  1. I don't know if it is as bad as it looks. Two of their four losses came in extras (to Northwestern) and the other two were in this past weekend to Clemson. I don't follow them enough to know and it looks like his talent might be young looking a the recruiting rankings. Maybe they are a couple of breaks from being 9-2 ot 10-1 and his young talent will come along as the season goes.
  2. Can't overreact to getting swept or sweeping early in the season, but there were some good sings in this series JD Dutka had six hits this weekend and nine over a five game hitting streak. Nick Gonzalez had three hits this weekend and four over the last four after having just one over the previous four. Hopefully trending up. Wasn't all good though, Still need more rom Buck, Hogan, and Sully. not sure Mitchell wouldn't better as a nine hole hitter but there may not be a better option in the leadoff spot. Pitching, as some have mentioned, was pretty stellar overall. 40 strikeouts to just 8 walks (four of which on sunday). The bull pen only allowed 3 free passes.
  3. That’s correct. I think you get a magazine for those months as well
  4. Well ESPN plus is a service that doesn’t require any other cable plan and is pretty cheap at 4.99/month. As you said, you will always get the scoop here but for big games you might think about buying a month here and there.
  5. Good to see Dutka have a good series. Maybe he can get back to where he was two years again
  6. The link I posted kinda explains, yes the foreign substances helped movement but it was t necessarily on purpose. Basically Scuff it throw it and see what happens. When that got taken away pitchers weren’t able to reproduce the movement on their own.

  8. Ok what about the others? Guys today face pitchers throwing 95 plus with power sliders everyday. Back then they might see 90 once a week. As for the other point, it was going from the dead ball era to the live ball era. The biggest one being not being able to doctor baseballs. Pitchers in the 1920s were use to being able to throw their fastballs by hitters because they were hard to see and used offspeed and breaking pitches much less. It would have been a rare to see a curve ball when ahead in count. Thus hitters just sat on fastballs they knew were coming. With ball being much easier to see, hitting skyrocketed in the 1920s as pitchers failed to adjust. The hitters of today would have field days. But as someone mentioned, there’s no real way to end this debate. There advantages and disadvantages for every era.
  9. Oh not the fact that he faced pitching that would get cut in college? Or that he played at a time where hitting was given an advantage?
  10. No problem, and once you watch a few, YouTube will read your mind as well. I didn’t know that, but that works a little better for me if ESPN is gonna take responsibility for the production value. I know that’s not the case for everyone. I know it’s probably just a student volunteer but the camera person for the YouTube stream is not very good. I remember him following the lead runner on plays and not the ball. Missed a lot.
  11. I usually go to YouTube and because of it knowing what I’m thinking, it’s the first thing that comes up. Jk but I do follow the USF athletics page. But usually when they broadcast it, me or someone will post a link that you can click in the OP. This series just doesn’t have one.

  13. If it weren’t I’m for this, we would be over analyzing what CJS ate for breakfast.
  14. something else to point out is that we are looking at this as if Q walked in pounded his fist on the desk and said start me at QB or i'm leaving. Maybe he walked in and said play me at RB, or slot or QB. where ever just don't take me off the field. He's been the best they have at all three. Just put the ball in his hand 20 somehow and see what happens.
  15. He is gambling on himself. the greats usually do.
  16. Unless he gets traded and starts. In which case, staying was the not smart move. Can't really judge it at the moment. There's a fine line between quitting and knowing your value. I'm not staying in current regular job one second past the time I feel I am being undervalued as a professional.
