Cronk wasn’t drafted because of misinformation put out by USF on his medical history so teams want to see him in person. If he would’ve had a pro day he would’ve been a day 3 pick.

These are words straight from NFL scouts and coaches

I was just curious if he signed a UDFA deal. Wasn't meant as a slight which seems to be how you took it....

I guess the question is do we like him better than Mack or Okpom?. After seeing the video I view this as an upgrade.

Same. I think he has a higher ceiling than either who were both projects too. It's just a matter of what our S&C and coaching can getting out of him. You can't teach his size and athleticism combo so let's see what the coaches can mold that into. It's probably best if he doesn't get a waiver and redshirts imo

Normally teams don’t waste a late pick drafting someone into an overcrowded position, they expect their draft picks to have a good shot of making the roster.

I would agree with for the first 5 rounds but 6th and 7th are often seen as borderline game day roster guys due to to the obvious deficiencies in their game. It's after all why they are picked so late. Teams often "take fliers" on guys later for numerous reasons. Teams love to "add competition" to send a message or straight away plan on drafting guys who they know will probably be practice squad guys.

In the end, having agency over where you get your first shot is an advantage over possibly being drafted into a bad situation.

  4. Player developmental matters and and we had 3 crap years of it. Just look at guys like Atterbury, Wilcox, Norman, Solomon etc all either never developed further or took a nose dive in their performance. You can recruit your ass off but if you can't develop the kids none of that potential matters. There was talent on this roster before CCS took over he just never did anything with it. 3 seasons is a lifetime in football years and CCS did nothing with that lifetime to develop the talent on the roster

Not really jaded. I just love how every off season guys talk about how much stronger we got, how we're working on speed and agility drills as if no other football team is out there doing the same dam thing.  You've got to put in the work but then you need to coach them up and put them in a position to make plays and win.

Some people forget that a personal record is just personal and doesn't necessarily mean you you are where you need to be in relation to your competition.
