This could be a very long season if someone does not step up the plate and make a change in that play calling. Our O-line must be pissed. They gave the QB's protection last night and neither one of them took advantage of it. When running plays were called, the running game was decent enough to not abandon it. Stick with the run a little longer, MB is gone. maybe we can keep our D rested.

I agree Terry. The play calling was horrible! He threw when he should have run and went for the long ball on 3rd down instead of 1st. That pass to the flats was horrible! And we kept running it like it was succesful or something. I couldn't believe it! We may not have been able to win that game, but after the 1st quarter I thought it might be a good game. Until Hobbie kept our defense out there too long and they just tired out. That Williams kid (WR) was impressive but we made him look like a hall of famer already.

And the pass wasn't even close. I was there. You should have seen the fans, we were livid. We couldn't believe Hobbie called that play when Ronnie had already threw away two or three other long bombs. I don't know how it sounded on the radio, but I can guarantee you Banks was not close on any of the long bombs. Pat was not any more impressive looking. Leavitt definitely needs to make some adjustments if he wants to continue being the God we all think he is. Hall should be getting at least 25 carries a game, he is a horse. He ran over a couple of guys last night and it was beautiful. The penalties were bad, but of course, those SEC officials see ALL the penalties in the trenches when we commit them. Fumbling killed us also. All in all it was a very ugly game after the first quarter. the defense got tired.

USF 24-23 256 Sheffield I do not think we will win but I cannot pick the other team. If it were Vegas, that would be a different story, but not on here. I hope we at least have a good showing.

The bullbackers will be hosting a happy hour social on Wednesday, July 7th at Elmer's Sports Bar and grill starting at 5 PM. Elmer's is located at 5206 S MacDill Ave. On Macdill Ave, just south of Gandy on the east side. We will have drink specials, and we are working on getting a guest speaker from USF and possibly some give-aways. Please come by, say "hi" to some Bull fans and maybe even join the Bullbackers.

Ricky, where were you?  I thought you were going.  It was a well-attended event (by my Pinellas standards).  There were almost 300 people in attendance.  One of the deans from the honors program (Dr. silverman) spoke since Pres. Genshaft could not make it.  Coach Mac, JL and the newly appointed AD Woolard spoke.  Woolard was very nice to meet and flew in on his own time (I didn't say $$) to attend this function.  He will go to the hockey game then leave tomorrow.  I thought that was very professional.  He had been Ponte Verde the last couple of weeks attending BE conferences and said they are very excited to starting our relationship. Coach Mac was proud to declare that through the turmoil of last season, his players had the highest GPA the team has seen in 10 years.  He preached academics and looked forward to joining THE toughest basketball conference ever.  He also exclaimed that in his 23 years of coaching he has never had back to back losing season. Coach L did his usual " Go Bulls " and got the crowd going.  He was only up there about 5 mins and joked about how his new facility was not that great.  He has to walk forever through the beautiful halls, past the large conference rooms and up the stairs to his office.  Before he could park in front of his office and walk right inside.  All of it was a good laugh. Mike Griffin gave a nice speech on how he is making the transition from student to alum and how important it is to become involved as an alum to give students like himself the opportunity to have a good time while earning a great education.  They gave away some door prizes and said goodbye.  Athletics is doing a great job of having merchandise on hand to sell and there is plenty of information for season tix, alumni assoc. and other ways of getting involved. This has really grown into a great partnership between the alumni assoc. and athletics as is shown by the Around the Horns events. Don't forget, the Pinellas luncheon will be in the fall during a bye week.  keep your eyes open for details. ÂÂ

That is what you get when you join the Bull Backers. Many of you ask why you should join the bull Backers. Well, how about camaraderie? We have a great tailgate, we are planning a trip for the South Carolina away game, along with a tailgate there, watch parties and an end of the year picnic. This is only the beginning. If we continue to grow (9 new members in the last two months), then we can start having our own luncheons or golf outings (not tourneys) and who knows what else. We are a small group now but can become something bigger and better if you just give us a try AND participate in our events.

I heard Genshaft wants to announce the new AD with the facility but the facility won't be 100% done. Although personnel will me moving in within the next 2 weeks, it is not 100% done.

That is exactly what I heard Bien. He kept looking down at the table rather than looking up and giving some exciting answers. He was nothing like they expected. He is a marketer, maybe, but not a leader.

I think you might be surprised Steve. I don't think any of us are that old, even you, to where that might not be a possibility.

I thought about it Gary, but then I guess a part of me thought what Mike posted. I didn't want to do it just to do it and waste their time. I also don't really have the credentials they are looking for but I think a lot of us could do the job as a fan, but maybe not as a business. i would probably think more with my heart then my brain.

I couldn't agree more with you Mike. We heard all this talk about how there was gonna be all this great merchandise and how it would be everywhere. I am a little dissapointed they changed the logo (and made me go out of business) and we haven't seen the influx I thought we were.

Yes, Ricky, this is the case. the AA wanted to pass out tickets to the Pinellas residents and get exposure over here.

This has been a great year for baseball. I hope they can keep it up. It would be nice to see them make a run in the CWS.

I saw most of the game and thought it was a little more interesting near the end of the game.  there was a little more strategy since the game meant something this year.

That's what has been bugging me about the D-rays. They talk about building their team from there minor league teams then trade away the ones that actually have a shot at having a career. It doesn't make any sense. they shot the wad on over the hill vets and now keep putting up and coming rooks on the trading block. I don't think Lou will allow this to happen to often if they want him to stay as coach.
