  1. http://www.sportsbusinessdaily.com/Journal/Issues/2016/08/01/Media/Big-12-TV.aspx I also heard about a possible announcement that they won't expand because of lack of qualified schools.
  2. UF, FSU are in places where people go to school and then leave. Miami (Coral Gables) is a place where rich kids go and then go back up north. UCF is more transient with the tourism industry. But Tampa draws people from all of those places who actually have to get jobs so we get fans of a lot of different teams here. With time and winning we will have more fans. The media will cover what sells. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/opinion/os-low-wage-orlando-scott-maxwell-20150905-column.html
  3. Some people forget that Miami was on the verge of shuttering their program when Schnellenberger got there. All it took to change them into a power was a couple classes staying home and the leadership of a few key recruits. I'm not predicting that this is happening at USF but it's a good sign.

  5. Geographically, (not that it counts for much anymore) I don't get them trying to expand both east and west. They already have an outlier in WVU so UC would help fix it. UH is obvious unless they don't want more Texas. Then I think Memphis, UConn, USF and UCF make more sense in a move towards the east. I know BYU means more money though. https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=1sjVYJrsRWuJpa1gtMa9fIyiHpww&hl=en_US
  6. Or his brother took the fall for him and that coupled with the lack of winning made it an easy choice to get rid of him. Or even to appease the NCAA (see Butch Davis, UNC)

  8. Hahahaha. Urban Meyer forgot his name. http://usatodayhss.com/2016/south-florida-nabs-former-osu-pledge-who-decommitted-because-urban-meyer-forgot-his-name#sthash.O31WEsHN.uxfs&st_refDomain=t.co&st_refQuery=/vsoleWBDXa
  9. We tried for Dave Rice last time and he turned them down at the last minute. I know someone retired from the UNLV athletic department who still is involved. He said they love Rice there and it would be a huge deal if he left. Did Masiello ever get his degree? Although he didn't have a great season last year.
  10. When I want to keep a secret I post it on a forum on the internet and tell people not to share it. I also put a condom on after sex.
  11. I'm not predicting 11-1 because there are still questions on the lines but what game other than FSU do people expect us not to win or at least have a good shot? Sept. 3 Towson Sept. 10 Northern Illinois Sept. 17 at Syracuse Sept. 24 Florida State Oct. 1 at Cincinnati Oct. 8 East Carolina Oct. 15 Connecticut Oct. 21 at Temple Oct. 28 Navy Nov. 12 at Memphis Nov. 19 at SMU Nov. 26 UCF
  12. Matt Murschel of the Sentinel has USF at #45 http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/college/college-gridiron-365/os-college-football-countdown-no-45-usf-20160711-story.html I half expected them to have UCF higher than us. USF is ranked higher than UCF, East Carolina, SMU, Tulane, Navy, UConn, Tulsa, Cincinnati and Memphis in the AAC.
  13. Wow, simmer down a bit. I said "started to turn things around", which is true. Maybe I should of said seemingly, though. I deeply apologize. They won 5 out of the last seven to finish the season along with beating an ACC team. and, at least for me, there was a feeling of optimism for the next season. Sorry for getting you so upset though. I know this is really important stuff.
  14. This reminds me a little of 2011. Skip Holtz finally started to turn things around, B.J. had a great game beating Clemson in the bowl game and everything was looking golden for the next season. Don't mean to jinx it though.
  15. USF is #3 I know Taggart is still calling plays but but he won't have Hope's input. http://coachingsearch.com/article?a=Chart-26-schools-have-improved-scoring-offense-for-2-straight-years
  16. Kind of funny https://www.change.org/p/v-burns-hargis-big-12-expansion?recruiter=501220385&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=copylink
  17. Having a few winning seasons means about nothing for expansion. Drawing a crowd even during losing seasons would be more important. But the driving force is money. The University needs a large endowment, a rich and big alumni, big boosters, a big market as well as decent academics. Look at Boise St. They've been decent for years but they have a crappy market and horrible academics. USF's endowment is almost 5 times bigger (ahem). Our biggest selling points are out market, decent academics, recruiting and a future alumni. I realize that Harlan has to be careful about what he says but if I was him I'd be as aggressive as possible. I'd be begging Vinik to pimp us.
