  1. actually i will tell you that many athletes down this way are now transfering to private schools because they dont have to pass the FCAT to graduate. Of course if they cant pass the FCAT i dont see how they stand a chance at SAT or ACT
  2. He is probably going to wait on UM, The problem for him is that the Canes have only 15 scholarships available this year.
  3. Willingham is going to Washington way better deal for him than Ole Miss
  4. Well too bad that they spelled his name wrong, is Denson NOT Dawson.
  5. Grothe has a lot of talent but will be tough for he to start as freshman, i would rather he was redshirted and have time to adjust to college, learn the system and get stronger. Denson i believe has three years eligibility at USF, he will be a sophomore. I believe he will be the starter frm the start or will take over soon after. Julmiste will be the back up. In 2006we could have a strong QB competition and depth with Denson a JR with playing experience, Julmiste a SR with playing experience,Grothe a redshirt FR with one yr learning the system and Midgett if he transfered a junior with also 1 yr learning the system. Your QB's get better when you have quality competition something we have never had at USF.
  6. Is not going to be turn around in 1 year or two.
  7. Winning will help but the logo is pretty cool and i know that wearing it around the Miami-FTL area more people are recognizing it and many that dont have approach and ask about it,my cap with the U logo seems to be very well received. That never happened with the old logo.
  8. 9. Good to hear would be nice to see who ellse made the top 50
  10. Is a catch 22 if you are going to bring big names for a holiday tournament it means paying them more money and probably getting your butt kicked. If you look around at Holiday tournaments, all they really are is a way for the home school to play two teams that would be wins and make money at home. With our BE schedule being tough enough and full of big names,i expect USF to follow UM's and FSU's pattern of playing easy teams to build the wins. Dont expect many big names on our out of conference schedules.
  11. The problem is that because the lack of support, the number of fans showing up in the holiday season to see USF play a team like Miss Valley would be minimal. Unless you get sponsors it would be a drain on the program. If we were avg 5,000 plus as we were a few years ago it would be doable.
  12. Dont think Grothe will be our starter, no matter how good he is. he will be a freshmen big difference between HS and college ball. I hope he can redshirt and learn the offense plus get stronger
  13. Hmmm that comment about Memphis and USM has me wondering.........you dont think the BE schedule is more appealing than our current CUSA one. I hope thats not a fly on this board LOL
  14. Student: Let me tell you i GRADUATED from USF in 1982 we DID NOT have a football team and until my last year played basketball outside of campus (no SunDome). I gre up in Miami and was a die hard UM fan had season tickets to UM,went to games in Gainesville and Tallahassee while attending USF to support the Canes. Traveled to the Fiesta Bowl,Sugar Bowl twice and Orange Bowls that UM played. BUT once USF got football i bought USF season tickets and while i still like the Canes, not once have i missed a USF game to see UM. So please dont tell me about 20 years of who you grew up rooting for, You are ATTENDING USF, hopefully get a DEGREE from USF, and when you go looking for a job youll be a USF grad. So its time to start putting USF first over UM,UF or FSU which really DO NOT represent you.
  15. Wouldnt be surprise if Denson beats him out in Spring practice or by the first game. It also tells you a lot about our senior class talent when it looks like none might be participating in senior bowls. I would expect Sarosi and Herron to be invited before its all over but it shows we are not as talented as just hard working.
  16. Unfourtunately after our performance against them on the field and in the stands it makes sense that they would think that way. Well have to show them wrong in the next few seasons.
  17. Actually they come out today at 5PM ET but it looks like Texas will replace Cal
  18. Looking at the USF-Memphis starters ONLY FIVE were seniors out of the 22 starters.
  19. and i dont mean the Pitt game since it was the last game and some started just because they were seniors.
  20. How many of those 20 seniors STARTED this year?
  21. Denson is a great athlete and kid. You will see it next year.
  22. I want him to stay, but he has to do whats best for him.If he is guaranted to go in first three rounds he should weigh that with how high he could go next year with more exposure. As for Copeland and Lewis leaving get used to it this happens to every program yearly.you have kids that transfer for many reasons. We lose some we gain some like Denson,Muy etc,
  23. THe problem with giving tix away is that then there is NO reason to buy them. I would like to see USF offer end zone tickets cheaply like 4 for $20 to get families to game
