  1. Just saw Taggart and the family WIllie Jr and company at Glory Days over in New Tampa. Was going to go over and shake his hand but had to cede and didnt want to interrupt the precious and Im sure rare family time. I hope Willie sticks around in Tampa, he seems like he may be the guy! Hopefully his roots and the schools potential keep him here!
  2. If QF takes a significant stride next year in his passing game we could very well be a 1 loss team.
  3. Out of those 23 attempts the vast majority of them were bubble screens, jet sweeps with the forward flip that technically counts as a pass. I just think that if we implemented some time of intermediary pass game our offense could be that much better. The tight end seam passes were money ALL YEAR we need to do more of that stuff. Plus we have the best receivers USF has EVER had. We need to utilize that strength.
  4. The past few days I have watched the game film for our team and here are a few takeaways from watching a good part of the season as a whole: Our inverted wishbone package where the 3 backs are in the backfield along with flowers and the other guys become lead blockers is absolutely our best package and hands down puts up the most production. Flowers elusive ability is one of the best in the country in my opinion. THE ONLY PROBLEM is that when he breaks out on the run a lot of his throws are inaccurate. He is always gonna have that escapability BUT if he can become a better thrower on the run we can be that much more dangerous. There were MAAAANNNYYY drives upon rewatching film that would have been extended had he hit his target after his scrambles. If flowers just MODERATELY improves as a passer, we can be a 10+ win team. Watching the offense you realize our run game is like a raging bull (no pun intended) that is being limited ONLY by our lack of passing and teams stacking the box. If we can improve this aspect of the game, WATCH OUT. AN INCREDIBLE AMOUNT OF THE SEASONS passing touchdowns were 50+ bombs that flowers would throw up to Adams or whoever else, whether it be off of flea flickers, or half back passes or the pump fake screen deep post pass. We relied a little TOO much on the big play. We had VERY FEW successful throws in the intermediate 15-30 yrd range. There were few times where Flowers actually went through his entire progression and picked apart the defense (whether that is because of the line not giving him time, or receivers not getting open, I dont know. Our play calling at the end of the year still had VERY FEW downfield pass plays. 90 % OF OUR OFFENSE was run plays, wr screens, draws, and dump passes. This is concerning as you would hope they would have more trust in Flowers throwing towards the end of the season. After watching film, going into next season in my opinion we have 2 huge factors that are going to determine wether we improve or stay the same: the defense (with Tom Allen leaving) and Flowers passing/ pass playcalling. If the passing game stays the same as this year and the defense stays more or less the same I think you could expect a similar result in our record. 8 or 9 wins. If the defense gets worse I think we are at best a 8 win team. If our passing offense gets moderately better and defense stays the same we are looking at a 10+ to 1 loss team IMO. Because if our pass just becomes a remote threat in the other teams eyes then our run game is going to explode and we will simply be imposing our will on other teams. Thoughts? Rebuttals? Lets get the conversation going, its the offseason.
  5. Potential is worthless if it never comes to fruition. Mack is the best back we have ever had, he has talent and work ethic and the intangibles. He will be playing on Sundays. I dont think we realize how well he does DESPITE our offense. Had he been at an Alabama or Ohio State, Wisconsin, he would be considered one of the best in the country
  6. Green Team Offense looks far and above superior. should make for an interesting game. I am glad AW is going to get to play most of the spring game and not split with Brett Kean
  7. Im pretty sure this statement is entirely hearsay and purely speculative. Everyone here is assuming just because we are not hearing him light it up that Kean is automatically better and he is slipping. There are a LOT of guys that look great spring that dont do anything. Practice all stars. aka chase whitehead reports last year
  8. Our defensive line could be GREAT this year. We FINALLY got Eric Mayes, DE who was highly touted, Tramal Ivy #4 JUCO DE this year, AND Calloway is coming back. These 3 guys could be a big time factor for our team this year.
  9. Who do you predict will come in day 1 and potentially be a gamechanger for next season? Any of the JUCO guys, or even incoming freshman, thoughts?
  10. THIS IS HUUUUUUUUUGEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
  11. I dont know that Woodie has the same chess skill that Tom Allen did but I can hoping that Jancek (ex Tennessee DC) who we brought in to be DB coach can contribute where Woodie may be lacking
  12. I am hoping that Jon Jancek will be in some capacity like a Co-Defensive Coordinator since he has the experience at Tennessee. If anything that would ease the transition for Woodie.
  13. I really hope our defense didn't have serious drop off from Tom Allen leaving. They were the catalyst of this team
  14. Who all is going? If so, would it be too much to ask to take a few vids of the qbs, flowers and woulard etc, as well as whatever else you find interesting to share with the rest of us?
  15. Ya, I said Woulard would come in for the package. As in be under center.
  16. BEST CASE SCENARIO: BOTH GUYS PLAY, WOULARD COMES IN FOR WILDCAT PACKAGE AND TRICK PLAYS With the amount of trick plays and flea flickers/half back passes you cant tell me were not gonna utilize AW in special packages. I believe just like Dernest got on the field when we had a prize horse like Mack, if Woulard is good Taggart will make room for Woulard to get on the field.
  17. My biggest question is what is our O LINE/ D LINE gonna look like. Also, what do people think are gonna be the surprises?
  18. i disagree i think cherry will get plenty of playing time based on packages. in which some he may take the place of auggie
  19. Either way this spring game will be one to watch, one of the best in recent memory
  20. The fact that he will still be involved speaks volumes on the mentality/culture that is being built into our team
  21. In all seriousness, it's probably Antigua getting the boot. Bausfkids last reveal had to do with MBB hiring new coach so he probably has a connection in that dept.
  22. I'VE GOT IT!!! JPP reaches settlement with ESPN for releasing his medical records for 150 million dollars. Donates 100 million to USF to build the stadium, has stadium named after him. Includes clause inside his settlement negotiating a 10 million/yr exclusive deal for USF to be showcased in prime time on ESPN during CFB season. Usf gets stadium, exclusive tv deal, and instant advantage above everyone else. Book it.
  23. Woodie may be unproven at the position but us taking on ex Tenn DC as a position coach is HUGE because he can help Woodie in that transition
  24. Technically we are looking at 6 4 star players!! Darnell Salomon ESPN/Rivals/Scout Craig Watts Rivals/Scout Andre Polk 247 Tramal Ivy ESPN Josh Dunn ESPN Glenn Bethel (pretty sure he was a 4 star last year, he didnt play so i would count him on this years class) Can you imagine how good our class COULD BE if we start winning the American????? I believe could potentially pull in Miami/UF/FSU guys especially since most teams in florida are having down years!
