RTB, thanks for the offer... but I'm going to head up North after graduation to see them... I had saved a ton of money over the last two months so they could have a place on the beach for the week (like a second honeymoon) and that way we could spend some time together before I make my next move in life. Unfortunately, the hurricane that destroyed their house has created constant problems with Travelers Insurance company and the proper settlement. Travelers keeps screwing them and they keep getting bounced around from hotel to hotel, or the price Travelers is willing to pay to contractors is eqivalent to what you would get paid in Malaysia to do work. So, work is stop and go... nine months later, my parents are busted from paying excessively out of their pocket and are ready to go postal on their insurance agent. I helped with some of their bills for storage and what not, and some late bills that added up, but coming down here and monitoring the completion of their house just aren't conducive. What I learned from insurance companies is that you pay all this cheddar for years on end, but when it's their turn to make amends, they screw you in the drive-thru! I'm still debating on going to the baseball game and then going home afterwards, or leaving Sunday morning. I have to be back by Friday at the latest because of work. I'm torn between family and USF sports!

Who's going? I'm considering going home on May 2nd to see my folks since they're upset they can't afford to come down and make my graduation? At the same token, I could always leave the morning of the 5th after a long night of drinking in Orlando... Anyone besides me wanting to goto the game and tailgate. I need a response sooner than later as my dad is trying to get Orioles tickets for the Chicago White Sox series that week.

Jewbull... who would I need to talk to so I could get my own jersey from when I played in 2000? I would pay top dollar and want to be buried in it when my time comes. I'm very serious and money will not be an obstacle (within reason)! That is the one graduation gift I would like to give to myself... and knowing no one has worn #43 since then, my jersey has got to be floating around somewhere. Any help would be the best and worth dinner at Antonio's on me!

Bonds will take both records out next year... He will fall about two dingers shy of Ruth this year making for a long winter... if he keeps this pace up though... Ruth my be an afterthought by early September... by then, the media will come up with "proof" of the steroid allegations to secretly get at Bonds... Ruth is a white icon... they don't want Bonds beating Ruth because he is an arrogant black man. IMO, Bonds would crush Ruth if they played together now-a-days.

I had to finish... it was part of the deal the Navy had given me. Four days of special liberty that I didn't get charged for... at the same time the worst hell I ever put my body thru... exception being freshmen camp at USF. What was crazy about that marathon was seeing about 300 people run off the course at the beginning of the race to go piss. They didn't want to lose their position before the race, so they waited until it started. It was funny. I also remember my nipples bleeding from my shirt rubbing me while running and having to throw the shirt away... and my underarms being torn apart (chaffing). All along the route people were throwing vaseline under their arm pits... initially I was like what? About 15 miles into it, I understood why. The funniest part was I did train a little bit. I was on a fast attack submarine, not a ballistic missile sub, so there was no where to run like in the movie Crimson Tide where you see Denzel doing laps in the missile compartment. I use to goto this one spot in the engine room and would run in place in front of a ladder an hour at a pop while listening to my walkman. That was my exercise. Like I said, we spent two months at sea, so I had to do something to keep busy before the marathon.

I don't want to tell you my time, but I finished 14015 out of 21000 runners. Qualifying time for Boston is 3:15 for men. Put it this way... my ego was bigger than my brain going into it! Spent two straight months at sea, was told I could get four days of special duty leave by running in the marathon, got to see my folks back home and got drunk the night before... life as the almighty conquering 21-year old. Let me train for six months with a partner and no doubt in my mind I will qualify for Boston. Maybe I'll give it a shot in Arizona...

Ran in the Marine Corp Marathon in DC in 1996... did not have a qualifying time for Boston though. I was one of those fun runners if you call running 26.2 miles fun.
