  1. We HAVE improved. Might not seem like it because it has not translated into more victories. What we sorely need is consistency. Its one thing when you have been beaten by a better opponent (based on strategy, talent, and coaching)...its another when you cant seem to play good football for 60 minutes while beating yourself up with some really silly penalties and turnovers.
  2. We are far far away from being a consistent decent team for both sides of the ball. Glaring issues have consistently plagued this team all season: 1. Poor tackling, lacking any technique whatsoever. Too much just grab and hold on. 2. Overly soft coverage (although i think theres a reason for that: not enough experience in the corners. 3. 1st line of defense unable to shed blocks. 4. Inconsistent pass protection. 5. Young qb. 6. And most disappointing: lacking intensity from START to FINISH. On a positive note...we are better than last year.
  3. It just seems like there's no benefits to them...at least from a fan's perspective.
  4. For our presnap shifting? Is it even worth it? I mean, i cant tell if our successful plays are the result of the presnap shifts. It seems more deteimental seeing how some of the guys look confused which results in an illegal shift penalty. Why not just line up where you are suppose to be?
  5. You know what? Why dont we come out and just start throwing it al over the place? I mean every single team we have played knew we wanted to establish the run...i say all pass plays first two posessions...at the minimum! This will help establish the run.
  6. I almost choked on my dunkin donuts munchkin LOL! I've literally felt like I've been run over by a bus after the past 4 years of watching us play...but i do feel we are getting better. Just hoping for wins to start rolling in so i can stop screaming at my flat screen. So...I'm still on the bus sitting behind you and welch.
  7. It doesn't matter...until we become semi-relevant again, we will have to climb many obstacles to win a game like this. It was the same scenario when CJL was trying to build this program. Every top notched program we played, we had to play three times harder and want it three times more to pull a win. This is probably my least favorite thing about CFB. There is definitely favoritism towards long-standing-successful programs. It's good to be on the good end of the stick, but really tough to be on the other end.
  8. There's no doubt we had to play a near perfect game to beat a team like wisconsin...but we also needed a near perfect officiating to even have any kind of a chance. And officiating was not even close to being satisfactory. Those controversial calls and non calls are drive killers and destroy any kind of momentum that we might have going our way. We definitely shot ourselves in the foot many times, but it seems like in our very short football history that in order for us to win against a more superior opponent we always have to overcome more obstacles.
  9. Another interior lineman holding...shame.
  10. Definitely not calling a fair game. Block in the back and a couple of jersey grabbing going badgers way. Shame...its almost like these games are fixed.
  11. IMO...it starts with our o-line. We've never had a dominant o-line. Since the inception of this program, I can't remember of a single time when we all thought our o-line was a strength to the team. I believe that's why Leavitt and company ran the type of offense they ran. Many here complained about how bush-league it was when we were primarily dependent on the QB scrambling and making plays with his feet. Many back then wanted a more pro-style/power running game offense. We have one now and it is not working (as of yet.) Coach Leavitt knew he couldn't compete with the other schools in the state for what little top offensive linemen we have here in the state. He just needed a mobile QB, a few play-makers, and guys with a lot of heart and a big chip on their shoulders. That was his formula for success and for building up the program in hopes he could lure better players. CWT wants to run his system and he will need top a o-line to do so. It's definitely going to take time. Big, smart, and aggressive offensive linemen are hard to come by...especially in this state.
  12. whats the best way to eliminate the popups on this site? Which "x" do I click on?
  13. I'm not sure why so many here take the same bait year in year out. It's like many of you are the little fish by the pier that keeps taking my shrimp.
  14. No...better yet: place the entire coaching staff in a steel cage located in the middle of campus with this guy. And must dress like him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rwAwuhvhLPU Public humiliation works.
  15. If you are either a fios or brighthouse customer, you can download the espn app on your droid and/or apple phone or tablet. Log in with your username and password that you use to log into your "my services" account. And then all you need is wifi. I will be watching from a campground. Good luck! Go Bulls!
  16. I appreciate your take...but you haven't seen any results because a change has JUST BEEN MADE. There is no track record, because the change just started. Logic tells us that we won't know the outcoume until it happens. So, lets wait and actually see the results...good or bad. Hopefully, good. I am trying to not have the "drive-thru" thinking, like many here are having. We can't always have instant gratification. As much as we like to have in our lovely society.
  17. I don't think anybody is trashing UofL. But it's rather unusual for a top university to not do a thorough check on an employee of that caliber...or any employee for that matter. I mean, it was just 2005, not too long ago; therefore a thorough background check must have been a requirement. Every university has dirt. Shoot, we had terrorists teaching in the (I believe) engineering school when I was going to USF. With that being said, UofL either: Didn't follow protocol and performed the necessary due diligence on him Turned a blind eye Perhaps both Plain and simple.
  18. And it was the most crucial stage of the game to not block out. Like I said, "What a way to end your college career." If he had given full effort there at that juncture and still loses the rebound, then he could of at least said to himself that he did everything he could...but he left the floor knowing full well he slacked or lost focus...perhaps both.
  19. Yep. I was kind of wondering what Rudd was doing there in the first place. Unless Egbunu was on the other side. I believe there was a rather small group in there at that point. I think it was Heath (not 100% sure it was Heath, but he was out there the play before), Allen, Rudd and Brock. i don't know who the other center/Forward was. Still, no excuse for a fifth year senior. The team's leader, no less, to fall asleep at perhaps the most crucial moment of the season. I was watching the game with my friend who is a Louisville grad. In the last 4 or 5 minutes of the game he kept saying that it looked like the entire team was lazy, out of shape and was playing with no passion at all. When they were in that last huddle he said that they looked like their was no energy or excitement on the bench. He said that by looking at their faces, especially Rudd (who they zoomed in on) you couldn't tell if this was a pre-season game or a conference tournament game. He said that if you watch Pitino's team, they are focused, but you can see they are excited about being there. Can't say I disagree with what he was saying. Rudd did not put a body on (I belive) Moore, which led to Moore out hustling Rudd for the ball. Plain and simple. Rudd knew it, Stan knew it, and commentators knew it. Doesn't matter who's man that was...once the ball goes up, it should be instinctive to put your behind on the nearest opposing defender. Basic fundamental of basketball.
  20. Remember, he missed two crucial free throws down the stretch which would have put us up by one and definitely swing the momentum our way. I thought that dictated the outcome of the game. Instead, after the misses Rutgers pulled away to a 5 point lead. Yes, anybody could of missed those, but he has been there before and seen it before. A team leader makes those and wills his team to a win. During our tourney run, he didn't have to be a leader as there were others filling in those roles, but last year and especially this year he's had no choice but to be that guy. And IMHO, he failed in that category. I apologize for picking on a single Bull (he is a Bull through and through no doubt), but there is so much more in Victor Rudd and he doesn't even realize it. He's had four years to figure it out, but he's never really matured. His upside are his physical tools, and his downside is definitely his maturity/mental toughness.
  21. I think Rudd plays in the NBA so he'll be ok going forward. Good Luck to him I have to disagree with you on this. I highly doubt he gets selected. I hope I am wrong for his sake. I am no GM or scout, but just watching him play the past four years would turn me away. There's no doubt he has the physical tools, but... Here's why: As shown in the last few seconds of the game, he lacks full concentration. Zero floor leadership skills. Poor attitude during games, especially towards his own teammates. Inconsistent energy. Which Victor Rudd is going to show up? The one that takes plays off, or the one that (can) dominate(s) the game? Poor outside shot selections. Great shooter at mid-range, so why take threes?? I say he signs as a FA (maybe) in the NBA. If not , he'll definitely play overseas.
  22. You know, I value the fact that Victor Rudd has played for us the past four years...but it is such a shame that last "lack of focus" pretty much summed up his career here. What a painful way to end your college career.
