.... maybe as a nice little annual/biennial trip for their programs?

It will be interesting to see how the UConn football experiment plays out.

The experiment will flop and they will either go back to the FCS or shut it down completely, great move for hoops though.

Fortuna favors the bold and I would rather go down in a blaze of glory trying to forge our own path  than sheltering in place in the AAC as we destroy our athletic economy that may never recover.

Honestly, I thought the same thing but, to me anyway, the ability to get a media deal, even if only an ambiguous $7 million over 4 years figure, makes it a lot more intriguing. Big difference between us, though, is that UConn hoops can probably carry football for awhile ...

The BE is a better situation for them basketball wise but Jim Calhoun is long gone.  They will probably be able to get some better players here and there but the BE is a much more difficult conference from top to bottom than the AAC and they weren't exactly dominating the conference here.  As for football, they seem to be raising the white flag.

If they're raising the white flag for football, why bother with a media contract at all and just shut it down or go back down a level or two? Not saying anything will come of it but just doesn't look as bat **** crazy to me as I thought a few months ago and will be interesting to see how it progresses.

I think you have to define nonexistent...as of right now, other than 15,000 diehard fans we are kind of nonexistent.
