Pitino was asked about being linked to the St. John’s job during the Maac championship presser,he said he would only leave Iona if he found another school that has won and will win year in and year out. He also said there is very little amount schools that currently do that.So I highly doubt he will come here. we will have to get a coach that has proven himself before and is on the rebound to prove himself again.Other wise we will get a assistant from some big school like always. I say just get chucky atkins and called it a day, he would be in penny hardways shoes.

Why are you really happy we didn’t get Deion? Have you seen the talent he has brought in to Colorado? Probably better then any year in USF football history.

I would take Wichita state coach over any assistant coach.

If they aren’t going to hire a coach that’s has good head coaching experience, I would go with Chucky Atkins over any assistant coach.

He wouldn’t be moving up, FAU will be in the American next year.

By the way I don’t think there is a plan in place when you have the assistant coach as the interim coach at the end of the season with no games left.

The problem is that established coaches probably won’t want to come here even if you pay more to match the other schools. Now if you want to pay 1-2 million more then the other schools are offering maybe we have a chance.

The plan is like always hire some assistant from a big program with no real coaching experience.

He probably wouldn’t leave FAU for us, FAU will be in the American next year.

I agree if your going to get rid of Gregory you have to hire a proven coach, but seeing how it’s going around USF sports they won’t do that.

We shot 90% from free throw line today, if we can stay above 75% most games we can win for sure. We would be above .500 if we would of shot above 70%.

They looked like the men’s basketball team at the end of games. That’s how they lost some of their games

To bad I don’t watch hockey or cheerleading competitions, because that’s the only teams winning around here. All the other teams just depress me.

They didn’t say anything, but I think I know why. They probably sat him for the game because of that stupid flagrant foul he had after the whistle against Houston, that cost us 4 points.USF was 4 or 5 points down before that. If I would of been the coach I would of went off on him after the game and told him to transfer if he wants.

He spoke about turnovers and points from turnovers, which is the difference in a lot of games.The funny thing is the men basketball team has that problem, they had over 15 turnovers.

For some reason I think we’ll keep it close and mess it up. If at least one player each half catch fire and we shoot good free throw. The game will be close. I guess the chances of that happening is 1%, like ESPN says.

The thing is everyone wanted Stan out even though he took us places we haven’t been.He had a bad season after that great season, But he had the greatest season in USF basketball season.So we have to have patience because ever since that year they fired him we been horrible.

I think that last call where Harris missed the layup was designed to get a quick 2 if it’s open or kick it for the 3. If they made a 2, they would foul and Wichita was missing their free throws at the end me of the game. If they missed one they would go for a quick 2 to tie or 3 for the tie, if they miss both go for the win.

I’m just saying we have to stick it out. Kelly gave him a new contract, maybe he should be fired. In the past 30 years we’ve only had about 9 winning seasons, so to be real we are not a basketball school. We’ve had a lot great basketball players come out of Tampa and they don’t give USF the time of day. Until we start winning regularly it will continue to be like that. I say let Gregory finish the season out, If we aren’t 500% he has to go. Then if we’re going to start from scratch and we can’t get a big name, hire Chucky Atkins he will give it all he has for the school he played for.

Fire him and then what? We haven’t been a winning program before him. We fired the only coach to take us and win a NCAA tournament game. There isn’t coaches or players lined up to come here. unless your hiring a big time coach it will probably be the same crap, some assistant with no head coach experience.

Just a heads up, In the past 30 years we’ve only had about 9 winning seasons.You can’t put it all on the coach. These players have to hit free throws, the coach can’t shoot them for you.It’s not easy to get good players here that’s just the reality of it.I don’t think starting all over is the answer unless we can get some big name coach, which we can’t. Let Gregory play his contract out and see what happens. we currently have 2 big problems. Number 1 - Tchewa was the leading scorer tonight but for his height he is softer then a cookie, I don’t ever remember him blocking a shot either.I wish we still had Durr, I saw him playing with UCF against Houston and he was holding his own. Number 2 - Free throws the reason we keep losing, which in my opinion has nothing to do with the coaches.We know who can hit free throws and who can’t on this team.
