  1. Bar crawl is in Annapolis. The team would have a bunch of events in DC that I, obviously, would not participate in. The stuff I'd do in DC would not be related to the bowl game. This is the bowl related stuff in DC from last year. TEAM BOWL WEEK IN WASHINGTON, D.C. Players, coaches and staff from the participating teams enjoy a variety of entertaining and engaging events during their stay in the nation’s capital. Past events have included: Welcome receptions at the team hotels Meet the Coaches VIP Kickoff reception Visit to National Museum of African American History and Culture US Capitol tours Visit to iconic Ben’s Chili Bowl Community visits to the Armed Forces Retirement Home and the VA Hospital Joint team hypnotist event Teams Luncheon Mall & Monument tours Wizards or Caps game at the Verizon Center
  2. You are both more or less correct. UCF's victory was only rewarded with a single bump to 14. Miss St and NC St are ranked with 4 losses. Fresno St is ranked with 3 losses.
  3. Yeah. There are hotels designated for the AAC in both DC and Annapolis, but the team will be staying in DC because many events will take place there. There will be bar/wine crawls in Annapolis the night before the game, and parade and tailgate in Annapolis morning of the game. Outside of that, no official events in Annapolis that I've seen. I don't particularly like that its disjointed like this, but (if we end up in this bowl) I'd be doing stuff in both DC and Annapolis anyway, so I chose to book with the team. http://militarybowl.org/visitor-guide/
  4. Rates at the AAC team hotel are still reasonable considering the big city location. It may go up after the announcement. You can always cancel if we play elsewhere. https://renaissance-hotels.marriott.com/renaissance-washington-dc-downtown-hotel
  5. It does sound crazy, but its either USF or 3 other (8-4) teams.
  6. UCF may get worse than before when the Frost to Nebraska chatter gets hotter.
  7. Projection for all AAC bowl tie-ins... Peach: Memphis vs at-large Military: USF vs ACC Hawaii: Navy vs MWC Birmingham: UCF vs SEC St. Petersburg: Temple vs CUSA Frisco: SMU vs at-large Boca Raton: Houston vs CUSA Cure: Tulane (or not filled by AAC if Tulane loses to SMU)
  8. Memphis will go to Birmingham if they don't win the AAC. Its closer to Memphis, and we went to that bowl last year. <speculates>
  9. Military bowl is paired with an ACC team, maybe UVA this year. Nice town, will make for a great trip. As someone else said Memphis/UCF loser will play against the other bowl tied-in with the P5 (Birmingham), since we played there last year.
  10. For the last 4 years, the AAC has consistently sent its teams with the best overall records to bowl games against P5 or Independent opponents. The only exception would be in 2015 when Temple at (10-3) played Toledo in Boca Raton. But that year Toledo (10-2) was a worthy opponent and actually beat Temple in that game. Navy (6-5) is not a shoe-in just because the Military bowl is held at their home stadium.
  11. I was also at South Bend for the game. One N.D-bag shouted "USF sucks" as our group walked around the stadium to enter the gate, and a handful of others argued with us the entire train ride back to Chicago claiming our win was a fluke. They could not come to terms with what had just happened on the field. It was sweet, indeed. On the flip side, it was amazing to attend a game in that storied field, and the students conducting the campus sale before the game were all gracious. I didn't go to Jordan-Hare, but I've heard their fans were nothing but class as well.
  12. ....i know its Rutgers.... (16) Michigan State at Rutgers
  13. Taking ND's money and the W was sweeter. Dunno which was more money, but their haughtiness is haughtier.
  14. Which will appear in CFP Rankings this week?
  15. ...as a footnote http://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/page/gamedaykickoff101917/elimination-games-start-usc-trojans-notre-dame-fighting-irish
  16. Made their midseason All-American second team; only Bull. http://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/21051960/oklahoma-sooners-qb-baker-mayfield-highlights-ap-midseason-all-america-team
  17. Yep, that's when i knew he was leaving... sounded like Joe Madden talking.
  18. The Hyatt does not appear to be booked; try these links: https://wynfrey.regency.hyatt.com/hyatt/reservations/roomsAndRates.jsp?language=en&xactionid=158d6822dfd&isFromHICBookingValidator=HIC&_requestid=1058814 https://wynfrey.regency.hyatt.com/en/hotel/home.html If it is booked, the Sheraton is also a good option. The team luncheon is there on Wednesday and its within walking distance to Uptown where the pep rally and street fest will be taking place. Price is reasonable. Its a ways off from Dreamland and Five Points(as is the Hyatt), but there will be complimentary shuttles from Uptown (where Sheraton is located) to both of those locations. http://birminghambowl.com/fan-guide.php
  19. In case you didn't see it on the main board, word is that Hyatt is the AAC hotel, Westin is the SEC hotel.
  20. Thanks for passing that along. It looks like Sheraton is a neutral hotel.
  21. Probably. This suggests that the Westin may be the USC team hotel: https://www.primesport.com/tp/south-carolina-gamecocks-football/hotel-only-birmingham-bowl-pkg-4827
  22. Found this on the primesport site which might suggest that the Westin is the USC team hotel: https://www.primesport.com/tp/south-carolina-gamecocks-football/hotel-only-birmingham-bowl-pkg-4827
