The biggest problem with USF defense under both CCS and CJL has been insufficient depth. That's why I am so excited about this current signing class, assuming we get the remaining verbals in Feb.

Our former DC Wally Burnham received a lot of credit for our defense under Leavitt. Both CCS and CJL were very successful DC's prior to becoming HC's and both knew what they wanted in a DC and hired competent people to do that job. So, there is much credit to go around.

So, the early signing period turned out to be very good for USF. A total of 19 players signed early. So, now we only need to concentrate on baby sitting the remaining 9 verbals and see who else might be available, just in case we have some decommits. That's much easier than having to worry about 28 verbals.

USF ran out of gas in the 2nd half, after playing last night. I thought that might happen. Michigan State didn't play yesterday and they had fresher legs and a much larger bench. Final: MSU 83 - USF 73.
