When fans just walk away. Find other, more wholesome, entertainment.
Yes, in that regard, I have found recent events somewhat liberating. Instead of being so invested -- emotionally and financially -- I just drop in and watch for fun when I want to.
Besides, I can still get my money's worth coming here beach, moan and commiserate with my fellow disillusioned curmudgeons.

Problem is, if you're a "have-not" you have almost zero chance of ever changing your station and becoming a "have" - and the "haves" don't need to be successful in order to remain "haves"
It is an unfair and exclusive system. How does it continue?
Some have these views and questions regarding life and the world in general. And yet, somehow we persevere.
My question now is, will midseason transfers become the next "new normal," so that the Big Boys in contention can load up for that playoff run?

Guy wasn't good enough to win here. He hasn't won an fbs game is over 3 years. Good mentor, qb voice. And maybe a decent coach, but you can't count on him to win. Winners win on the score board . Losers make excuses for below average performances.
I always though it was hard for me to mentally reconcile his 2021 season with his subsequent performance, other than the CJS factor. And I liked everything about him -- except for that not-winning thing.

They said they saved $4 million and two months of work by pivoting to a different foundation system for Tallahassee’s sandy clay soil.
What kind of foundation did they recommend for a curse-free athletic facility at USF?

Yep, and that message is as much for his players, present and future, as it is for other coaches
I would say much more so. What other coaches may do is not the key to relevance.

The "one-and-done" mentality has trickled over into the new NIL/portal universe. What was once reality for only some of the elite programs now is true for everyone. To paraphrase Jerry, we will have to root for whoever dons the slime.

You thought I was being serious. Anyone who knows the history between USF Football and Gemshaft know she doesn't deserve a statue to honor her at the OCS. Now build one for Jim Leavitt in spite of Judy, so everyone knows when they enter the stadium the godfather of USF is watching.
I would be for this, until he went to a ucf game and tweeted about USF.

I found a way to avoid all this confusion and yesterday gave what little reserves I have left to the fine folks running my federal and state governments. It really took all the discretion out of discretionary spending.

Transfer rules do not allow players to talk to schools prior to entering the portal. So, I believe they need to enter the portal for coaches from other schools to speak with them.

The whole thing sucks but not surprised or disappointed, I am still on board however there are no life boats left and the ship just split in half. Kind of comical that they off loaded paying the players to the fans, the result will be less fans. Eventually everyone has their limit, even die hards like myself reach it. I understand the argument that the powers to be only care about the bottom dollar and they will be fine however I see this going down like boxing, it simply disappeared. I will not throw a hissy fit, or yearn for the past, best to simply leave and move onto something else to enjoy until someone decides to ***** that up.
Just move forward. I’m never going to stop being a USF fan so I don’t care if all the programs have nothing but a walk-ons. I’m still going to be here following USF athletics. Future is still bright despite the portal craziness. Go Bulls!!
From now on let's just play shirts vs. skins pickup games. It really won't matter whose got next. Maybe we can find some awesome talent like I brought back in the day.

Noles look for real. They drubbed the Gville Lizards 19-4 last night and took the three-game series by an aggregate score of 45-15. Even the Bulls hung better in Tally.

It was pretty obvious in his commitment speech he was committing to Calipari. Would be stunned if he wasn’t a Razorback.
I tend to agree, but I wish he could spend a little time in Arkansas before committing.

He had committed to ETSU out of school, but didn't attend when Dad was let go and came to join Coach Amir's staff. From what I remember, he was a decent prospect with some length and could shoot it.
Ditto from above. Would be nice to build a little more of the USF "family" in MBB.

it has absolutely always been that way. some people just have some idyllic vision of the past that didn't really exist.
Things get better and worse every day, same as it always was.
That said, I think the current state of college athletics blows.

Ironically, I am a "Bad Bob" who fled to the hills of NC and thought I took my 50+ years of Bulls jinx with me. I will gladly let my title belt pass to you if you want it.

I'll tell you this right now, I’m not donating $20 a month to NIL so I can buy some kid Chipotle once a month whilst he also gets a free education (unlike mine, which I had to pay for). Shut the whole system down, college sports are ruined. Can’t wait to see what happens to all of this over the next 10-20 years. The divide between the haves and the have nots is going to gape wide open until it no longer works. Are we going to be shutting down athletic programs left and right in this country and only allowing the strongest to survive? Are we going to begin merging schools? This was a mistake.
I don't think the kid is eating Chipotle on your dollar, but I get your point and it is valid. I know a lot of fans are frustrated that players want more, more, more when they didn't have the same opportunities. Student/Athletes should be grateful for everything they get. Whether we like NIL or not, it's the current model and we can embrace it or complain.
For me personally, I have grown to hate professional sports. I don't even enjoy watching it anymore. I like USF because I feel like the joy to play is pure. I look forward to showing up and cheering on the guys who put on that uniform and dive on the floor. Win or lose, I can respect that. Or you can pay Ben Simmons 200M to sit out because his feelings were hurt
Everyone has to define what they think is right for them in their relationship with Bulls and donations. While I was a longtime donor and very active in USF athletics fundraising, between the changes in the college athletics landscape and my own late-life transition in finances and interests, my donation days are pretty much....
I will still support the University, but Bulls athletics is now just strictly a (hopefully) fun diversion.
