I normally do not get into an argument with smazza.......but I disagree with him on this issue.  We definitely can compete for the BE title.  We have a returning team with talent, and we can and I do believe we will win more games.  I fully believe that this year or in 2008 we will win the Big East title. Steve, there are times when your negativity is sometime hard to deal with.  We are doing very well.  I believe most of the posters agree with this sentiment.  GO BULLS!!!! Very well put, we should compete for the Big East title. We did not suceed last year becuase of our poor poor running game i think. No with 3 solid RB;s we should be much better in that category.

Down to the competition?  Doesnt St johns have a better conference record than us?  Didnt they crush us last year?  They were favored in the game.  But yes, opportunity missed.  Well we werent very good last year. And with Our last two games beating and losing in the last second to two top 25 teams it seems we are improving so this game should have been won i think.

i would hope we have someone a tad better than voss when grothe graduates Why?? We dont know how good he is. With Leavitt he turned Grothe into a great college QB i mean yoyu dont know wat he could do with voss

please tell me why this matters to you?  you do know that these ranking systems are completely subjective and are often the product of one or two people, right? it's not like the AP poll, in which 60+ people vote - which can remove a lot of bias. heck, for scout, the usf board administrator had to contact the scout HQ and convince them to change a couple of rankings by sending videos and making a case... if that doesn't tell you that any ranking of recruiting classes is completely bogus, I don't know what would... so, smazza, please tell us why it is important for USF to appear higer on some magic list of irrelevant measurements... a team like usf that finishes in the 50's will never ever win the big east. there is a correlation to the teams that recruit well and their on field performance only schools that arent in top 25 scream rankings dont matter Louisiville is below us so they cant win either.
