So now that we are one of the top 25 teams in the nation, will the NCAAT be a lock?
Unfortunately, no.

USF now has a 3 game lead over 2nd place Charlotte/ FAU !!!
A win at Charlotte pretty much clinches the AAC regular season championship and #1 seed in AAC tournament. Wow

The mind-blowing season continues. A conference-leading Bulls team wins its 13th straight game when they are badly outrebounded but are handily victorious by -- GASP -- outshooting a good team. And I just returned from a sports bar in Hickory NORTH CAROLINA (land of Tobacco Road basketball) and the feature game on the televisions was USF!
Go Bulls!

is is as good a place as any, so here's a thought. Why not set up an NIL account like an endowment? Yes, I know there are monies needed immediately, but what if your giving was perpetual? I personally would like to see my little donation grow into something more substantial than merely a coke and an ice-cream bar every year. And no, I don't have more to give.
Yep. I hope that what I have previously donated was invested wisely as I am tapped out. I do appreciate that the NIL system has freed me up from any guilty feeling that I need to donate more.

Freaking hilarious, folks that had zero interest in the team a few weeks ago forking out over a grand to see them play now
Dang! If I had just kept pouring my donation and season ticket money in for another 20 years or so it would have finally paid off.

We probably haven’t heard much about USF recently because nothing is happening or people actually in the know aren’t tweeting about high level negotiations or plans.
Those that really matter don't announce their intent until it suits their needs.
The Illuminati's Master Plan and the New World Order will play out in its own time.

First Black student-athlete at USF ....
The first athlete didn’t even get on campus until a few years before that, Who was that guy or gal? Either way, I am celebrating, it is a moving story!
Not sure who was "the first athlete" on campus but for us old-timers, USF has oft recognized Bill Keegan as its first varsity letterman. I dealt with Bill a lot in my time with the Bulls Club Board and Iron Bull fundraising efforts. Also a good guy.

TAMPA, Fla. (February 23, 2024) – Brick by brick, win by win, the USF men's basketball team has built one of the most special seasons in program history. Now you're getting back to my early days of fandom. Good stuff!
BTW, the pic in the story shows Glenn Dupont, my brother's high school teammate and one of the reasons I first became a Bulls fan.

Nothing we haven't seen before. No shake up?
Instead of Utah, I think the CFP Committee will give Notre Dame two slots and select Bama's practice squad over Tulane.

Let’s not overlook Tulane, too. They are quite capable. They have some bad losses but they beat Memphis, lost to FAU by 1, SMU and Charlotte by 4.
Exactly. I've watched the wacky American this year. I am not expecting any gimme putts to close out.

Maybe I have lived too long and seen too much but I still think we need to finish regular season strong (better than .500) and win (or at least make a strong showing in the final) of the AAC tourney in order to get to dance.
Hopefully, this team will make all that speculation moot and continue to win out. It should be fun to watch the outcome regardless.
Go Bulls!

I think the main urgency to get into a P4 conference at this point is not CFP, but the afterlife.

You must be drunk if you think the replacements overall are better than Hou UCF and Cincy.
Sober (at least so far this morning) and don't have anything against Houston or Cincy, but maybe any conference is "better" without those other guys whose name shall not be mentioned.

In 2019 we went 24-14 and won the CBI.
2019: 24 wins = most total wins in program history
2024: 13 wins = most conference wins in program history
Don't want to take anything away from 2018-2019, but we went 8-10 in conference that year. Our CBI final against Depaul alone consisted of 3 additional games. A great year regardless, but 2018-2019 was nothing compared to what this team is accomplishing this year.
Hopefully we can finish strong, and this year will be one for our record books
I tend to agree, hence why I left it out of our best records. To me, the best record would be considered to be either:
(1) the best overall winning percentage (is 25 wins better if you lost 24?); or
(2) A season where the team won consistently in the regular season and had a meaningful tournament presence.

Yes, it depends on what you mean by "best record."
In 1976 we hade the highest winning percentage at 19-8 (.704).
In 1990 we went 20-11, won the conference tourney and went to the NCAA tourney, losing in the first round.
In 2012 we went 22-14 and went to the second round of the NCAA tourney.

Who’s tuning in for that SMU at FAU game on Thursday? A good one and an important one. Good hoops is played in the AAC, despite what some think.
I have found it very entertaining to watch, if sometimes confounding. The last couple of Memphis games in particular have left me scratching my head.

I'm just glad to see that, thus far, we have changed the script this season so that the other team is carrying the "close but no cigar" motto in these basketball games. Keep it up boys, whatever you are doing.

12 as a AQ is respect, where we were almost good enough to get in without the AQ, as the at larges run out around the 11 seed.
It certainly shows that the super slim hopes for an at-large bid are still there if this team can win out until the conference semis or final.
I like our chances without winning the conf tourney about as much as FSU's CFP chances with winning the ACC with an undefeated season.
