  1. Actually, it's been 86 years. =) And I'll take any win any way I can get it.
  2. I guess we DON'T need Pedro to beat the Yanks, eh Smazz? ;D
  3. How about those Marlins? or Diamondbacks? or Angels? ;D
  4. Ming has pretty much embarassed Shaq this year. Playoffs are another level though. As Chris Berman says... "That's why they play the games!" I like Yao. He never drops the F-bomb on national TV for the kiddies. He's a class guy. Shaq... well, he's Shaq.
  5. Or Wakefield! ;D 6-2, Boston over NY. Yankees have NO relief pitching whatsoever. Knock out the starter and it's a done deal. George will need to buy someone's middle reliever soon if he wants to stay competitive in the AL East.
  6. 6-2, BoSox win. I guess $185 M can only buy 2 runs in Fenway. ;D ;D ;D ;D
  7. Do you think he meant World Series rings? : In that case, the Sox have won as much as the O's, Yankees, Giants, and Cubs in the past 3 years.  By that logic, the Angels and Diamondbacks are better than the all the teams mentioned above.
  8. The testosterone injections turned them to muscle.
  9. Sorry, Smazz. I get confused with you giving so much love to Bonds AND the Yankees in alternating threads. Just wondering where your loyalties actually were! And I don't give a rats ass about credibility, discuss it all you want. Look at my screen name! ;D
  10. Last year there was a minimal increase between regular season ticket prices and playoff ticket prices. This year it's 20% or more in almost every area. The tickets were expensive to begin with! That being said, I've got a pair for Game 5 tonight. GO BOLTS!
  11. Article on RedSox.com today said that Francona was looking for a way to insert Wakes betwen Petey and Curt, and the rainout allowed him to do that without affecting Pedro's scheduled start. I don't think Pedro is getting an extra day's rest. He's pitching on Thursday like he was scheduled to. Lowe was scheduled to pitch Tuesday, Wakefield was scheduled for today, and Petey for Thursday. Now Lowe is to pitch tonight (rain-out again) and Petey stays on Thursday, but Wakes picks up Friday now. Curt is getting the extra day.
  12. For the record, McGwire, Sosa, Giambi, et al are all suspect in my book as well. I'm not a Bonds hater, I'm a cheater hater. Gimme a skinny Ted Williams jacking them over the bullpen in Fenway without the assistance of Roids any day of the week over a roided up fathead freak like Bonds, McGwire, or Sosa. Smazz, people want home runs, but they want the game to be played on the level. The great thing about baseball is the 100+ years of history, and if you're distorting that history by juicing up, what's the point of even following the game anymore, since the competitive standard (and the record book) has been tainted forever?
  13. It's simple. It's called a 5 man rotation. Pedro is slated to pitch on his normal day on Thursday against Baltimore. Friday: Wakefield Saturday: Schilling Sunday: Arroyo (#5 starter) Monday: Lowe He's not "sitting it out" he's just not scheduled to pitch. Geez, Smazz, anything to try and dog the Red Sox and Petey. Are you really a Giant fan, or are you a bandwagon Yankee fan/Sox hater?
  14. Bonds is a juiced up roid-head and his "records" are the reason the asterisk exists.
  15. By the way, when is Bonds going to wake up and try hitting a ball this year? ;D
  16. Considering they are above .500 and the Yankees are at .500, what kind of start have the Yankees had? Frozen? Sloth-like? Bosox and D-Rays both above the Stankees in the standings, baby. Never too early to gloat.
  17. Smazza: With all due respect, of course... Your hatred of Boston and the Red Sox is comical. You pump up the Yankees all the time, but you yourself claim you were a Mets fan in 69 and probably again in 86. In my book, this makes you a bandwagon Yankees fan, like 90% of the Yankees "fans" that now wear their hats and jerseys proudly. This calls into question YOUR credibility. ;D I don't care if the Red Sox go 0-162 next year. I'll be a diehard Sox fan till I die. True fans don't switch allegiance because another team in town is winning. Also, Luchino and Henry rule, and Steinbrenner sucks. ;D GO SOX!
  18. When did Jason Giambi convert to Nation of Islam? :
  19. Mike Mussina's stats in 2 starts against the Devil Rays this year: 0 W, 2 L, 19 Hits given up, 11 Runs allowed, 2 HR allowed, 4 BB, 3 K, .422 opponents batting average, 11.00 ERA. THIS is the Yankees #1 starter? :
  20. Yeah they are, but they were strong enough to beat Mike Mussina.... twice. ;D What will the poor wittle Yanks do when they have to go to Boston to get their beat down? ;D
  21. Yeah, and Roseanne Barr passed up the Buffet at Shoney's last night, too.  ;D "This wasn't about fame, it was about money. If OJ drove a bus, he'd be Orenthal the Bus Driving Murderer!" - Chris Rock
  22. After the Devil Rays ***** slapped them on Tuesday, I bet they were happy to play a weak team finally ;D
  23. Nice to see those mighty Orioles step up and get the beating that was coming to them. I didn't see them dominate Schilling. Or Derek Lowe ;D ;D ;D ;D Orioles suck, no offense. Angelos is a horrible owner.
