Rutgers 07 and it's not close. Sometimes when it's really really quite I can gear Greg Schiano, face matching his sweater in color, running down the sideline yelling at the ref while making a bull **** challenge...

Rutgers 07.  It's probably a combination of being a few years older and having a family now, plus being in a better conference with more of a path to a National Championship, but wins and losses just seemed to matter more back then.  I would think a loss to UCF for a shot at a conference championship would mean more since there was a lot of football left to be played in 2007, but the Rutgers loss just stung so much worse after the great start we had and all of the excitement over the team.

Rutgers ‘07.  Up until that horrid evening, it had been the uconn voodoo 5 game of ‘05.

There are many painful losses since Rutgers 07, but Rutgers 07 had the biggest impact.  It started a chain reaction of losses and misery.   We had something to lose, and we lost it big.  Also Rutgers 07 was one of those games where the officials meddled quite a bit in the outcome.  I don’t normally say that, but it was pretty obvious that evening.

Definitely Rutgers ‘07

The Oregon stomping in El Paso. Wife and I dropped more money on that trip than anything USF sports related. Just for the team to not even try. STILL have Jonathan Stewart nightmares. STILL

And who the F is Justin Roper

Citadel 1997... Just kidding. Rutgers is like a horrible red stain on your favorite USF t-shirt. You still wear the shirt, but that stain is so freaking annoying. 🤨

i had fun getting wasted in Juarez, enjoyed the SunBowl events, most of the Ducks fans we met were nice & while the UTEP stadium wasn't exactly a top notch facility, at least they sold tall boys of Tecate & the hills/scenery surrounding the stadium looked cool from inside, almost like they built the bleachers into the sides of a crater.

the game? sucked from the start. getting absolutely sharted on by Jonathan Stewart & a third string (?) QB was bad, but it worked out cuz we literally left the stadium after the 3rd & headed straight to the airport.

Oregon was certainly a bad game, but in the grand scheme of things it really didn't mean much. winning would have provided a little bit of redemption for the Rutgers loss & subsequent season meltdown, but win or lose it was a footnote in a season that completely fell apart after Piscataway. IMO it really seems that Rutgers loss sucked the wind out of the team & took the chip off their shoulders. they were never the same after that.

after going into a ranked, sold out Jordan Hare & beating Auburn then beating WVU at home in front of 68k fans, that team was capable of beating anyone... they just didn't.

Rutgers was extremely annoying, but alas I am aging and it is not as fresh as the Houston loss.   Still do not understand how they make a 4th down and forever....

The game CJL had to choke out that player.

Yet they could not beat Uconn which was appalling
