  1. This is a pointless thread. While I'm as upset with BJ as anyone, we all know and if you don't your a moron that BJ is better than what we have behind him right now. Play BJ out the rest of the year, than from Day 1 Start Asianti Woulard next year! Please God let him stay committed!
  2. Heres my thing with BJ while taking nothing away from his 4th qtr performance this past week. He continues to miss too many open wrs. There were it least upwards of 10 throws either over or under thrown to open players. Also a few of the deep routes if he leads them we would've been ahead earlier in the game. Believe 1 or 2 to Dunkley, and 1 to Trex where they had to comeback or slow down their routes just to come close to ball. He needs to shore up his throws more under 15 yards as well. His stat lines to me are misleading because he has hit on some great deep passes but other drives have stalled due to his accuracy inconsistency. But if it continues like this and we still get W's then fine by me. But in order to beat the better teams in my opinion he needs to shore up his other throws. And keep throwing to #81 Davis my favorite player he is straight BeastMode! Also Lamar needed to play and it shows Murray and him are a great compliment to each other and I think will help as the season progresses. Tough loss once again losing Griffin cant seem to catch a break, but I think thats one position we can kinda afford it because of our depth. Like our mix with Davis, Mitchell, Dunkley and other guys sprinkled in at WR. Lets beat Rutgers and get the Conference started right finally! Go Bulls!
  3. It wasn't actual players can we put this to bed. They had a game ended at 5:30pm and they aren't coming back to tampa to scout or talk smack. You know you can buy similar gear to what the teams wear. I just hope we get them again and beat them.

  12. No kidding: Kansas wants infants to buy ticketAssociated Press LAWRENCE, Kan. -- When Kansas football fans Owen and Lisa Foust headed to the Jayhawks' season opener last Saturday, they bundled up 3-month-old daughter Kate to go along. But when they presented their tickets at the gate, they were told they would need an additional $35 ticket for Kate. "I just thought it was pretty tacky," Owen Foust said. "It's just a grab for money." Kansas actually began enforcing the babies-pay policy three or four years ago, said Kansas associate athletic director Jim Marchiony. "Everybody needs a ticket regardless of age," Marchiony said. "The very small children come with backpacks and bottles and toys. ... We've received numerous complaints over the years from people who are sitting next to those people -- enough for us to know that even those sized children need the space." And, Marchiony said, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has recommended that organizations require tickets for everyone at large events as a way to keep track of numbers. The Fousts, both University of Kansas graduates, said they didn't mind paying something for Kate to get into the game, but they didn't think it should be a full-priced ticket. "This is supposed to be a family-friendly environment," Owen Foust said. "I don't think that policy promotes that [environment] much." Kate -- and any child under 3 -- would be able to get in free for a Kansas City Chiefs game. "It's a question of the actual seat," said Chiefs spokesman Bob Moore. "If there's no one sitting in the seat, then there's no reason to sell the seat." Moore said he believed most professional football teams have the same policy. Fans under 2 also can get in free to see the Missouri Tigers or Kansas State Wildcats play, and those under 1 don't pay for tickets at Iowa State. "We just felt like a 1-year-old doesn't take up that much room," said Matt Johnson, director of ticket operations at Iowa State. "We get calls all the time saying: 'Thanks for not making our 2-month-old pay."' But Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas all charge for babies who are brought to games. "Our stadium is sold out on a season-ticket basis with a long waiting list," said Keith Mann, spokesman at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. "Everyone has to have a ticket." Making exceptions for babies "leads to too much decision-making at the gate," said Kenny Mossman, athletic department spokesman at Oklahoma. Texas women's athletic director Christine Plonsky argues that safety is an issue. "The ruler here of stadium and game management is our fire marshal," she said. The Fousts say the policy won't dampen their Kansas spirit. "Kate will probably go to some games," Owen Foust said. "And we certainly want Kate to be a KU graduate someday." http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2577728
  13. Bulls Blog: Junior Midfielder Rodrigo Hidalgo Courtesy: USF Release: 08/25/2006 Courtesy: USF (Aug. 25, 2006) – The season is right around the corner and our team is ready for the challenge. The team is absolutely dedicated this year on making sure we focus every day like there is no tomorrow. Preseason has rewarded our “family†with the right preparation and concentration needed for the season opener at Florida International University. The nation has big expectations on our team this year, however preseason honors mean absolutely nothing. It is the post-season appearances that we work for. Of course winning the BIG EAST title and making a Final Four appearance in this year’s College Cup is something every individual on our squad dreams of. But, we all share one thing, the knowledge that to achieve these dreams, we need produce a large amount of dedication and passion on a daily basis. Having said that, our main focus is taking the first step and getting the results at FIU. Today we all must experience “the hatred of travelingâ€Â, especially on a bus, and did I mention four and a half hours? It is hard to find something to do on the bus. Most of the guys kill time playing cards. Dane Brenner, Blake Sharpe and Kevon Neaves are usually the ones involved. If the rest are not sleeping then they are making fun of each other and having a good time. Oh, and of course there are the sleepers. But, to be honest that mainly consists of one person, my man Kris Raad a.k.a. Raady Raad. As for myself, I usually spend the time talking on the phone or sending text messages. I know most people think it is a girly thing to do, but it is actually something I get a lot of joy out of. Traveling is somewhat exciting, I guess. If you take away the hours spent getting to out destination. Truthfully, the best part of traveling is the moment we get back home. So I was asked to write about what is going through my head and give a little bit on what’s going on my life right now, therefore I hope you are ready to experience the thoughts in my head. To start off I would like to clarify that my knee is feeling extremely well, and I am very content with the job our trainer Brian Simerville and Dr. David Leffers did with me. I owe them both a huge thanks for helping me back on my feet in such good time. Also, all my teammates, coaching staff, friends and family members deserve a blessing from God for the psychological and emotional support they have offered me every day since I tore my ACL. I am back on my feet and ready to be a part of the success of our team. As for all the preseason awards that have been handed to me, WOW! Honestly, I did not expect anything this year and to have been awarded with so many honors makes me one happy and overwhelmed soccer player. However, at the same time, I feel cheated, not for myself, but for all the amazing players on this team. There is only one trophy I truly wish for and that is the NCAA Championship Trophy. Well, that is about it for today. Our team will continue to work hard to bring smiles to the faces of our dedicated fans and to represent of our wonderful university. Make sure to come out to the USF Soccer Stadium and enjoy the games. They are very exciting. Until next time .... Much love, respect and happiness.

  16. From Flsportsfan: thats a kid you say yes we are interested to. He has more talent than anybody that has ever played here. Maybe Mac said no because he knows he wont be here next year. STUPID STUPID MOVE. The dumbest thing Mac has done since he has been here. Only a few more moths of this joke we call a basketball program. Wow you are pretty terrible with how you feel. I give you that this kid was a solid player. But more talent than anyone we ever had no way! If you want me to go into names I will but no way more talent that anyone we ever had. He wasn't going to come here if he was even thinking about NBA and it would have to been to long of process to go thru! Enough said! Guys back off a little lets talk football, and wait to see what happens when BBall season rolls around. Its just getting beyond ridiculous and I don't swing by the board as much because of it! Go BULLS!
  17. TAMPA - Want to know who will be the University of South Florida's starting quarterback in the season opener against McNeese State? Then just listen up. "The starter," USF coach Jim Leavitt said, "will probably be the person I holler at the least." With USF's season opener 24 days away, not even Leavitt knows who will be his starting quarterback between senior Pat Julmiste or redshirt freshman Matt Grothe. Both players say they know. "I know I'm the starter; that's what I feel, that's what I'm going by," Julmiste said. "You're going to see a different Pat Julmiste this season." Countered Grothe: "I know I can win the job. I know I can work hard enough to get it." Despite the competition, they said they remain friends. "You wouldn't know we were competing for the same position," Grothe said. The only clear-cut advantage is Julmiste's experience. Julmiste has won 12 of 23 starts the past two years. "Pat has been in a lot of football games - good and bad - and he's won a lot of big games for us," USF offensive coordinator Rod Smith said. "At times Pat gets a whole lot more blame and credit than he deserves, but he has to be better than what he was last year for us to have a chance to win." What is Smith looking for from his starter? "He will be the most consistent person on the field," Smith said. "That's what we've been preaching from this position the past two years and we haven't had that as much as we want. That's not a shot at any of our quarterbacks, they all know that. "We have to have someone that's consistent and isn't going to turn the ball over, just run the show. We don't need a superstar, but he has to be a leader." In the past two years, the Bulls are 9-4 when Julmiste attempts 21 or fewer passes, but 1-9 when he attempts 22 or more passes. Sophomore defensive end Josh Julmiste said his brother isn't affected by the criticism. "He's handled it good as far as the controversy at quarterback, from starting to not starting, bad games, whatever," Josh Julmiste said. "He took it on the chin, took criticism and got better. I can't recall a time I've seen him down about it." Pat Julmiste said he's even more motivated in his final season after the birth of his son, Jeremiah Patrick, on July 5. Former USF quarterback Marquel Blackwell got a look at Julmiste this summer when they worked out together. "It's a matter of Pat calming down and executing," Blackwell said. "[Former USC quarterback] Carson Palmer had three bad years and then a dynamite senior year. One thing about Pat, he's going to do whatever he can do to get better. I'll be his biggest fan." While Smith touted Julmiste's experience and leadership, he said Grothe has a good presence. "He was a winner in high school [at Lake Gibson], but he's yet to prove it on the college field," Smith said. "There are certain things he does that excite you about the kid. He's a freshman, he's going to make mistakes. "We have to be patient, but at the same time we can't be patient. It's a catch-22. But we're putting the pressure on him now, getting him ready to play as soon as possible." Grothe was redshirted last season and came to USF as the "other" quarterback along with highly touted Carlton Hill. Last season Hill played sparingly, while Grothe watched. "I don't think I was ready at all last season," he said. A year later, Grothe said he's ready and is the one in position to start, while Hill has transferred to a junior college. "That doesn't bother me if people don't think about me," Grothe said. "I'll get my day to shine and they can see what I can do." http://www.tbo.com/sports/bulls/MGBHG016NQE.html
