  1. You have to get to the playoffs to even have a shot at losing and be remembered as a loser. Giants aren't even remembered at all most of the time, because nobody cares who finished 20.5 games out of first every year. ;D
  2. Bout time they win a game. What's that, one for 9?
  3. It wasn't Nike... it was some company with a Bell logo.. can't think of the exact name now, because it's not a household name
  4. He still owns a place in the Willadel section of Bellaire in Pinellas, as well.
  5. Back in my first days post-college (back in the Jurassic period) when I worked as an on-site tech support rep, one of my accounts was a business owned by a guy who lived next to Hogan on Tierra Verde. I had quite a few times where I had to go down to his home and work on his communications systems. I belive Macho Man lived right next to Hogan, too.
  6. He missed three straight games, then decided to be a man and, sinus infection be damned, play against the Mets. With his enlarged melon, a sinus infection must be like having the Rio Grande of snot in your sinus cavities...
  7. I agree. Duemig is a jackhole. I love when someone says something that he disagrees with and backs it up with fact (for example, the other day when they said Golf was one of the easier sports to play). He got so offended that he looked for ANY sport to ridicule to try and discredit that report. Rome... well, Rome is Rome. If you enjoy listening to three hours of someone sucking up to the LA Lakers and the LA sports market in general, then he's your guy. I really really enjoy the Tony Bruno show. I wish it were on for more than an hour a day now. Diaz hasn't really turned me off yet, but Beckles is definitely the stronger half of that duo. I'm not a big Ron Diaz fan to begin with, so the fact that I even listen kind of indicates that he's doing an acceptable job thus far. You can SO tell that he's a closet Yankees fan trying to mask his homerism and be biased.
  8. Hey, let's not forget that Baroid walked twice yesterday while watching his team get swept while he sat at home with his sinus infection/hangnail/menstrual cramps/whatever it was. Way to nut up, Baroid. A true sign of the greatest player of all time. :
  9. Is Giambi and his .136 (or whatever it was through April) batting average on the ballot?
  10. Rudy Poeschek... ex-Lightning enforcer from the late 90's. I have a card autographed by him. When I think "personality" I think media, not athlete. Therefore, I'm voting for Ian Beckles.
  11. To beat Pittsburgh... then Tenn. Tech... then someone else.... and then if all goes well to one of those places. One game at a time. Let's let our boys do their work on the field before we make travel plans ;D
  12. It IS a once in a lifetime chance. I'm just stating that the casual fan who has started attending since the amazing run they've had since January is experiencing sticker shock right now. I know I am. That being said, I'm holding out for the Finals so I can go see a game. I HAD tickets for Game 5 of the Canadiens series, but it never got that far. ;D
  13. I can't imagine anyone wanting Baroid's DNA. I mean, he's such a chipper, upbeat guy, right? : Woman at DNA Superstore: "Yes, do you have any DNA from an overpaid whining cheater who does steroids and has a head the size of one of the moons of Jupiter?" Clerk: "Yes, ma'am. That's in the Bonds section, Aisle 5. You have to sign a waiver of liability though, before we can sell you any. "
  14. Baroid has missed 3 straight games, I believe. I guess he's home waiting for his next delivery of HGH, steroids, polar bear stem cells, and the size 32 1/2 hat to fit his bulbous, overinflated bobblehead.
  15. Well, let's be realistic as far as tickets go.... When you TRIPLE the face value from what the regular season costs were... you can't reasonably expect to sell out the arena as soon as tickets go on sale in a Florida city where the average salary lags behind NorthEastern cities that tend to dictate payroll and ticket price. $70 for a terrace corner seat that cost $27.50 during the regular season is nuts. Don't even get me started on the lower seats that were $60 that are now like $200.
  16. Great letter in the Sporting News this week about "Which starting pitcher will the Yankees acquire this summer?" Their answer? Nobody... they have nothing in the minors to trade and the prospective available starting pitchers are the weakest in a long, long time. Looks like the Yankees will have to depend on Contreras and Lieber to get them to the promised land. We'll see how they do when they actually have to play teams with winning records again. ;D
  17. Cheerleading is pretty low on that list... I"m sure NoSFU is upset about that...
  18. Honestly, if you want to talk about best PLAYER ever, it's probably Babe Ruth.  The guy led the majors in virtually every offensive stat in his career, PLUS he led the league in ERA, wins, etc as a pitcher. As fast as Bonds was and as good as a hitter as Teddy was, neither of them can hold a candle to that. And, for the record, I hate Ruth.  But facts are facts. Bonds is a juiced up roid head with corrupt stats. For that reason alone, he can't hold a candle to the top 50 of all time who actually played without "enhancements" and established the record book for mere mortals without planetary-sized craniums.
  19. Plus Orlando is a smelly old toilet... they need to get some visual improvements in there, and USF gear is just the trick! ;D
  20. They will. It'll come out that Bonds, Sheff, and Giambi did roids, probably a bunch others. They're all scumbags in my book, and so is McGwire for that matter, if he's in it as well. You don't play on a level playing field, you taint the integrity of the game. That's just the way it is. You don't deserve respect, much less "records."
