  1. Yes, if something came out of the last week for me personally is my goal to contribute to the NIL. We need to play the game. While, we might have lost 3 of our best players to the NIL, I hope coach Rahim can identify quality players at smaller teams, and bring them over to USF. Find the next Youngblood and Pryor, and find them a a way to get NIL money.. While we might get raided by Power teams, we just need to do the same and raid fellow mid majors, and teams that are considered in leagues below the AAC.
  2. I think that is why it would help if NIL numbers were made public. Where do we relate compared to other schools when it comes to NIL money? i think these numbers would help with donations since it could specify monetary goals. And how do we get money to specific players? With huge priority to our top three men's basketball players, and skill position players on our football team. Would love to know what Youngblood and Pryor will be making at their next destination, and see if we wouldn't be able to match it with USF NIL money. I would donate to a NIL fund to keep Youngblood.
  3. Ugh. Can't believe this last week in the transfer portal. I will need a strong dose of K Pop and J Pop to recover. Coachella this weekend can't come soon enough.
  4. This is beyond disappointing. Thought we had great momentum going into next year to have a NCAAT run year.
  5. No doubt College sports is a multi billion dollar industry. From television networks to the gambling industry, to the universities, and everyone and everything in between. I am totally fine with players getting their fair share of the money pie. The Nil is just something we will have to figure out. If you look at other teams in the AAC, they are also losing players. For now we will just have to restock for next year, and than figure out how to be competitive in the NIL long term. If we can get 300 million plus for an OCS I suspect the donor base is there for NIL money
  6. I agree. Data regarding how much players make through NIL and who pays them should be publicly available. These numbers would help us figure out what is going on, and where we are falling short. For example, how much money did Youngblood make last season at USF and how much will he be getting at his new team? What is the difference between what we can pay compared to other teams? These numbers will help USF with NIL donations since now knowing how donations are being used and who is benefitting from them, I am sure is holding some back from donating towards NIL. The NIL is something that USF will have to figure out. Verry disappointing losing Youngblood.
  7. It would be like watching a UFC fight between Shaquille o Neale and Danny De Vitto. It would be one-sided, but it would be entertaining.
  8. Yea, I do agree with that part. You assume he is gone, and you look for someone to replace him. However, I feel that if his spot isn't filled, and he changes his mind, you welcome him back on board.
  9. I don't know if I see it that way. I see it more akin as for example someone who works at a firm and applies for another job; doesn't get the job, or gets the job but then decides to stay put. Or how is it different, for example for a coach to put his name out in the coaching carousel, willing to jump on a better opportunity, but not get the better job and than staying put? If Miguel decides to stay at USF and takes his name out of the portal I will see that as a win for USF.
  10. This is the second year in a row that the Spring game is scheduled at the same time as Coachella. Probably not a good idea since it will probably thin out the younger crowds.
  11. I don't think he is going anywhere this year. If we had made the NCAAT and won a few games than I would be more worried.
  12. Sorry about that. Sometimes I glance over comments quickly and I saw minor league, and than made a false assumption. Sometimes I misread things and this is one case of that.
  13. That's never going to happen. College football and NFL will always be separate. I think most college fans appreciate the differences and wont let that happen.
  14. I was just joking about the one hour, and in reality I don't need the blue pill and my body is a fine tuned machine like the world has never seen that can go for 36 hours non stop. And I am speaking conservatively.
  15. Wow, an hour, I usually don't last that long.
  16. Oh my god! I would spend the rest of my life travelling, checking of everything of my bucket list. Wouldn't spend money on big cars, huge mansions, or jewelry. Would have a nice apartment in Vancouver, and one in Tokyo. I would donate a lot to USF and would earmark it going to coaches, since well paid quality coaches will be the key to sustained success.
  17. With 12 teams making it I would take the wager that they make it to the playoffs as part of the Big10 or SEC within the first 5 years. The never part is funny since never is a long long time.
  18. I would have jumped on that since there has to be a cool story behind it. I am always looking online for cool USF collectibles or items for my USF section in my man cave.
  19. Under the same logic are WSU and OSU happy because the got left behind even though they are probably getting quite a bit of money from the old Pac teams, or would they have rather have been picked up by a top 4 conference? No i believe you try to be in the best possible conference, with the best possible teams and the money will follow. Tv contract can and will always be renegotiated based on value.
  20. I disagree. If you are a lower ACC team, or teams like UConn, USF, Memphis,... the worst possible strategy is staying put and wait it out. If The ACC loses half its team, and you are Syracuse, Virginia Tech type team, and the Big 12 calls you you jump on the opportunity.
  21. Sure that's happening behind the scenes, and Rahim and our AD are talking, and we should hear about a new contract soon. Not breaking up the contract, and giving Rahim a raise after the great year we have had would be foolish. But again I think its happening behind the scenes
  22. Its not unheard of of a player entering the portal only to later decide to come back. I am hoping he changes his mind if the NBA part of the equation doesn't work out
  23. I don't know. I feel that going to Memphis from Tulsa is a major step up. Memphis despite a disappointing year is elite and probably the flagship program of the AAC. Tulsa is the exact opposite of that.
  24. That is a worldwide trend. You see the same all over the world. I am part of that new generation where people no longer are pressured to marry and have children. More and more of us are deciding not to have children. I think this is a positive trend.
