  1. It's a virtual private network. You use it to route traffic (normally through encrypted protocols) through exterior servers. If you use a good one, you can choose your location, which would defeat a location block.
  2. Yep. I'm with Slick. I'm VPN -> Chromecast -> TV Working just fine:
  3. It should be an interesting game. When the SU offense clicks, it really does look pretty decent, but the defense is nothing special. Their QB does a good job of operating a hurry offense with reliable throws to short route targets. I think we win, but I feel a lot less confident about the bet I made on this game than the one I placed on the NIU game.
  4. Yeah, the Newhouse School at SU is top notch. I took a certificate program from Newhouse and the level of instruction was impressive. I'd put their upperclass undergrads against our local sports writers any day of the week.
  5. These videos look great. I can say, without a doubt, if Woolard was still AD, these would have a much different look to them.
  6. Louisville's offense is terrifying so far. That's going to be a tough game for FSU. If they come in 3-0, I'll be impressed.
  7. I thought this was a good article, as well, when I was reading it. Agree completely on the difference.
  8. Agreed. And when you do, someone states that this has already been mentioned. It happens to all of us -- myself included.
  9. I don't think any antitrust claim would have legs. While their actions are certainly anti-competitive, it would be trumped by the lowered ESPN subscription numbers and growing options on the sports fronts with NBC and FOX increasing their sports offerings. It'd be a hard sell, imo. [Edit] I mean, even Qatar is getting into the game with beIN SPORTS... lots of options coming -- especially on the digital front.
  10. Yep. In some ways, it would be even easier than the Big East dismantling. UT and OU are programs that any Power 5 conference would love to secure. The rumor mill sell on those two is way easier than team from the former Big East. And without those two, the Big 12 "Power" status starts to fall apart. That's why I'm not Big12 or Bust. Would I like to join the Big 12 over AAC? Definitely. Do I think we need to do EVERYTHING in our power to do so? If there is ever a chance for us to join the ACC, that's a more solid future, for sure. I can still see a time 5 years down the line where 4 mega-conferences destroy the Big 12.
  11. You're definitely right that it is unlikely that they could win, but it's also extremely unlikely it would ever make it to a point where the could 'win' in court -- I'm sure there are arbitration or mediation clauses. It would just be a way for them to force everyone back to the negotiation table and secure a better deal. That means uncertainty for Big 12. If they add new members based merely on expectations found in clauses in the contract and then ESPN flips the script... they have a mess. As much as I hate it, they need to make sure their TV partner will play nice with whatever decision they are making unless they're planning to leave ESPN for another company.
  12. I could be wrong, but I think he was referring to the fact that many of those sentences aren't sentences. I definitely could be wrong, but that's what I took from it.
  13. The picture was uploaded in 2011 -- not from a game in 2011. That's all I meant. Besides, someone else has stated it is from Miami, despite what the random website it is from says it was from. Regardless, it's just to show a full stadium versus the UCF/USF game from 2015.
  14. I take solace in knowing they're slowly being replaced by news writing algorithms like WordSmith. Continue to write your nonsense while you can... before the metal ones come for you.
  15. After half time, it was super sad -- like a dystopian wasteland. Mad Max: Enter the Brighthouse Dome
  16. Here is a picture I took from the USF v UCF game last year: Here is a picture of a USF v UCF game I found online from 2011:
  17. Yep. I'm with you on this one -- there's no way there was more than 10k people at that game.
  18. I was at the UCF game last year, there's no way they average 30,065 people that season. The average Friday night game at my high school had more people in attendance than that game.
  19. I don't think I'd risk him for NIU -- they don't look too great right now and we're deep at RB. SU, on the other hand, looks like they could be a pain in their new offensive scheme really starts to click.
  20. I'd agree with you that on that likelihood -- it's not a bet I'd take. I just can't rank them on potential that I was just sorely lacking in that game. Army is awful and Temple looked anemic. I'm sure they'll get their stuff together, but if Week 2 looks even a little bit lik Week 1 for them, they're in SERIOUS trouble. But UConn also looked exceptionally bad.
