 % in first now lets keep her there
  19. Day Burress (Clemson) 2361 / 9 % Lindsey Buehler (Penn State) 6010 / 23 % Casey Martin (Texas Tech) 6157 / 23 % Chelsey (UCLA) 587 / 2 % Alaina Carson (Auburn) 4759 / 18 % Crystal Hollobaugh (South Florida) 6054 / 23 % keep it up only 103 votes out of first
  20. how bout the fact that the winner would be able to say we are a better football team then the loser, because we just beat them? it would help in recruiting. you don't think recruits look at games like um vs. fsu or fsu vs florida and think about going to the school who wins? i know this was brought up before, just thought i'd mention it again, since it hasn't been said yet. by the way i really liked the article usf2004, some of that stuff you mentioned should be brought up to athletics to be used, i really like the bull whos eyes light up at game time, and smoke comes out of its nose, that would be cool
