  1. Well you know win or lose there will be a thread about why we should fire CBG after. Nobody here is apathetic about firings
  2. Any other snippets we can over analyze and make drastic judgements?
  3. End of the day he is getting around 12-15 reps per game. Just not enough. He is clearly the most electrifying player on the field week in and week out. he shouldnt be coming off at all. Maybe moved around but never off
  4. He said he hopes he will return soon........ Usually when they know they will be coming back they say they will return soon. Still possible the Q chucked up the deuces and they are trying to convince him to come back
  5. Kinda hard to stay when everyone in and outside of Tampa is screaming that he is the best option and still gets 3rd string/ package duty.
  6. Would you suggest that we had an anomaly of a recruiting class in 2015 that all graduated about the time he took over? Kingston 2015 recruiting ranking 3 Kingston 2016 recruiting ranking 40 Seems like if we are gonna say there's been a steady decline its starts there and CBM just hasn't got it back right again. ( i'm not in this camp)
  7. well, no 101 (for clarification) is not good. Coaches have done better here in their first class before. However I will say, and this is using a little insider info, that the final ranking could have been higher if he had not walk away from a some of CCS holdovers. (don't @ me, it happened). But he did it to bring in more transfers so maybe there's still more to come.
  8. so someone can't just say he did a great job with what was put in front of him? Personally, if Taggart was plan B is was probably better to have CJS a month later than hitch our wagon there. But we really don't know what plan B was, it could have been worse. Who did we pass up in order to wait for CJS? Are they that great that the extra month would have changed our recruiting class? Odds say no. Also, not that I care to much but it might be time for an OT tread.
  9. yeah, I think you gotta understand that if you say anything nice about a coach not name Leavitt, Puc is coming for you.
  10. My overall point is that the sport is so diluted from there being so many options (see my response to Jtrue) that the idea that we should be good because we are a division one program in the state of Florida is just misguided. Here, just as everywhere else, programs have to be built by good people. For whatever reason and im sure if you dig deep enough you will find many, we just haven't. Those other programs that have been referenced in this thread have. firing coaches after three seasons because they don't make to the tourny 2 out of the 3 isn't gonna do it either. If he makes the conference tourny and the freshman are playing well he deserves a chance to build on that. He's only had two full recruiting cycles as the head guy and as we established, we don't get a crack at very many impact freshman and think he found two in this class.
  11. well i'm not sure you looking at this right, of that 66%, how many of them were top 100 players coming out of high school. I think to see the point im making, you have to look at where top talent is going. Look at the percentage of the top 100 hs players in the state and see if they are getting drafted or going to JUCO. https://www.perfectgame.org/Rankings/Players/StateRankings.aspx?gyear=2019&state=FL Of the top 50 players in 2019 3 are on G5 rosters, 2 went to FIU and we saw the third one on the bump Saturday pitch an absolute gem. 5 are at Jucos the rest committed P5 or went pro.
  12. Was really hoping for a bring back Cardieri post.
  13. They just did? What about the geography alabama makes it more conducive to football than anywhere else? A good program can be built anywhere, it's more about the people than the place. Baseball has some pretty deep roots in all four corners of this nation, including being invented in and around the northeast.
  14. I get that there is a ton of talent in the state but there is also a ton of options just in the state alone. I mean I don't have a number but I can believe there are no less than 300+ schools and 30 MLB teams recruiting the state. Also important to remember 1st level talent goes pro 2nd level talent goes JUCO to go pro early 3rd level talent goes P5 4th level g5 Now there is some mixing like 1 to 2 and 2 to 3 but we aren't getting close to top level talent, even in the state. We knew the offense would be bad and it is. Pitching for the most part has been good. If the bats can get hot for a little bit, you will see what potential this team has but I think it just needs to get handed off to the youth and take the bumps.
  15. Also can we stop treating baseball like its football. A school is not small or suck just because you have never heard of them. This is a sport where schools such as Dallas Baptist University and Cal State Fullerton are a very good programs and have been better than us for years, Stetson is a good program on a national level. It's not then end of the world that we lost to Northeastern, they aren't a terrible program and got an at large bid to the tournament in 2018. Now we did look pretty bad offensively, but they played well too. I'm in the play it out camp. We don't gain anything by firing Mohl, all quality candidates are currently employed. But I will stand in the camp that says the final record, long as we make the conference tourney, doesn't matter as much as how the freshman are playing at the end. If the freshman and Sophomores are starting to put it together towards the end, CBM deserves a chance to build on that.
