  1. The biggest "keep" is Coach Amir. Obviously, players will come and go - and come and go quickly - these days, but we need to keep him as long as we can.
  2. I have two seats if someone can use. Had planned to attend, but the band is gigging on Saturday.
  3. If our three starters continue to pitch like they did last weekend, we'll be right in it.
  4. Anyone heard anthing about Asst. Coach Oliver's son Dante? I believe he did a post-grad year at IMG. He had committed to ETSU out of school, but didn't attend when Dad was let go and came to join Coach Amir's staff. From what I remember, he was a decent prospect with some length and could shoot it.
  5. Maybe, but much of it was done in the dark. I think some of this roster-hopping could be avoided if the player still had to sit out a year before competing. Sure, pay the kids, but the first year you have to pay them just to practice. Might make the player and the program think a little bit harder about the decision.
  6. Nothing that is happening in collegiate sports today is meant to lift all boats and build a better, stronger product that creates more involvement. Every piece of it is designed to consolidate power in a handful of places. To an extent, it has always been that way, but right now, today, and the policies that are being put in place for the future are designed to shut programs out and make the overall product less competitive and less accessible outside of the chosen few.
  7. Just FYI, Coach Amir's nephew is in the portal . . .
  8. Not the same old South Florida? Maybe there’s some spillover from Coach Amir? Let’s GO! And wasn’t SoFlo Rodeo involved this weekend?
  9. Yep, loaded the bases in the bottom of 10 and got the run home on a squeeze bunt by pinch hitter Robertson.
  10. THAT’S the weekend we’ve been waiting for - momentum! Let’s GO! Great job by all three starters!
  11. Hopefully his system will adapt based on the strengths of the roster.
  12. Guess he’s not interested in any coaching.
  13. Wichita is coming in this weekend with a 18-9, 5-1 record (although they have games today and Wednesday vs. Oklahoma and Kansas which might help us thin their pitching). If there was a weekend to show some life and get a spark, this is it. And softball is the same Groundhog Day story. They have 24 wins, but just 4-8 in conference and haven’t won a weekend series yet - 0-4 (3 against the former C-USA newcomers). They rode Corrick for so long and don’t have an identity since. Both of these programs have settled into mediocrity a bit and need a spark.
  14. Understood. I was right there with you, my friend. There hasn’t been anything since to create any enthusiasm. We’re 65-82 (18-36 in league play) since beating South AL to win that Gainesville regional.
  15. Was gonna keep my ESPN+ to watch this team, but . . . nah.
  16. There we go! Montes and Puckett HRs! Where did Puckett come from? He’s been great.
  17. CJ Brown is going to be a stud for us and minimize the loss if Selton doesn’t return. He can shoot it from 3, mid range and can take it to the rim. He’ll just need to get stronger. just recruit guys named Brown.
  18. Charlotte’s starter today came in with an ERA around 8 (28 hits and 19 runs in 22 innings) and we have one single through 3 innings.
  19. Snow has been dealing with a back issue all year - explains his lack of power.
  20. Just turned it on to watch Archie Implode - flew him to Charlotte for an inning and a third. Yikes. Not sure this team is ever going to be able to put it all together this year. They show signs here and there, but there’s no consistency anywhere. Still plenty of innings left today.
