  1. Ya i hear ya but imagine if they HAD started the year ranked at 20??? It would be a whole different story....Im telling you theres more to this than people realize.
  2. With the offense we have THIS YEAR, assuming Flowers and company come back. if we have a TOP 25 DEFENSE along with it, YES we will absolutely be in the running. ESPECIALLY if we seem to be destroying teams with a 30+ point margin. THAT will be almost impossible to ignore. What people dont realize is we will most likely play 2 maybe 3 ranked teams also next year between Houston/Temple/Navy.
  3. If we start off ranked in the 20's low teens, Go undefeated, and win games by large margins, yes we will be in, given the attrition that always happens every year with the rankings. Especially since it is perfectly plausible to see them playing up Charlie Strong as a resurging candidate should he take the job. And our defense will absolutely go top 25. It was when Tom Allen was here with almost the same personnel, and I personally believe Charlie Strong is a better defensive coach than TA.
  4. And here's why: IF we can hire Charlie Strong: 1. Our defense next year instantly is top 25. And if thats the case we all know were going undefeated with flowers and company still in the game. If we go undefeated next year putting up 45+ points every game BUT holding opponents to under 20. We WILL be in the CFP, no doubt about it. (given we will be ranked in the 20s high teens beggining of year if we win) 2. GUESS WHAT?? If we make the CFP next year and EVEN if Charlie Strong leaves, WE WILL be seen as the hot "Houston" team and we will get the best up and coming coach, which would continue to propel our success forward ala WKU. 3. In the realignment conversation we will all of a sudden be the hot commodity, which could increase our chances dramatically. If we get Charlie Strong, and he keeps the same offense, I say watch out. Were going to the CFP, almost no doubt about it.
  5. That's because we've played 9'games and the rest of the country has played 8 or less
  6. I'm sure there's a lot more similarities as well
  7. Including tonight's game, flowers is neck and neck with Lamar Jackson in overall stats and efficiency. Both have just over 900 rushing yards, flowers has a few less attempts Both have right around 2000 passing yards. Flowers has thrown 17 TDs 5 INTs, Lamar 18 and 4 INTS Both have about 58 59% completion rate Ya flowers did it in more games but the attempts are all the SAME virtually. VERY Impressive IMO
  8. Alright so if we win win out, by the time our championship game rolls around we will be ranked 19/20, sound about right? then championship game Houston is top 10 probably 7/8/9. We beat them we probably jump 5 spots to about 14 or 15. At this point how are we not eligible for a TOP tier bowl?
  9. But if we were to win out and finish the season ranked you don't see us playing in a top tier bowl?
  10. BEST CASE Scenario we play one of the so called big name Florida schools, Florida, Miami, FSU. I would LOVE to play FLORIDA. that would be an INCREDIBLE boost to our program should we beat them. anyone see any chance in that matchup happening?
  11. not to sound super ungrateful or pushy but when do you think the stream will be up Python?
  12. Our defense has taken a significant step back this year. By all accounts our defense should've been BETTER this year seeing as Byrd was the only major loss and all the other guys would have had an additional year in the system. I knew Tom Allen was a huge part in our success last year and that he would take the defense identity we had with him unfortunately. We have got to be proactive and do something. Much like we brought in the kinnan as the offensive consultant and it worked WONDERS for our team, we have GOT TO get another defensive coach/consultant in there. Or we are going to lose down the stretch. Raymond Woodie is an amazing recruiter and I fear he was promoted to keep him here but herhas not properly utilized the talent of our guys. if we play a team with a good defense, we will lose outright, hate to say it but it's more than likely. UCONN sneakily is one of the best teams we will have played so far. They have always given us a hard time and neither side has won in the past 10 years by more than one score. any ideas on realistically what we can do?? I don't see woodie getting demoted or anything like that down the road.
  13. I think A HUUUGEE positive for this game so far has been how little to no penalties weve gotten the entire game! A very encouraging statistic
  14. I imagine since Johnson is 210+ , as a returner these guys on punt team are hesitant to tackle him
  15. man his passes are floating and the receivers still have so much cushion....
  16. The longer this game stays competitive the more Syracuse gets momentum in their favor....this coaching staff has to put their foot on the throttle and not look back....honestly MACK has BARELY been utilized this game...its nuts
  17. MAN what the heck....how do we go from scoring 28 unanswewred to we cant get a first down?!??!?!?!
  18. WOW BOTH TIMES QF couldve picked up the first with his legs and throws instead......
  19. If we play like this against FSU dalvin cook and francois will torch us
