  1. How well do we need to do for Weist to be retained as offensive coordinator? Or is it a forgone conclusion at this point that Strong will bring his own man (Gilbert) in?
  2. Thanks everyone for the interest!! I knew of one of the other Bulls podcasts, I didn't realize there were three out there (granted some are infrequent). My goal is to make this a weekly effort, I don't think there should be an issue there. And rather from being from the perspective of insiders/recruiting experts/professionals, I want this to be a "by fans, for fans" effort. Lighthearted spirited conversation on our favorite college program.
  3. Once I get the engine rolling, I would love to be podcasting weekly starting next season. Until then, intermittently while I set up the structure/foundation of this podcast.
  4. If/when I make this a regular thing, then absolutely! At the moment, just on Soundcloud (I'll try to figure out other ways to download it) EDIT: Here's a downloadable link for those who would like one: https://tvjunkie93.podbean.com/mf/download/zm23kn/USFBullsPodcast.mp3
  5. The Bulls could use a podcast, and I have the means and the will to make one. The pitch: I used to cover USF athletics in-studio for BullsRadio My co-host is a former USF cheerleading captain, who watched four years of games from on field. And we have a first episode to show for it. Recorded earlier this evening, we discuss the current state of the Bulls, compare the 2016 season to 2007, analyze the impact of Charlie Strong's arrival, preview the Birmingham Bowl, and ponder where our program goes from here. I think this first episode came out very well, and I look forward to your feedback. https://soundcloud.com/adrian-silberman-357581213/usfbullsconceptpodcast
  6. We should, which is why I think bringing Larry Scott into this new staff is an absolute must.
  7. Suffering through Skip Holtz was worth it, to get to where the USF program is today.
  8. As great as today is, hypothetically, lets say Florida and McElwain split (for whatever reason) sometime over the next 1-3 years... Assuming Charlie is successful here, he will be off to Gainesville without hesitation.
  9. Larry Scott as OC would be a slam-dunk for recruiting, while training USF's eventual successor to Strong in-house. However, with Strong having a defensive focus, we need an experienced playcaller for our offense. I don't think Scott fits that bill.
  10. Let's make this team Harder, Better, Faster, STRONGer
  11. Three years of practicing those horns looks to have paid off.
  12. IT IS DONE: Brett McMurphy Verified account ‏@McMurphyESPN 46s47 seconds ago Former Texas coach Charlie Strong has agreed to deal to become USF’s coach, sources told @ClowESPN
  13. I'm not thrilled with the lack of any news or insight since very early this morning. I feel like something, even if a small tidbit, should have dropped during the day.
  14. Good article just published on the current state of things: http://www.sportstalkflorida.com/featured/usf-coaching-search-updates-strong-remains-target/?utm_content=buffer89eef&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer Says Oregon DC rumors were nothing more than rumors, and that Gary H. Martin (the Texas booster who owned the plane Charlie flew in on) was also here, to make sure Texas wasn't getting screwed over in the contract talks. So looks like Texas is trying to have a say here.
  15. Clearly it's the intricacies of this grey area that's partially responsible for this hold up.
  16. I'd like to think it was one of the (few) boosters who wanted Charlie at Texas in the first place.
  17. Fresh article from ESPN on Strong/USF. No new info, but still worth checking out: http://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/18243353/charlie-strong-preliminary-talks-south-florida-bulls-head-coaching-job
  18. My thoughts on Lane Kiffin, as a candidate for USF: He has a huge negative stigma, but I'm willing to overlook some of it. His awful tenure at the Raiders? Well, he didn't make the stupid decision to hire a college coordinator to be the youngest first time NFL head coach. Kiffin accepted the gig; who wouldn't? He clearly needed more aging. Al Davis dun' goofed. At USC, he under-preformed (for USC standards), but he had as much success there as any coach since Pete Carroll, while dealing with harsh NCAA penalties. I feel like Kiffin, now 41 and coaching the best offense in the SEC, while learning under the best coach in college (no disputing that), is ready to take off. Because it's his next job (wherever that is), or bust. He will be lucky to be get a 3rd chance. There won't be a 4th.
  19. An undefeated Houston, with a conference championship, wins over top ranked Oklahoma and Louisville, would have made it into the CFP.
  20. Next year, we will have perhaps the most talented offense in the history of this program. No room for growing pains at the moment.
  21. Bring Scott in, develop him as a coach in waiting, because if we land Kiffin or Strong, they are also not sticking around long-term.
  22. Highlights from the Oregon board: "WKU has been better every year since he left" "If he can't recruit in the state of Florida how the F#@& is he going to recruit to Oregon?" "Is Taggart even an offensive mind?" "Looking at where Taggart's defense finished last year doesn't scream like Oregon is taking this defense thing seriously"
  23. I've been following that meltdown all night lol. Now they are getting into a racism discussion.
  24. Taggart is smart enough to know that he will have a better ready-to-go team next season at USF, than at any P5 team that hires him. Next year, he gets QF, Mack, Johnson, MVS, Dillion, maybe Tice if he gets the Medical RS, and even more all with an additional year of development. I can't imagine Taggart would leave that offensive goldmine for a rebuilding gig. That said, the following season when USF looses most of it's starting offense? Taggart's gone.
