  1. Thank you for doing this. I really enjoyed watching it.
  2. Penalties, timeouts, first game jitters, and the never-in-doubt-expected-outcome made for one boring, dull game. We left before the game was over, which is quite uncommon. Were any of you'll bored, too? However; I can't wait for the next game!!!!
  3. Grothe. Followed by M. Blackwell. I still remember how excited I was when MB played his first game. Special honors to JPP for his post USF accomplishments.
  4. Wikipedia link... I have no idea why the URL has a seemingly different name. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WakanohÅ_Toshinori The article mentions USF, too.
  5. Use a projector to shine the logo onto the wall. Adjust it to the size you want and then trace around the projected logo. After tracing, tape outside the line, then paint the logo and then remove the tape. Enjoy.
  6. At least the windowless van has USF Bulls logo magnets all over it
  7. I do a lot of work on my house and have a table saw... I WILL have a glory hole, er, corrn hole built and ready by the first game!!!! I should rule because I played a lot or horseshoe in my undergrad days at Wofford College - (Wofford is also next year's home opener for us)
  8. What the heck are these things? I feel so old all of a sudden. Are they used to practice Beer Pong? How about that game where you try to toss a bean bag into a hole? Should I have one myself????
  9. My first thought when I saw the pictures... isn't that type of thing also called a "glory hole"?
  10. If you are a user of Google Calendar I have made public my calendar of USF basketball games. If you want to add it to your personal Google calendar you can search public calendars for the phrase: USF basketball
  11. Live gate revenue is important, but TV is the big money. A team like FSU - even in a horrible year - will guarantee a LOT of viewers.... So sometimes taking a nearby team is ok as long as they are popular in Teeveeland.
  12. Wow, that's cool. Can guys you don't even know get one? I have it on my dvr but don't think I can figure out how to move it to pc and then to disc. I'm happy to help burn or mail them if you want help with that
  13. I need a 3XL-tall. In for one! I wonder if I"ll get my a** kicked if I wear that to a road game?
  14. They were facing me. I guess I really didn't take the time to look at what was ON the shirts. I'm so busted!
  15. Wow. That picture is totally hot. The girls in it are hot, too! Just kidding. ;D
  16. I liked those snazzy ball caps too. Even the band is not immune to "losing one in the sun" when it comes to sheet music!! I agree. Great job. It took me a while to form my hypothesis, but where those "plain clothsed" cheerleaders recent alums?
  17. I'm not even going to scroll down yet to see if this was posted. Yesterday might have been my best game ever based on total overall enjoyment.  Sure it was not out biggest best game relative to football, but the entire experience was so cool yesterday. Some highlights for me: Going to game at 9:30 a.m. Perfect weather. Incredibly good tent party with entertainment. Friendly Pitt fans (probably because nobody (us included) really had the time and chance to get obscenely liquored up by late morning (although I'm sure some did (see: student, the life of a) Excellent Bulls performance with almost nothing to get upset by (notice I said "almost") Did I mention the weather yet? Early game = more exposure on national highlight shows. Noon games are fun - as long as they are in November! Rich
  18. AGREED. Influencing the CULTURE of a program is so important. (See Hurricanes, Miami) I admire DW for that. Interesting that his sentence is the same as those guys who put on the disturbing pier-six brawl for over five minutes. (that really says more about the minimum sentence that the combatants were gifted with) I found it ironic that he did this in front of his own fans - although now I see in the pic that he was at least smart enough to face the south stands when he did it. Rich
  19. OK, the grammar police have been hard at work......  Does this have something to do with Halloween coming up???? Not that there's anything wrong with that. (I am not gay BTW) Not that there's anything wrong wtih that.
  20. That is wonderful. Congratulations. How old does she need to be before she can get a bull tattoo? ;D
  21. HCSO is better because their dress greens are more suited to a USF game.  Fans might be lead to bullieve that TPD is wearing their blues to support Memphis, UConn or some other visiting team sporting blue. Since we started football I've never seen anybody disciplined for standing too much... I am in one of those polite alumni sections.  I'd rather be with the rowdies though. <begin embellishment>Wait, only once did I get asked to take my seat by a HCSO officer.  I replied to the officer, "Hey, Columbo, I can't take my seat, it's bolted down dumba**"  Just to emphasize my point I called him an expletive and slung my watered down Coke into his face.  Almost instantly I was cuffed and arrested - just for standing up too much.  <end embellishment>
  22. Even with one of our kickers I think that if you kicked it from a tee to the middle of the field that it would stay in bounds. The biggest risk I see is kicking it too far and through the end zone. Note that our guys would be in the vicinity very quickly to grab a bouncing ball. I do agree with you on the time concern. However, if a play like that worked we'd have a field goal opportunity deep in their territory and possibly close to the middle of the field. With that set I'd take this opportunity any day.
  23. Cute. My son is ten now, but he used to proclaim himself "Maquell Blackwell" when we played football.
  24. <bragging section>Maybe some of you heard me discuss this on the post game call in show on 970</bragging section> When we set up for that fateful onside kick to end the game - did anybody else see what I saw?  When I looked at Rutgers' set I was almost shocked at the glaring oversite! We lined up with all of our speed on the left side: Amari, Jenkins, etc. -- amazed at the opportunity I saw I turned to my neighbor and asked, "Do you see what I see?"  "Yes!" he replied. Rutgers had NOBODY back for the kickoff.  Nobody.  There were maybe two guys who were 5 or so yards off the line and those two were over on the "weak" side.  They were wide open for exploitation.  There was a clear opportunity for an amazing play.  Our speedsters on the left would have a running start.  The players across from them would have their backs to their side of the field.  Our guys could have run full speed and surprised the Rutgers guys by running past them and leaving them flat footed.  Our kicker could have kicked a somewhat soft end over end ball right in the middle of the field to the twenty yard line or so (making darn sure not to kick it through the end zone) and the ball would be ours to pounce on deep in their territory.  I don't think a recoverd kickoff can be advanced, but in this scenario we could, almost uncontested, just recover and down the ball way down field andclose enough for a realatively short field goal attempt or even for a quick pass into the end zone after which we could kick if needed. The guys on the radio said that someone in the booth noticed this too and they were all very surprised.  Why didn't our guys up top see this opportunity and get word to the field?  They showed this set both before the time out and then on the actual kick - there was plenty of time to get word to the field and put a plan into action. Anyone else see this?  Any comments?
