C'mon, this is the Bullspen. You know that if we win by more than a TD a lot of people will think we are a show in for the college playoffs.  On the other hand, if are not winning by 3 TDs by the middle of the 2nd quarter some will be calling for Scott to be fired.

Just happy to be watching Bull's football.

I've missed the dysfunction and can't wait to watch the chaos on here. Beer/wing run soon cometh.

I will. So much extra free time now in the fall. Gonna be great. And with the financial savings, I think I'll spend it on a small vacation. Just think, I'll be hiking in some beautiful national park, while you'll be frustrated with playcalling and poor tackling while having to emotionally handle losses and more letdown from the program. My time sounds more enjoyable. Oh and I won't have to listen to bs politics along the way 🤘

I'm happy your making a decision that makes you happy. As for me, I don't let the games get to me like that because it's just a game. I'll be enjoying myself just fine because I can tolerate differing politics and don't have to hide in a bubble.

I'm fine with United, but they lost me at BLM. I watch to relax and get away from all the world's bs. Not have to sit through athletes complaining about inequality. The same athletes who get into college based not on merit but being able to run fast and jump. If that isn't bias and privilege I don't know what is. BLM is a racist and violent movement. Its silent on the topic of black on black crime, black abortion rates and black fatherless rates. It's an organization that's quick to blame whitey for it's problems without have any accountability of ones own actions. I will never support that movement and any company, person or organization that supports it. Shame that after 21 years of tickets and attendance, this is how it ends for me.

    Byeeee have a good time

  4. Besides an injury free Bulls victory, of course.

    I'll start

Energy and enthusiasm on both sides of the ball for 4 quarters

An improved and in control Jordan McCloud

An offensive line that looks consistently competent

Somebody, anybody, step up and make plays at DE

An offense that actually plays with good tempo and gets the ball to its playmakers consistently

Specials teams that aren't an "adventure" every time they take  the field

Excellent points, maybe he was just along for the ride and is privileged because he had a daddy in the profession and the team was always loaded playing in a weak P5 conference or maybe he gots the goods.  I know this year will be a struggle but we will learn a lot about this guy and will quickly learn if he is the guy or a fraud.

If he can get the team to play hard for the entire season and finish better than they started I'll be happy.

What chip does he have?? He's had about as privledged of a coaching career to date as anyone.

To prove himself. He was a Co-OC with Tony Elliot at Clemson and had a coach with a big personality in Dabo. This is his chance to prove he was a larger part of their success than some of people think. He seems like a sharp guy and very competitive and is probably aware of people thinking he was just along for the ride at Clemson.

If he didn't watch any film last year then how does he know that he has "gotten bigger and stronger"??

I'd imagine the first player a new offensive minded coach would want to meet is the starting QB. He's probably seen the majority of it with his own eyes, unless you think McCloud put on all his muscle in December and January and was already bulked up when he saw him....

I can't opine on the impact of the new system vs. the old system on McCloud. What I can opine on is his complete lack of interest on the sidelines during each game last year. 3 and out...goes and sits on a fold up chair by himself. No fire or passion or coaching up his teammates. That is the part I can't get behind...give me a guy with a heart of a lion any day of the week. I am a Grothe fanboy all day long...but I'm sure he would admit he wasn't the biggest or fastest on the field every game. His heart and leadership elevated him and the entire team. I watched McCloud sulk on the sidelines almost the entire time he was on the sidelines and I was 15 feet away. He might be the most physically gifted QB we have ever had (spoiler alert: he's not), but he hasn't shown enough heart. This is why I am sad.

People here complained about this during BJ and QFs first years starting too. With experience comes maturity (usually) and leadership. It can be improved just like decision making, mechanics, and arm strength.

    So was Sam Howell

Who was also a 4 star kid recruited nationally with expectations two compete for a job right away. McCloud was always a kid you wanted to develop for 2-3 before putting him out there. He's only played QB a handful of years. Also, Asianti Woulard wws chased off by all everything Josh Rosen. It didn't mean a thing once he got here. It's not about who beats you out it's about who you are as a QB and Johnson and Fortin are currently guys that can't beat McCloud out. CJS even mentioned he was starting to see separation in the QB battle. All 3 will get snaps this weekend so let's see who does the most with them while Citadel has its starters in. It's not some wild theory that a kid (especially a freshman) can make tremendous strides over an off season

  10. Not surprised by this at all. McCloud looked good in spurts last season and His experience and respect in the locker room gives him a leg up on the other guys. People act like he wasn't thrust into action way too early when he came in ideally a kid you develop 2-3 years before you put him on the field. He's only been playing QB a few years too so he was and still is raw. He realistically still has lots of growing into the position and had decent physical tools. I don't think he has a strangle hold on the job by any means but it's his job to lose now. If last season taught us anything about McCloud it's that if he goes down he'll go down fighting.

  11. McCloud is still young and isn't mechanically sound. If he can clean his game up he could make a big jump. He was always a kid you wanted to sit and develop 2-3 years before relying on him due to his limited time playing the position. He was forced to be the guy much earlier than the coaches wanted, behind a very bad OL at that. I think it's too early to count McCloud out of this race.
