  1. I understand the work and the driving aspect, I have a similar problem with coming to stuff in Tampa. What I am trying to get a feel for is actually how many USF folks (if any :-/) were planning on coming to the game? A show of hands from folks here?
  2. So does this make anyone interested in a tailgate for May 4th? See previous- http://www.thebullspen.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=news;action=display;num=1082117278
  3. So there is three potential folks total for this? I know more folks are coming than three.
  4. Well, I was just guessing Defdans might want to get in at the lower donation level, $250, then could work the donation up as time and money permits. I looked to move up to the $1000 level this year, but had two friends add adjacent seats so decided to stay put and put monies elsewhere into the program.
  5. You can contact USF Athletics, John Lewis is an Account Executive at 813-974-7492 or you can send him an e-mail at johnl@admin.usf.edu. I can tell you that a $250 donation will let you buy four seats in a section like mine, 238. For more information on season tickets, group sales, or individual game tickets, please call 1-800-GoBulls. 6. Today is the second one, hope to see some folks there. You do not need to be active alumni to attend. Monday April 19, 2004 7:00 PM USF Alumni Association 'Meet and Greet' Happy Hour Beef'O'Brady's 2160 Howland Blvd., #104 Deltona, FL 32738 386-789-9464
  7. I work with Ted Rivera at the USF Alumni Association. He will be in Orlando for the May 6th meeting over here. I am not sure if he is coming over to Melbourne on the 29th or not. I will talk to him about it next week.
  8. I have been speaking with bullo12 about it via e-mail. I will definitely do everything I can to help you guys. Hope to see you on the 29th...
  9. thought of more, again depending on how you want to go with the movie Dolph Lundgren from the Punisher, http://www.badmovies.org/movies/punisher/punisher6.wav Sting as Feyd-Rautha from Dune or you could go contemporary Sting for the ladies. Bruce Willis as a John McClane in DIE HARD 5, Die Hard 4 is already in production so... Damian Lewis using the Major Winters character from Band of Brothers Now if we can just work Ron Livingston in there as another character... or Dale Dye on Band Of Brothers, as Colonel Robert Sink as an older southern spoken CJL.
  10. So what your saying is you'd rather stay at work... -Instead of going to watch the Bulls, who just beat UCF on Tuesday, 4/13... -Instead of ... err ...aaah, Weekly/ESPN Top 25 Coaches' Poll, April 12, 2004 --- Dropped out: No. 23 Central Florida... ooops never mind... ..on a Tuesday afternoon ... -Instead of catching a baseball game here in Orlando, right? Just kidding
  11. Many options depending on what your wanting to do with the role: Rutger Hauer from Blade Runner when he says "Ah, if only you could see what I have seen with your eyes." Carl Elwes from the Princess Bride, all other football coaches (and fans) keep saying "Inconceivable" ie http://frogstar.com/wav/displaywav.asp?fil=pb-incon.wav A younger Clint Eastwood would work. R. Lee Ermey from FMJ YOU WILL NOT LAUGH / YOU WILL NOT CRY / YOU WILL LEARN BY THE NUMBERS / I WILL TEACH YOU ... SHOW ME YOUR WAR FACE!!!!! Bruce Campbell (must dye hair ofcourse) from Army of Darkness Ash: "Alright who wants some?" http://www.moviewavs.com/cgi-bin/moviewavs.cgi?Army_Of_Darkness=dark4.wav For the older school, Steve McQueen from Bullitt
  12. If you guys want your own chapter, call the USF Alumni Association @ 800-299-BULL. The whole reason you are covered by the 'Greater Orlando' umbrella is because I haven't seen much USF related here for the 3 years I've lived up here. I got tired of waiting for something to happen and did something about it. If you want to get a chapter going, that is great! I will be glad to help however I can from here. I hope to see you guys @ Beefs' in Melbourne on April 29th. You can get the alumni listing for the event here: http://www.usf.onlinecommunity.com/cgi-any/calendar_show.dll/display?sitename=USF&id=380 Or send me an e-mail @ kkrause@worldnet.att.net and I will give you a call. Many Thanks, kdawgy
  13. Today is the first one, hope to see some folks there. You do not need to be active alumni to attend. Wednesday April 14, 2004 7:00 PM USF Alumni Association 'Meet and Greet' Happy Hour Beef'O'Brady's 13750 West Colonial Drive, Suite 130 Winter Garden, FL 34787 407-654-5730
  14. TCU was it for me. The game should have been a win. So Miss was our first watch party in Orlando - good turnout, bad ending (bad start of game also). Others didn't effect us so much. Bama, that is just inexperience (and cramping).
  15. We have to bowl this year. It doesn't need to be the king of the CUSA heap (would be nice) but a bowl.
  16. Enough of this, he visited. Can we move on now? No disrespect, if he is seen again at another practice - then the what-ifs can begin.
  17. A holiday, let's see last time we did that was Halloween. Yes, the diehard types (yes, drove in from Orlando) were there; however, the families were not. Call me suspicious but I don't think it will be that well attended unless there is some serious hype built. I am dreaming of the day the upper deck is open; however, I am not sure Pitt will do that for us. I am suppose to be on a cruise, now I gotta make sure that it would get back into Port Canaviral early enough, or change plans and cruise out of Tampa. My luck, the boat would get stuck in Tampa Bay on the way back in and I would have to listen on the radio. If they do plan to change it, they need to let people know now, early May at the latest. Families plan trips months in advance.
  18. MikeG- Yep that was me. One cup of coffee is not enough for the drive from Orlando in the AM. I will make it a point to introduce myself to you all next time. I had invited folks from Orlando yesterday and had to hussle to meet em, they bought seats. Our little Orlando group is now 10 seats strong. I am sure others make the drive from O town but I haven't met them yet.
  19. No clear QB yet IMHO, the D was able to see Banks targets pretty well and react accordingly. He did run a couple times. There is definitely some new fresh talent elsewhere in the offense. I watched the other QBs as well, no one came away cleanly; however, the tag the QB thing was smart as we do not need any injuries. Someone will need to keep eyes on the practices as we head for the fall and see how things look.
  20. This was the first Spring Game I made it to, attendance was less than I expected. My best guess would be between 1k-2k. It was warmer then I expected, a real cooker. I had just paypal'd 25.00 to Bull Backers last night, hope to meet all those folks in the fall. The good side of today was that the guests I brought over from Orlando had a great time and they were able to lock in seats today. I didn't expect them to throw down on tickets but, they were sold on bulls football as soon as they got into the stadium. Game play would be consistent with scrimmage type of stuff. No clear QB candidate yet IMHO. I met with some of the players outside afterwards by the buses and everybody looked wiped. All the players had six packs of sodas and even Coach Leavitt had three pepsis with him. The new OT and DLs are getting bigger - a good thing. Managed to get Brant, Fisher, McBee and DE Coach Rachel to sign the USF flag I brought. Got our La Teresita fix before getting back on the I-4 traffic jam, it has to hold us Orlando folks til September.
  21. I am not even convinced this will be the final schedule, seems to me we have had re-schedules almost every year where we drop/ add or move these games. Flights are tough, I was usually coming across country back from business late friday night or saturday morning from 1997 -2001 back to Fort Myers. Then hauling the 2.5 hrs to get to Tampa for a game then 2.5 hrs back to Fort Myers. Coming back into FL was almost always Delta via Atlanta or American via Miami or (heaven forbid) Continental through Texas which meant rain or delays. I would broaden the flight params to look to Miami or Orlando if you want to keep the fares cheap. Also, the smaller airlines are in play now, where they weren't when I was a puddle jumping fool. Typical big airline LAX-TAMPA 219.00 Southwest 85.00 each way Miami, Fort Lauderdale or Orlando might be a pain but times might be better. JetBlue, Frontier also provide options. Just my 2 cents.
  22. This topic has been moved to [link=http://www.thebullspen.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=2;action=display;num=1081520259;start=0]State of Florida College Sports[/link] by Velcrogrip.
  23. Only through taking the messages to all of the campuses or campi or whatever are we going to raise the money needed for this effort. If you look at the branches that UCF, http://www.regionalcampuses.ucf.edu/ has, or all the 22 extensions UF has,http://www.ifas.ufl.edu/research/recmap.htm suddenly, USF seems pretty small with 5 locations. USF is a regional school not just a Tampa school. Yes, Fort Myers spun off into FGCU but that is just a sign of the times. The road show is a good thing IMHO.
  24. The official USF Alumni Association e-mail went out today. Hope to see some folks there.
  25. Someone needs to find out where the paint job or stickers or whatever is on the truck came from. I wouldn't necessarily get a logo that big, but something a little smaller would be doable.
