  1. Thanks, OME. It is hard for a new program to get this close and blow it. Congrats on your BCS bowl and we look forward to hosting you next week (sunny and 76 degrees). I left a message on WVU's BB congratulating your fans.
  2. The man built this program and brought us this far in NINE YEARS!! You turn on him this quickly? Why, are you some football god who could do so much better?? It would be easier to change your name to kansassportfan and move your butt out there. Get a grip, if you have anything to hold on to!
  3. I agree, UEI. When we were going to the BE, I wondered who was in it. When I found out WVU was in it, I knew that it would be a move up and a prestigious one at that. Having WVU represent the BE is my second choice! Next week should be an exciting game and I also agree with the Mountaineer fan. We should not be overlooked solely based on one game.
  4. OK, no sugar this year. Did we really expect that nine years in? I know a lot of emotion is running high right now, heck, I'm disappointed too. But now we can salvage some media coverage and respect with a win over WVU. I know, I know -- after watching this afternoon you are thinking, "How can we beat WVU if we can't beat the Huskies?" But if we do, it will make the Conn job look like a fluke for them. It is too early to quit. We can still be seen as an up and coming team. It just makes the WVU game crucial. Well, wasn't it anyway?? I am very proud of my team. I am angry at the stupid play calling. I have been giving PJ every bit of slack that I can, but I am at an end with that. But my whole belief in the team has not dissipated with this loss. Beat the Moutaineers and we are back on top again. Tenacity will take us further than talent.
  5. May Our Lady spread her mantle of peace over you and lead you to her Son, as is His Will. Peace be with you, jf
  6. I've heard that some people would pay good money to get spanked that badly ;D
  7. They will! They will be telling our story for years to come. BTW, I LOVE your banner. Kinda says it all, eh?
  8. WB -- You are right, but how can you blame them, really? We have not made a name for ourselves yet and WVU is playing fantasticly (over 400 yards rushing so far). That is why I LOVE the position we are in. Being the underdog is the best position to be in.
  9. That's true With nine minutes left, Pitt could hold WVU scoreless (WVU has the ball) and score over eighteen points themselves. It could happen.
  10. In the 4th, with the score 31-19, it is safe to say the BE bowl picture is getting clearer. Now just two more wins for us. It was great to hear how often USF was mentioned tonight!
  11. It is out of reach for Pitt now. WVU will win this one with the touchdown they just scored. See you in December, WVU! ;D
  12. Both teams are playing excellently in zero degree weather.  Luckily, it will be a lot warmer when we play WVU.  We will have our hands full on Dec. 3.  Of course, that just makes the win more glorious! This is a great game to watch and reminds me why I like college ball much better than the pro's.
  13. I'm with you, '97.  USM was a rivalry built on bad blood and I still harbor it.  If we were ever to bring another all-sport team into the BE, I pray it is USM.  I wonder if it was USM who started the skunk talk > I think trying to pick your rival is like moving to a new school and picking on the first day who you are going to marry.  It has to be a mutual relationship and built on honest emotion.  This is not something you can just proclaim.  It is natural to be rushing into all kinds of things when you have such sudden success, but we need to slow down and let things happen naturally.
  14. You guys have a unique opportunity in Bull's history.  No other team forever at USF will have a first time shot to go this far.  In many ways, if you live up to your potential, every team after will be measured against this team.  And it is EVERY individual out there who counts -- not one more than the other.  It is going to take each one of you playing up to the very best that you know you can.  Check that.  You need to play up to the very best that WE know you can because we probably believe in you more than you believe in yourselves.  When it is late in the third quarter and you are getting tired and beat up, call on the strength and belief of the fans -- fans whose lives stop when the USF Bulls go on the field.  There are bigger named schools out there, but no better.  And no better players.  You have all played ball long enough to know that it is the going when you don't think you can, the giving when you think it is all gone, the hanging on longer than your opponent that wins in the end. Tenacity will take you further than talent.  It is killer when you have both.  Go do what we know you can do.  We are very proud of each and everyone of you. Spring Hill, FL
  15. It shouldn't surprise anyone, Florida is the greatest state in the US for football.  There will be more, but there is only ONE USF!
  16. Gee, thanks, now I KNOW I am old! I have never even heard of those songs. How about Sugar Magnolia by the Grateful Dead?!?
  17. Will do.  I have been trying to influence her by telling her what national standing our accounting program has (she seems to be leaning toward accounting), but I think she is set on going away.  I will talk to her at the party.  She knows what a USF fan I am, so I know she will appreciate the sacrifice of not going to the biggest game in USF history.  God, it is hard to be mature!!!! :-/
  18. I'm another who gets messed up by the time change.  My niece's 18th birthday party is that night, so I will probably be offering three tickets once I confirm the others can't make it either (they are by brothers, so I know the answer).  Bummer, but she is actually sweeter than the Sugar Bowl anyway.
  19. In addition to "Sugar, Sugar" for the band to play, maybe they can play Abba's "Take a Chance on Me" for E.T.
  20. That's cool, MSL. Looking forward to a great game with y'all. It won't break your hearts to come to the sunshine state in December, I'll bet!
  21. Music aside :-/, I made the name as a combination of the ancient Hebrew Abba (one who gives life) and Dad. My favorite roles. I am more of a deadhead myself ;D
  22. <Doh!!!>  @#^*& Microsoft Word spell checker!
  23. Got my message posted on the bottom - http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/sioncampus/11/21/vent.1121/
