  1. Yes, we lost, we think we're going to lose, get demolished, or other. So you're gonna sell your tickets to Seminoles? And let them outnumber us in our own stadium? And we get ragged on our fanbase and we do nothing about it. Tennessee has been awful for years and 101k+ still go to their games despite who they are. And yes, I know, they have 400 years of football and national championships behind them. But regardless, you can't be passive as a fan no matter how bad your team is. I'd rather have 64,000 green and gold's in there facepalming ourselves and sitting on our hands than 47,000 garnet and gold's cheering in our faces and giving us the middle finger I bought season tickets just for this game. Win or Lose, I am going. We're slated to lose. And if the ship is going down, you'll find me drowning with everyone else. And if we win, those stupid fools will be sitting at home cheering from their couch wishing they had gone to something so incredible. And I'll be the one rushing the field (and getting tazed)
  2. Wow... are these the signs that AREN'T going to be on ESPN?
  3. Everytime we've been ranked, we end up unranked 100% of the time.
  4. Is this something we need to worry about? Back to sea level, completely gassed, some of our men are injured and banged up. It was a complete dog fight and some of them may have just went through a World War. I was even out of breath just watching them run We have ~4 days of recovery before our next showing. What's the verdict about how well we can recover from?
  5. Is anyone actually getting tired watching Nevada run? I'm out of breath and I'm laying on the couch and feel like I need oxygen. Are they that fast or are we really that slow?
  6. Honestly, I'll take the heat for the geography mishap if it means a "W" in the column for us Although, I'd not a firm believer and ultra superstitious about stats and history. Ever since the whole "Bobby Bowden is 30-1 against first time opponents" and we broke that hex, I've been on the half-full side. Even Florida who was 'unbeatable' at home started losing games. Rewrite the history book... GO BULLS!
  7. Oh wow... I didn't think El Paso was that far out haha... I guess those mountains behind the Sun Bowl belonged to the rockies "It took the children 40 minutes to locate Canada on the map." "Marge, anyone could miss Canada. All tucked away down there."
  8. This game wasn't west of the rocky mountains -- it was in El Paso, TX
  9. Triple, it's interesting you say that because I just bought season tickets today near that section (guaranteeing my FSU game). If student request tickets are out by the end of the season (which I hope, because that means interest will peak), I will have myself over there. So I'm in 126, directly across from there. You a native of that area? Is that the alumni? Looks to be a decent time everytime I glance over... maybe you can give me some input (or someone else on the board)
  10. Mike, I know my days are limited haha I know someday I'll be among the elite in the east and west side of the stadium, but I hope I'm not going there with people who are apathetic about the game I just want to see the stadium get electric and get more engaged in the game. The only way I can do that right now is to be in the student section. Thankfully, these students who are as rabid and vocal as me will soon (here's hoping) become alumni as well and will have the inherited spirit to bring it to their new section of the stadium wherever they end up.
  11. I'm trying to get a screen grab but nobody seems to be getting in the end zone :/
  12. tear out the red seats put in green seats remove all the black and red field paint have the student section lift the pirate ship and toss it over the edge
  13. as long as they are legal it is all good we're all friends here!
  14. Profanity is always in the student section... you can't tell them to stop... it's almost like where it belongs. If there' s a bad call on the field, you automatically know what's coming. I still figure while I have the legs, the voice, and the spirit, I can do what I do. I just want to see the gameday atmosphere change. And it's true, FCS game vs BCS. I anticipate a different story come Florida State
  15. Love your support. I really do. Don't take this the wrong way, but it's time to move to an alumni section. Take that support and spread it to other parts of the stadium. Do you still tailgate with students too? Just my honest opinion. Don't get me wrong, I understand the creeperness . I don't tailgate with students, I tailgate with my friends. We just park in a random lot and go at it. I'm not scopin out anyone in the north end zone, I just enjoy being as crazy as the next guy. There will be a day when that will end, but for now I have option to do it. Most of my friends are grad students so they get me the access. I would move, but like I said I'm in there for the atmosphere. I love being rabid -- screaming, standing, participating in all the cheers... you know... all the things that make a big game atmosphere that much greater. I've tried twice to sit in other sections and I did all of the aforementioned. I got lambasted by fans telling me to sit down, stop screaming, and watch the game. I knew that was no place for me. Maybe it's time that I just sit on my hands? Is the alumni section just as good as you say it is? It's embarrassing to the fans when a someone my age tries to get everyone hyped up in a section that would rather me sit down and keep quiet. It's like that guy at the Rays game who does the same thing, but everyone is so complacent. They understand why he's doing it, admire him because he's doing it, but it doesn't mean they'll get up and join him. And yeah guys come on... we're all getting older
  16. 3:48. Why can't we always do that? Thanks for the upload -- it looks great!
  17. A little background of myself since I'm a rare poster on this forum, but I'm a "31 year old, c/o '04 die hard who won't sit anywhere but the student section" fan. I still have a lot of friends who go and buy guest tickets, I prefer to be in the section because of the atmosphere. I yell, I scream, I bang on the chairback in front of me. Don't knock me because I don't buy the season tickets as a rabid fan -- I still pay my $9, I still go to games, I still support my team. Just on the north end zone. I tried sitting other places before and it seemed so dead to me. My only gripe is that we (I hate to say that because I'm no longer a student!) showed up in droves last night (awesome turnout), but only made noise when we had to (which were very limited). There were signs of life the entire time -- scattered around, but most notably at the bottoms of the section toward the field. There were many students (including myself) who looked back towards the middle of top of the section with students just sitting on their hands and encouraged them to get up. The looks of lethargy and complacency was evident in the stale bodies of the student section -- a vast majority. They were saying on 98.7 last night about the atmosphere and that they can hear it and feel it down on the field, and that's what drives them. And they were begging for more of it. However, it's the fact of the matter -- Chattanooga. First game. Inept offense and a general overall cloudy day at RJS. I expect this to be quite different vs. Florida State. We just need to up our game in the student section. Look at Autzen and Ben Hill Griffin. Just absolutely rabid. Those aren't the students. That's the atmosphere. That's 100% of the people, a good 100% of the time. Granted, we have that, but it's only going to grow if we start being rabid in the student section. Just my thought. On the contrary, I'm proud of what we're doing. I do feel that because we're building traditions here... these students are going to graduate and return and the numbers will keep growing. And then the next class -- the next class -- and so on. 10 years ago, people came to these things walking in with graphic tees and hollister shirts on. Even Florida and Florida State apparel littered our stadium. It was an excuse to watch something on saturday night, share a beer, and watch Indepedent football. I look at the east and west sides of our stadium in 2012, and I start seeing the horns go up, people, alumni, fans, family, all wearing green. This is getting better. This is getting so much better. In a few years the "SOUTH FLORIDA" spell out during the fight song will encompass the entire stadium as loud as our neighbors to the north (which I'm always envious) Diarrhea of the mouth... but still proud of what we have done. Of course, winning takes care of everything. So let's start with that GO BULLS!!!!!!!
  18. But we always do well when we're the underdog Thoughts? Too low, too high, just right, hard to tell? GO BULLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. I'll chime in. Traditions are not supposed to be thought up by people thinking "You know what -- we need a tradition" Really... what happened? We beat Aubs, a couple of drunken frat boys brought plastic blow up birds to the game and were featured on National TV. It was hilarious. It was a nod to what we just did, beat Auburn, rising to promenance, about to beat WVU in front of a prime time audience. And it was on the road to what was supposedly the greatest year in USF football history. Everyone still talks about the flamingo in '07 -- bad or good. And the great thing is, 10 years, 20 years, 50 years from now, people will still tell the story about War Flamingo. Of course, it'll end up with "We beat the Akron Zips, and there was a sorority tailgating in the north lot with flamingos, all got arrested, and this is our homage to them" Doesn't matter. It's tradition. I still firmly believe traditions should not be created for the sake of tradition. Things are spurs of the moment, like someone who thought of the wave. Or someone who thought of throwing the horns up in a circle while playing #8. Or banging on the backs of the chairs of the people in front of us during kick offs. It just takes 2, 5, 8, or 30 people to think of something interesting, very small, and having it spread like wildfire. I approve this... it's stupid, it's weird -- but it's a conversation starter, it says we're unique, and most importantly -- it's ours. We don't wear a PATCH. We don't jump up and down to Zombie Nation. WE ARE -- WAR FLAMINGO!!!!!!!!!!!! :GoBulls: :GoBulls: :GoBulls: :GoBulls: :GoBulls:
  20. They've dropped off the radar ever since Tebow. They know their role now. UCF thinks they're entitled now, boasts their C-DOA championship, and rips on our "smoothie throwing fan base"
