  1. Examples? And if these are so-called proven coaches, yet nobody in the P5 seems to want them, do you think that perhaps there is a reason why? I mean, why poach away Taggart who has an overall losing record at two schools in baby conferences when there are perfectly good proven coaches available? And if we do catch one of these unicorns that we don't have to worry about jumping to another school in five years, we just have to worry about them retiring in five years.
  2. Probably, yea. That's pretty much how life works for most people, right? Work hard, be successful, earn a higher salary, usually from a different company trying to lure you away. Why do we expect coaches to be different? The fact is, if we are playing the way that we desire, having 10+ win seasons and winning championships, then people are going to be coming after our coaches. Period. Whether it's an established name or an up and comer. That's a reality that you are hopefully just going to have to get used to. Do we want to find that world-class coach who has the desire to coach at nowhere except the University of South Florida? Of course. Who doesn't want to win the lottery?
  3. Its early. But yes, you are right of course. I still think a two loss P5 conference champion has an edge over an undefeated baby conference champion.
  4. One-loss Big 10 Champ Penn State didn't get in the CFP; you really have to be sipping the koolaid to think we'll get in. That's not really the point, though. Just being in the conversation would gain us notoriety, both in terms of attracting coaches and recruiting players. I'm with you that this could potentially be the best thing for us; it's not out of the realm of possibility.
  5. I know we are all disappointed right now, but lets be clear: this isn't "same old story" for us. We've had ONE coach drive us into irrelevance, and then this guy came in, fixed his mess, and is now leaving for better things. It would have been nice for him to stay, but he left just like 95% of other would have (and we already hit our 5% so we're "running good", if you will). This feeling is new territory for us; it's unnerving, but it's a product of our success. Don't forget that. The main point here is that this is a GOOD thing (if not the best possible outcome). If other schools are interested in our coach, that means we are succeeding and are on the upswing. I certainly favor that over having to fire a failing coach, don't you? We're not the first mid-tier school to get their coach poached, and we won't be the last. Hell, I hope we are going through this again in a couple years, because that means we are continuing to win. This is how we start to become a top tier program. A guy gets poached, someone comes in to replace him, he gets poached, so on and so forth until either we become a legitimate destination or we get "that guy" who sees us as his dream job. It's crucial that we hire the right guy to replace CWT. We all experienced the Skip fiasco, and we know how a bad hire can suck the momentum out of a program. Thankfully, we're set to compete and win the conference next year, which both increases our appeal to quality coaches and makes the actual transition easier.
  6. No no, certainly not the best win ever. But it was still a very nice comeback!
  7. It was just one of those games. Sure, we have lots to improve on, esepcially defensively. I cannot express the aggravation I was feeling watching much of the game. But it was nice seeing our guys have heart and not give up and pull it out at the end. I'm enjoying the win as well.
  8. If I were neutral, that was a hell of a game to watch. As a Bulls fan, it was frustrating seeing our defense play so poorly. Honestly, that was a terrific game. It was going to hurt a lot for whichever team ended up losing it. I'm just glad our Bulls came back and hung on.
  9. um look at the OP date It doesn't really matter if we're talking about this year of four years ago, his point is still relevant.
  10. You expect to win the national championship next season? Those are some pretty high expectations
  11. That Scout.com article is messed up. They have UConn at WVU as one of the top 10 games? It's probably not one of the top 20. Then they leave off Rutgers at Louisville? And Pitt at Rutgers? What in the hell is wrong with them? Then they are slobbing on Maryland's knob by having their OOC games against Rutgers and WVU as top 2? And WVU at Marshall top 10? I'm not sure of all the OOC games, but it seems as they could find a better #10. ANd almost certain wins against only ELON and FAU? Ladies and gents, we are still [somehow] underrated.
  12. The majority of the beef studs are MORONS. Nilla is certainly not an exception; he is a perfect example. He and Red are the worst. At one of the football games, they did nothing but torment other Bulls fans. One dude was wasted, and he was vomiting. They did nothing but abuse (verbally and a little bit physically) him and his girlfriend for WELL OVER half of the game. Another gentleman was in the front row, and he would sit down during TV timeouts. The beef studs were all over his case, yelling "REAL FANS DON'T SIT!" (remember, this is not even during play, it's a TV timeout), and demanding he leave, in a not-so-nice way. The finally got tired of the abuse and started yelling back, but then a few minutes went over to them, extended his hand, and offered to make amends. The response from the Beef Studs? "Say one more ******* word and I'm going to hit you in the ******* jaw" (they said this including the explatives that the profanity filter edited). At that same game, Red got in the face of a female, to the point that he had to be restrained by another person. Seats are first come, first serve. The Beef Studs always sit in the same area, but if someone beats them to it, there is nothing that they can do. But instead, they try forcing other fans out of "their" seats. The Studs claim they they pride themselves as being the first ones in the door (said by Red), but that's misleading. They send two or three guys in to hold seats while the rest continue to get smashed in the parking lot. Shouldn't the Beef Studs bring Bulls fans together, not drive them apart? The Beef Studs were AWESOME back when Brandon Faza was here and in charge, but times change. Now, they are pretty much just a bunch of punk kids. For a FUNDED ORGANIZATION, their behavior is unacceptable.
  13. Was is a short ugly kinda fat blonde chick? She was causing a lot of problems at the football game too (not to mention, she did "push-ups" while in a skirt, which almost made me vomit) *EDIT* Didn't realize that was you Billy
  14. What'd they do this time? It's always something with them when we play Syracuse apparently Hahaha, that's funny. That was the syracuse football gme when they acted like idiots, wasn't it?
  15. I can't help but laugh at all of you idiots bashing ProfessaBull. Are you all really THAT bored that you have to start false drama over a comment that clearly had no "smearing" intent? All the dude said was that "Ponton could be next". We have one guy getting anal about his dreadful SMEARING of Ponton in that statement (lol?). We have another guy say that ProfessaBull (or even the website) are inviting legal troubles. You guys need to relax and stop being so anal.
  16. Maybe it's time to fire Gruden and pick up Marty
  17. hasn't done much yet, but it certainly couldn't hurt us
  18. Backups? WHO NEEDS BACKUPS? Those girls are beasts. They're hungry. THey don't need no backups!
  19. Well yea, that's kind of the point people are trying to make. There's too many people who think that we are(or should) fill the stadium after a year, and things just don't happen that quickly. We need to win the games we are supposed to win, and we need more upsets. If we just keep winning, it will happen, but things take time. Personally, after how we finished last season beating WVU and winning our bowl game, I'm interested in how that is going to translate into attendance.
  20. Are you retarded? Why would you want our conference rivals to get a player of that caliber? Remember, they are our COMPETITION, not our allies. I would rather UCF get him. You can talk about "conference prestige" and all of that, but the number one goal is to WIN the conference, and other conference teams piking up star players does not help us win games. Do we hope that the Irqqi insurgency gets stronger, so we can give them a "good job"? Of course not. Extreme example of course, but I believe it still applies. Am I retarded? Not last I checked. Look, this isn't war...this is college football. These are high school kids choosing a college. If a local kid gets a chance to attend a bigtime university, then that's great. Only a "retard", as you say, would take it waay too seriously. (The Iraqi war? C;mon…) As for being happy he stayed in conference….do you think that being in a conference of teams with nothing but 2 star recruits is better for OUR program…or a conference full of 5-star recruits? I say the latter. We have nothing to be scared or insecure about, because I'm confident that no matter who the other teams recruit, we'll still be competitive. If we're the champion of a strong conference, that bodes much better for us than being the champion of a weak conference. Even in rivalries....OSU is better off playing a strong Michigan team....FSU better off playing a strong UF squad.... Yes you can hate the other team...but it does you no good to play a schedule full of FIU caliber opponents. Their strength is always to your advantage if you can defeat them. Otherwise, we might as well be back in C-USA. Get a grip. Look, I'm not taking this seriously, even if my post cam eoff as that. WVU got (well, was going to get) a star player, the number one back in the nation. Good teams are going to get good recruits, and that's nothing to be mad about. However, to root for our main competition to win these top recruits and be happy that they won is a bit dumb, in my opinion. Do you think LSU is going "Good job Florida, we're happy you got a good recruiting class!"? I doub't it. Do I wan't a conference full of cupcakes? No, not at all. But I don't want the top recruits in the nation here, unless they are on the Bulls, of course. Basically, I'm not (wasn't?) mad that he committed to WVU, but I certainly wasn't HAPPY about it.
  21. ?????? With the relatively safe assumption that the BE powers and Auburn do not collapse next year and we are one of their few losses, IF we beat Auburn and everyone else (Did you not mean undefeated?) we would easily be in the top 10, would likely be in the top 5, and might even have a decent shot at going to the NC since we will likely be starting the season between 25 and 30......... I need to learn to read the whole thread before I reply, eh? ;D
