  1. Not sure how the spread offense caused the 3 WVU fumbles. The first was by the FB Schmitt in a conventional set. The other two were by Slaton when he clearly had the ball. It wasn't as if it was on read option exchanges. He was carrying the ball as a RB just like he would if the QB was under center or had three tight ends in the game. I guess I just watched a different game.
  2. OSU and UM have a lot of tradition and this season they are very good teams both capable of winning the MNC. However, to suggest they are unstoppable forces that the game of college football has not yet seen is a bit much. I think we had this last year with ESPN talking heads claiming that 05 USC would destroy all of the greatest teams in college football. OSU and Michigan are good teams but could say Louisville beat them in a one game take all scenario? Certainly.
  3. The big key for Lousiville was their O-Line play last night. WVU played Cover 3 most of the night with the corners and FS 15-20 deep. Their front 3 plus LB/S could not get pressure on Brohm and he picked apart their coverage. If out o-line plays as well as the Ville's did last night we will have a chance.
  4. WHAT??? West Virginia racked up over 500 yards of offense last night. Their offensive system was not the problem. It was turnovers and a defense that could not keep the Cardinals out of the end zone. WVU runs a spread and it works for them. There are many different offenses that work in this game. Just because YOU don't like it doesn't mean it doesn't work.
  5. I hope at some point we will need as many BE OOC wins as possible to help us in the BCS standings.
  6. No kidding...Of course, I want USF to beat L-Ville and WVU. I hope everyone on here does Although, there may some that hope USF loses out to get a coaching change???
  7. The better the Big East does as a WHOLE puts more money in the coffers at USF.  If two Big East teams make BCS games that helps the Big East.  If more teams make it to the NCAA hoops tourney, it helps USF by providing money to the athletic department.  The better the conferences prestige, the bigger television deals the conference can get.  This all helps USF. USC doesn't need to worry about that because you have to be a wealthy pretentious ******* to attend that school.  It does come in handy when needing to buy houses for parents of elite recruits though.
  8. That's just a flat out lie. It's part of the system that we deal with. You think Gator fans didn't want UT to beat Cal earlier this year? I sat with Gator fans rooting for Alabama over Miami in the Sugar Bowl. Maybe out west, they just don't care. If the Big East loses every non-conference game they play, it doesn't help USF at all.
  9. It seems as though with the exception of a few rivals like OU-Texas and FLA-UGA like you mentioned that SEC fans and Big 12 fans would root for a fellow conference member. For example, if the national championship game was Arkansas vs. Ohio State I would think that UF fans would want Arkansas to win for the conference prestige factor.
  10. He would become our most talented WR as soon as he arrives on campus. How he translates that talent to on-field production remains to be seen.
  11. That is GREAT!!! He's a big time playmaker. I hope he makes it to campus. For the other question someone asked...he's a WR from Lakeland and attended Lake Gibson with Matt Grothe.
  12. Well. the BCS is actually a formula based on human polls and computer rankings not a subjective view of a schedule. That said WVU is currently slightly ahead of Auburn and Florida in the current rankings. As of now this is based entirely on the human poll advantage WVU currently has over the two SEC schools. However, as teams lose in between those two teams the gap in the human polls will narrow. WVU's computer ranking should improve over the rest of the season considering the records of the their future opponents. If you were a math guru you could probably crunch a lot of scenarios but without doing that, let's say the final BCS numbers would be very close between a undefeated WVU and 1 loss Auburn or Florida. Louisville would likely miss out despite an attempt to boost their non-conf schedule with K-State and Miami as when the contracts were signed those teams had won 10+ games in four out five seasons.
  13. Has anyone on this board ever been a coach at any level? It is an unbelievable experience seeing things that you thought were great decsions go up in flames and mistakes turn in to game winning plays. I don't think I have ever been any more angry at playcalling than during the UCONN game last year. That series at the goal line still baffles me. Not sure if this is the time to roll heads at USF. Coaching changes don't always end up bringing positive results. Witness the Ole Miss change from David Cutcliffe.
  14. I think Grothe would do well in any type of offense. It's just a matter of preference. There really isn't a system that is better than others. It depends on what type of players you have and how well you execute.
  15. More Impact DL...especially dominant DT's since we play a 4-3 base
  16. He's a huge kid with a real low to the ground running style.  He would be perfect for short yardage and goal line situations.
  17. You have to answers then other than "these guys can't do it" Who will do it? It's not like we will have our pick of any coach in the country. If we were to hire a new coach, who would be on the short list. Do we know these guys would be upgrades?
  18. It's not really what you run but rather how well you run it.
  19. Larry Freeman would be a great addition. He went to HS at Fort Meade and is a tremendous athlete. He played football, basketball and baseball. He would be a different type of WR for the Bulls than most of our current targets as he's a big strong physical reciever.
  20. I'm sure the team is focused on the Bearcats but they still have to execute against a solid team in their house. I'm sure L'Ville fans thought it was a gimme at HOME and it came down to the last play. Now that we are in a BCS conference, there will not be any gimme's on the road.
  21. Not thinking about anything other than Cincy. We aren't yet at the level where we can just chalk up conference W's on the road before the game starts. The Bearcats are the best team we have played on the road this year. Let's get a win tonight before worrying about Pitt.
  22. I am not in that group looking past Cinci. Any road game in our conference is going to be tough. They have some very good players and when you factor in the possibility of a cold rainy night, I will be pleased with any win regardless of the margin.
  23. So far this football season.... 1) Bay Area rep Lakeland High defeats Cinci's best HS team 2) Bucs defeat Bengals Time for the trifecta Sunday Night!!! Go Bulls!!!!
