    Not sure we can afford to have an assistant coach. We need a proven head coach that has turned losers into winners. Otherwise we should have let Heath coach next season and bring in a coach in waiting.

    Now that Pearl is off the board we need to get Howland or Buzz quickly before someone else grabs him and we're stuck with a coach worse than Heath. We need a big name coach and the other names mentioned just are not big name coaches right now. They might have good resumes but we need a splash hire and one that will create big waves. Unofrotunatley Pearl is out thus leaving only Howland as the best candidate to be a big splash hire.

    You have to get a bigger name. Howland would be best as it appears that Pearl is heading to Auburn.

    Does anyone know if we hired Pearl if we could put a clause in his contract that states if he gets us in trouble with the NCAA he can be fired with cause thus we wouldn't have to pay him?

    As far as know we still owe $1.5 million to Holtz regardless if he is hired somewhere else or not

    Leavitt is the best coach USF has ever had with Erickson not far behind. Heath is a very nice guy and a class act all the way and I would like to thank him for all he did here. I think this a move necessary to try and jumpstart the revenue producing sports and make us more appealing to a P5 conference. We desperately need to have men's basketball and football winning if we want to get in over that school to the east.

    I think we need to hire someone big even if it is a short term solution to help raise our profile up. Looking at SMU with Larry Brown he will not be there much longer but there profile has been raised significantly thus they will be more appealing for a better long term coach. I believe we need to do the same with the new coach. Go with someone for a short term solution and raise our prestige making us more appealing to other coaches and getting a better long term coach down the road.

    He's still banned by the NCAA for at least another year. He could coach but banned have anything to do with recruiting I thought it expires August of this year. Maybe you're right, has it been 3 years already? Wow time flies It does expire this august

    What a great way to end a pathetic season. Couldn't even box out on a critical play. This had to be the worst shooting team i have ever seen. Can't hit a 3, misses Ft's, can't box out on FT, and can only score in the paint. Sorry but this is on Stan and it's time to make a coaching change. Who does everyone think would be a better upgrade over Heath. Howland?

    I think Heath will be back next year but anything short of the NCAA Tourney or if he does not get 10+ conference wins next season and he is gone. But I wouldn't be surprised if he is not here next year with a new AD looking to make USF a more desirable school to add into a P5 conference.

    It's time to clean house in the men's basketball office. I don't see Heath coming back after the finish to the season if Harlan is the new AD but this is USF so it wouldn't surpass me to see up keep Heath one more year just because of the gross incompetence of the leadership at USF. Let's just hope this wakes up the board and they make the right decision which is to dismiss Heath and start over with a new coach next season.

    Anyone thinks we might have a chance to get Gregg Marshall. He interviewed for the job back in 2005 but was not chosen over Heath and look what he has done a Wichita State
