  1. Wow, that's a long list. All those places must be run by idiots How many were there?
  2. You're not attempting to debate me most likely because anything beyond, "Would you like a hot apple pie with your Big Mac?" is well beyond your comprehension.

  4. Aramark is a for profit company and does not work for a set fee. The last thing Aramark wants is for their client to see the internal figures regarding food cost, labor and net profit they are making. It isn't at all difficult to figure out those numbers. Food costs and labor costs are the same, no matter who is running concessions. Not really...good management can run better numbers, but all this seems to be too complicated for Academia anyway. With all your great wisdom of the burger and fries industry, please tell us why most sports venues and business contract out their food service needs rather than reaping all the profits themselves? Hold the onions! Most sports venues do not. Those that do is because of sheer stupidity. A quick list of a lot of those that don't contract out shouldn't be a problem then ...? Go for it then. LOL ... Not how it works, Sparky. You're just throwing out ******** until you back it up. Naw...You're not really interested in a discussion where you might actually learn something, you just want to be an obtuse blockhead. Never try to teach a pig to sing. It's a wast of your time and it frustrates the pig.

  6. The question would be is that 30% or gross sales or 30% of the net profit? It's not a question to anybody who read and comprehended that ... O-kay...Then tell me what is in Louisville's contract with their concessionaire. Is it 30% or gross sales or 30% of the net revenue? Anyone with any real world business experience at all knows the difference between the two is significant and why. The answer is in the numbers given in the article .... you're just playing stupid, right? Pete is a little slow. No, you and Trip are apparently easily fooled and actually believed the bogus numbers simply because you saw them on the Internet. Again, it's obvious the writer was making assuptions and doing some creative math based upon incomplete information. As a result, garbage in, garbage out.

  8. Your numbers simply don't add up... If you sold an average of 35,000 tickets at $40 each would equal $1.4 million per game X 7 home games = $9.8 million per year in ticket revenue alone. If USF schedules a team that will sell tickets for USF it could be held in RayJay (See Florida Gators vs Georgia Bulldogs for reference). USF right now could not sell 35,000 tickets at $40 each. Most tickets will be in a range from $5 - $25. And you obviously do not realize that 12,500 seats are student section. Students pay an athletic fee that doesn't come near $40 per football game. Well...UCF gets that much or more so I guess they have better fans, right? How much did Florida State fans pay for their tickets? $40 is just the average ticket price. People sitting between the 20 yard lines should pay more. People in the sky boxes should pay even more than that.

  10. The students of North Texas voted overwhelmingly to increase their athletic fees to help pay for their new stadium... October, 2008 - Students vote on a referendum to increase the athletics fee to help pay for a new football stadium. In one of the largest turnouts in school history, the referendum is approved by a 58-42 percent margin. http://www.meangreensports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=1800&ATCLID=205425442
  11. How many that are located close to NFL or municipal stadiums built their own in the last 20 years? Without doing a search FIU, North Texas and FAU comes to mind. http://www.fau.edu/stadium/
  12. Where was anyone advocating a new stadium be paid for with tax money? The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum is not technically "an NFL stadium." The Coliseum opened its doors to Los Angeles in June of 1923. Some 5 months later, on October 6,1923, the first football game was played in the stadium, with the University of Southern California hosting Pomona College before a crowd of 12,836, with the Trojans prevailing, 23-7. It was a modest beginning for a venue that would later play a very prominent role in college and professional football. The Coliseum has served as the home field for the University of Southern California Trojans since 1923. Additionally, countless historic events have taken place inside these venerable walls during nine decades of celebrated history. It is the only facility in the world to play host to two Olympiads (X and XXIII), two Super Bowls (I and VII) and one World Series (1959).
  13. I am staying at my friend's house through 2016 now. My example was if you were homeless(kicked out by wife, foreclosed home, whatever). Not just staying at a friend's house for a week lol. you cannot seem to understand that the football team really only needs to use a stadium 6 or 7 times a year. That is days-- a week -- not years--- not "through 2016" why is this so hard to understand how incredibly good the deal we have available to us is for this program? Screw the concession money and the parking--- we are making a ton from donations and ticket sales without the headache of managing a property on our campus that takes up space. Did you also know that the land USF is built on is leased (99 year lease from the state)? Every try to build on leased property? No bank will give you a loan for less than 50% down. I swore to myself I would stop responding to these dumb OCS threads which are usually started by uninformed and financial/business sense inept people. got me again. good luck with your BS thread -- out Yeah...About 500 colleges and universities across the nation have an OCS while only 3 or 4 do not. I guess the rest of the nation is simply not as smart as Judy and Doug.
  14. DataBull...You're still like a computer...garbage in, gargage out... The parking alone would generate millions in revenue. Hell, I had to pay $20 to park in a Garage H that seemed like it was a mile from the aluminum wok they call a stadium at UCF. Then there is all the income from concessions and ancillary revenues. Parking alone would generate millions in revenue? What are you drinking? There can't be room for more than 5000 parking space. At $20 a piece that is $100k per game. He didn't specify how long it would take to generate those millions ... At one Midwestern university I am familiar with it takes a *minimum* donation of $5,000 per year to get a parking spot in the lot adjoining the stadium. If you want to be guaranteed a parking space in that lot you better up your donation from the minimum, though. This ain't Mizzou. No, but odds are he is! Why do you think he paid $20 to park at UCF, and is going to the Swamp Nov 3rd? http://www.fbschedules.com/ncaa-12/big-12/2012-missouri-tigers-football-schedule.php JAPS BOMB PEARL HARBOR!
  15. I've been talking facts and figures from a venue management perspective, but I guess the numbers has caused a sensory overload with you. You remind me of the robot in the TV show "Lost In Space" I used to watch as a kid when he would start waiving his "arms" rumbling, rattling and smoking repeating over and over, "That does not compute! That does not compute! That does not compute!" And then he would shutdown. f**k off -- I've done the nmumbers over and over for a decade jackarse. I'm just sick of you piping in your little BS comments about USF when you are not even a fan. Get lost troll jerkoff Obviously, you don't take suggestion very well. I'm sure your co-workers really like you, though.

  18. USF gets 3000 parking spaces from the TSA, which they sell for $15 ea/game....That's $45,000 per game (for plantation man), or $270,000 for 6 game season. Realistically how many spaces are they going to sell on campus for games at an OCS? Well...3,000 cars only amounts to 6,000-8,000 warm bodies. Most college programs I know of require a very large minimum donation just to get the opportunity to pay $15 for premium parking or they allow one parking pass for every $5,000-$10,000 in donations. The next level down is $2,500 in donations to get a parking pass that's a lot a little farther away, across the blvd. etc.

Mizzou has thousands upon thousands fewer students than USF.

Do you really think the actual sales were $2,616,666.66? Maybe it's just a weird coincidence the exact figure had so many 6s and just happens to be a repeating decimal.
  23. Please, answer the following 1. Does USF operate the food and beverage concessions at the Sun Dome, and other venues (Marshall Center, etc) on campus? If not, why would they do it at an OCS? 2. USF doesn't operate the USF gear shop at at the Sun Dome (approximately 40 BB games/yr.), so why would they at an OCS (6 - 7 games a year)? 1. Never underestimate the lack of business sense from Academia. Serving up nachos and Diet Coke is not rocket science and most college students I've dealt with in the food service industry know how to do it if you show them how. Giving it over to a 3rd party is simply D-U-M-B, DUMB! 2. See above. IMO...You're the one who seems to be lacking business sense. I've been in food service management since 1978 and event promotion and production since 1996. How about you?
