USF Inks Prep Standout Dante Curry TAMPA, Fla. – The University of South Florida men’s basketball program has announced the signing of prep standout Princeton “Dante†Curry to a National Letter of Intent, head coach Robert McCullum announced Wednesday evening on the opening day of the signing period. Curry, a 6-4, 175-pound guard, will join the team next fall and have four years of eligibility. “We are extremely happy to add Dante to our program,†McCullum said. “He is a player we targeted two years ago and have had the opportunity to evaluate and observe him in numerous situations.†Curry is entering his senior campaign at Kissimmee Poinciana High School. A first team all-county selection by the Orlando Sentinel as a junior, he averaged 19.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game last season. A varsity starter since his freshman campaign, Curry has garnered all-conference accolades each of the previous two seasons. “Dante is an explosive and skilled player who can play both guard positions,†McCullum added. “His ability will give him a great opportunity to come in right away and make his presence felt. “Dante has never wavered since making his verbal commitment and we are happy to know this was his first choice and where he wants to be.â€Â
