The lethality of this virus for people in the 60-70 age bracket is under 1%. For 70+ it goes up to 3.5-4%. Look obviously I'm not going to change your mind. But have you considered the long term implications of humans not exposing themselves to viruses and bacteria? Do you know what happened to the Native Americans when the Europeans came here? The Natives hadn't built up any immunity to anything because they hadn't been exposed to anything like what the Europeans brought over so many of them died. It's not hard to imagine a world in the next few hundred years if we continue this path of shutting ourselves off from nature and barricade ourselves off in our houses. It's a losing strategy for humanity imo. That's also not considering the precedent of letting a small group of people (government) dictate behavior and social norms on such a large scale. I think that is extremely dangerous to allow them to make claims based on unproven science, then allow them to make life altering mandates because of it where you support people being arrested and locked in a cage for making their own health decisions. I mean at some point I think personal responsibility needs to play a part in this. If I felt that I might not survive the virus, I would not leave my house. I think your position has merit, but for you to dismiss other people who have different opinions as "selfish" or hope they get it is completely delusional to the threats your opinion brings.

It is pretty dishonest to point at Taggart and say wow he didnt recruit well at the end because none of those players are leaders now. Development is a huge part of being a coach, and CCS didnt develop one player.

Fair. The athletic department here showed its hand the day it fired Leavitt that athletics is not important, and continues annually to support that claim further. At least basketball is competitive. And for the record, my job has me go to plenty of people's houses daily and I wear a mask in their homes no questions asked, so get off your moral high ground. You're not better than anybody for having a political stance, which this is 100% political. If you're debating allowed behavior for people it is political. I wouldn't expect a grandstander to know that.

I've seen plenty to indicate that people touch their face more when you have mask mandates. Sweeden didnt close anything or have a mask mandate, and have a much lower infection rate and less people dead from it on a per population basis. I'm sure you'll be like "oh Sweeden is less populated" well Stockholm is more densely populated and more total population then the Tampa Bay area. There are also examples in America that didnt shut down, and it seems to have no correlation to infection rates unless you watch CNN and they nit pick data for you.

The biggest reasons I liked going to USF games was to be loud, get drunk, and interact with other fans. While the attendance is limited, and I'm forced to wear a mask, I have no interest in attending a USF game again.
