I suppose I'll have to leave it as us disagreeing on your last statement. I do agree that I was hoping to see a bit more improvement on his passing game. However, I'm putting it down as an off game for now, until further evidence supports it. USF definitely wasn't firing on all cylinders today, and we still won 56-20 against a decent FCS side (as opposed to losing to a decent FCS side a couple years ago). That's encouraging to me!
Sure, that's a big deal in the NFL. Not as much of one in the NCAA. Last year he finished the year ~60%, today I'm putting down to jitters. I think he earned the benefit of doubt, until it develops into a pattern (i.e., more than one game).
Yeah.. it's the defenses he blows by that's in the rearview. Wtf is wrong with you trashing on QF? This is not the beginning of last season when he was still unproven. Show some respect.
I don't think anyone will dispute you on that. Fact of the matter, this is the deepest the QB position has been here since I've started following USF football (which is 08, my first year in college).
That's not what he is saying. Of course, on paper this is as deep as the QB has ever been at USF. The point is that sure they all are talented and have potential. But the fact of the matter is that no one can know how a QB (or any college player, but especially a QB) will do until they actually step on the field at the college level. The QB position has a huge mental aspect that can't really be accounted for until they see game time.
Which is why he is saying he hopes we put away some of the first games early, so we can give those QB's field time.
I disagree about your statement on running backs not being a premium in the NFL. Sure, there may not be as many 1st rounders as there were in the mid 2000's, there are still plenty of RB's being picked up in the first three rounds.
Look, it's pretty easy to sum up:
The only chance that AW sees the field next year besides mop up duty is if QF messes up big time on the field for multiple games, or a freak injury happens,
For some perspective, it looks like some WKU and other CUSA fans seems to think WKU will blow us out. So, just fans being fans about their team.
