  1. I am just glad to see some info, not like we could do anything more then check the scoreboxes on ESPN. Now, time to batten down the hatches for Jeanne. Everyone stay safe.

  3. I will pass your comments along and see if I get a response back from the association. Again, they were unresponsive to me until some personnel changes were made. There are always other options. . . Bull Backers, USF Bulls Club, etc. . . . I am not twisting arms here, I am just seeing if folks are interested.
  4. Real interest in doing stuff comes from Alumni, not the association. That is why two friends and I made the trip out to Melbourne in April. http://www.thebullspen.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=news;action=display;num=1080831050 That is why there will be a Bulls Club Luncheon in Orlando on June 15th. http://www.thebullspen.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=news;action=display;num=1085582216 That is why there was a tailgate at the last USF v UCF baseball game. http://www.thebullspen.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=news;action=display;num=1083160893 That is why the first watch party for Orlando was hosted in Winter Garden last year. http://www.thebullspen.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=news;action=display;num=1065740711 Alumni interest is what makes it happen. . . http://www.thebullspen.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=news;action=display;num=1065740711 Think what you want about the association, we have e-mailed back and forth about it. Posts to the message board are easy, getting out and doing the work is the hard part. And no, it is not all fun. But walking into my Beefs and seeing a USF pendant, a football jersey and a football helmet - that is worth something.
  5. I know dabull80 and bullo12 have stated interest in Brevard ... is there anyone else on the board from the Brevard or Volusia areas that would be interested in forming an Alumni chapter? Why do I ask? Well, being the squeaky wheel here in Orlando has gotten me invited to the Board of Directors Annual Meeting of Members here in Orlando, June 12th. Per the alumni website... USF Alumni Association members are invited to attend the Board of Directors Annual Meeting of Members. At the meeting, Board Elections will be held and initiatives for 2005 will be discussed. I think the 'jump start' of a Brevard and a Volusia chapter might be a doable thing. I am willing to help out whomever takes the lead on getting this going. Please let me know. -kdawgy
  6. The Spelling Bee was on at Hooters in Ocala today at lunch. The Spelling Bee on half of the TVs and ESPN news on the other half. No USF shirts seen .. in the Spelling Bee on TV or at Hooters.
  7. Not an auction site. Merely a comment on an auction site auction... Any time I see Bulls stuff mixed in with Gator stuff - I get this queasy feeling, time for Pepto or Tums. I was just making sure it wasn't someone from the board.
  8. Actually, we commented on the whole LIDS thing not to long ago in this post: http://www.thebullspen.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=news;action=display;num=1083252708;start=3#3 I like the LIDS ad at the top of the thebullspen screen also. Does the board get a little action for the click thru purchase of the hats?
  9. Glad you and your roommate are safe. You can always get more stuff. Any idea on cause?
  10. One Question. . . What is this person thinking? Bucs Shirt, Bull Shirt, Gator Shirt ?!? "UF Gators Polo is orange, large and was only worn / washed once. USF Bulls polo is yellow, large and was also worn / washed only once. The BUCS shirt is red, large and I am not sure how often this shirt was worn / washed, but it is in GREAT condition!!! No rips, tears and stains applies to all three shirts:-) " Here is the listing: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=21219&item=3680547359&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW
  11. No. I just want USF panels ! ! ! As previously posted... http://www.thebullspen.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=news;action=display;num=1084149956;start=0#0 Please notice that SYRACUSE has panels in that post. So many other teams already have em, but we don't. I want beverage equality! Where are our merchandise folks? These folks have em UAB Bama Auburn Baylor Cincinnati Duke Florida Florida State Georgia GT Iowa Kansas Michigan Miss State Nebraska NC Ohio State Oklahoma Oklahoma State Penn State Tennessee TCU Texas Wisconsin Are we not worthy of the same? Give me panels. I know this is not the ideal post, but things are slow. bullo12- Please tell me you are coming to the Luncheon?

  14. Outback Bloomin’ Onion Dome? Hooters Dome? Checkers Big Bufford Dome? Beef'O'Brady's Dome? Fuente Opus X Dome? man, there are so many others that could work too.
  15. http://dwws.disney.go.com/wideworldofsports/ according to this website, even more options.
  16. Dare I say Baseball or Softball in St. Pete? Or to really stir it up a USF - UCF at Disney's Wide World of Sports? Why not really mix it up. http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/moreMagic/moreMagicGolfLanding?id=WideWorldOfSportsLandingPage
  17. What about for Marquel Blackwell, KAWIKA MITCHELL, and other searches?
  18. I think it was a smart move. Although, if the baby is born during the game, you have got to work Bull into the name somehow.
  19. Why it can work- (1) BCC has a large following in the area (2) USF Lakeland is being put together on a 500 acre piece of land as I understand it. A lot of community support is in the area, thus, engage the community. (3) 2300 students currently. Even larger number of alumni in area. (4) Quicker to get to from Orlando (5) Where is Publixs' HQ? Could you ask for a bigger sponsorship potential? I know some folks want to put down the "take the show on the road thing". . . that is your choice, I think it could be a smart move in the bigger picture. I remember how down everyone was about the spring football pep rally in St. Pete, again, if we played some sports over there once in a while, the community would feel more engaged. USF is not just Tampa. In spite of what some people would say.
  20. Having made the haul from Orlando to Lakeland today for the Polk Alumni Luncheon, here is my take of things. I sat less then 10 feet away from Coach Mac, who sat next to Pres. Genshaft. AD Woolard and his family were also at the same table. Being at the next table over provided me some time to watch and hear Coach Mac, the new AD and other folks. Based on what he said today, here is why my faith is up more now then ever. (1) Student Athletes. . . that is the focus, what proves it? Highest average GPA in recent history (like 10 years). Very high in comparision to NCAA averages. Also, no player will be taking summer school to "make it" they will be taking summer school to get ahead. All things considered here, that is impressive. You can argue athletic ability etc... on another post. The bottom line is these guys are students and for them to have the GPA to prove it shows focus on the part of the members of the team. (2) Recruiting. Looking good and sounding better. B E movement is driving this in a big way. (3) Improving community involvement. Which is becoming a bigger scope issue for the university as a whole. We will do some things with games that haven't been done ever in my memory as a Bull. Having a chance to watch Coach Mac has increased my faith that he can do things with our team. Just my 2 cents.
  21. As it is the off season. . . . I am taking the time to prep the house for hosting some USF get togethers. I am looking for all the necessary gear for the ultimate party... Here are couple items on the potential list. I am looking for some other suggestions Home Depot / Maytag offer The SkyBoxâ„¢ Personal Beverage Vendor by Maytagâ„¢; however, no Bulls panels are available yet. The obligatory HDTV probably in the 52 inch range (hopefully in a month or two)... Already have the stanless steel grill outside. 20 inch TV on the patio, mini fridge outside... Bulls Christmas Lights with the old logo. Bulls Flag with new logo. Wifi in the house to roadrunner so the laptops can be pulling the stats and what not. What other items would you add to the list?
  22. bulls96g0- Most certainly, if folks are coming through Orlando. Please let me know. cubanbull- I don't know how things are in Miami but the Alumni Association hadn't done anything in Orlando for over three years. The first thing I would recommend would be getting a list from Ted of current Alumni. I would also consider getting ahold of Eric from Bulls Club. So far peoples interest in USF sports have driven efforts here more than interest in the Alumni Association. It may not work there, but it certainly seems to be the way things are working here. Word of mouth has done alot so far too. Network with your fellow bulls. If you want, send me an e-mail @ kkrause@worldnet.att.net and I will give you the run down of how things have been going.
