  1. Turn out has been light for these events. I am working with the Alumni Assoc. and also with the Bulls Club to spread the word. I have made contact with over 30 alums personally. It is going to take some time to rebuild things here. This was a bad week, some folks on a cruise, some others were buying a house. I actually had more contacts at the UCF-USF baseball game on Tuesday. I will keep doing them though. We are shooting for a luncheon event next month.
  2. This game is going to be a roaster. 4 PM at the start of September. Bakery.
  3. Keep an eye on the other board... http://www.thebullspen.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=2;action=display;num=1083724081
  4. Now that I know where the fields are on the campus . . . .Anyone going? If you are, please let me know. Fri 5/7 at UCF 2 PM Fri 5/7 at UCF 4 PM
  5. Having read this board for a while . . . . you do not know what kind of a fan someone is until you see them. I must say, The Sheriff is a monster Bulls fan. He is not the typical Bulls fan- good, bad, right or wrong. The license plate on the truck the folks rode over in says it all. I am glad I got the chance to meet him and I am sure the UCF folks will be happier not to have him there again. Yes we won the series and Yes, USF lost last night. I do find it interesting that when the same things happen in Tampa, no UCF fans are ejected. That is according to the parents that were at last nights game and had went to the games in Tampa. Thanks to all who showed up. I hope to be doing more tailgates next year.
  6. May 3, 2004 St. Louis AD Becomes Fourth USF Finalist By BRETT McMURPHY bmcmurphy@tampatrib.com TAMPA - Saint Louis athletic director Doug Woolard has been named a fourth finalist for the University of South Florida AD position. Woolard, who has been at Saint Louis since 1994, will interview for the position on Wednesday. Former Air Force AD Randy Spetman interviewed with USF officials last week, Virginia senior associate AD Jon Oliver interviewed today and Michigan State associate AD Mark Hollis will interview Tuesday. Before becoming AD at Saint Louis, Woolard, 54, was an associate AD at Washington State for six years. This story can be found at: http://bulls.tbo.com/bulls/MGAREAM4TTD.html
  7. Thursday May 6, 2004 7:00 PM USF Alumni Association Planning Meeting Beef'O'Brady's 13750 West Colonial Drive, Suite 130 Winter Garden, FL 34787 407-654-5730
  8. Well, my other half had to go outta town. I will be there by myself. Hope to see some folks from the board.
  9. The Orlando Sentinel underestimates us every year, it is the best thing. They say we will do poorly and we seem to do fine... when the start saying we are a 'sure thing' - then I am going to be scared.
  10. Plus, folks need to plan for vacations and cruises and what not. Keep it where it is unless of course ESPN goes to both schools and twists arms and hands bigger checks out... damm vicious circles.
  11. You sure it wasn't because they couldn't get take out? http://www.thebullspen.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=news;action=display;num=1082668284
  12. I always wear something USF-ish when I travel. You never know where you will run into a Bulls fan. No LIDS spotted on my way through MSP Airport. I did get a few questions, eh, from MSU Mavericks fans while I was down in Mankato. It would seem we have some sort of distance cousins up there or something...eh http://www.msumavericks.com/
  13. In the midst of my travels last weekend, I couldn't help but notice the wide variety of USF Hats with the new logo from the folks @ LIDS. If you are flying through, please check em out. http://www.orlandoairports.net:/goaa/images/shops/Lids_LS.jpg There was no LIDS store or hat store period in Concourse C when I was connecting in Cincinnati. http://www.cvgairport.com/terminals/index.shtml However, a few UC Bearcats did take notice of my USF logo'd Hat and Attache Case.
  14. ditto. I am surprised they don't have more wallpaper, screen savers, etc....
  15. Today is the last of this months get togethers. Thursday April 29, 2004 7:00 PM USF Alumni Association 'Meet and Greet' Happy Hour Beef'O'Brady's 3030 Lake Washington Road Melbourne, FL 32935 321-751-3860
  16. My question would be "who picks the numbers for the store jerseys?" I can find the newer #7 and the older retro #14 but where do we have to go to get other #s?
  17. The one I had one time in Fort Lauderdale was a hamburger with all that stuff piled on - no fried egg. So fries, slaw, etc... on the italian bread. They had good pizza also, but were out of Iron City Beer... http://www.pittsburghbrewingco.com/
  18. I think it has more to do with scheduling sandwich deliveries from Primanti Brothers in Fort Lauderdale than with TV schedules. For those who haven't had one... it is a must. The story behind the sandwich http://www.primantibrothers.com/realstory.htm Locations... http://www.primantibrothers.com/locations.htm Anyone coming up from Fort Lauderdale for the game could sell these to the Pitt fans and pay for their trip.
  19. Ok. Everyone is saying how high these are... what is the 'sweet spot' $250? $150? $100? At what number would you pay and play? Just curious.
  20. We will be canon fodder unless the support for the program comes on strong. Granted, I am more of a football kind of person but we will need to boost the program moving into the Big East. We are moving into a serious basketball conference and I will be making the drive for some of the games. Gotta show the support.
  21. I know there were some real game jerseys given out at some of the TV watch parties last year. Or are you looking for one you can buy in the stores? Like so - - - http://sportsfanatticshop.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=SF&Product_Code=OT-M-USF
  22. in college football not even on most folks radar screens yet. I get a lot of "who-s-f?" and "where?" and "you have football?" when I am on the road. if not how long will it take to get there? 10 years, less if ideal conditions exist and what will it take to get there? money, recruiting, big wins, alumni involvement (see money), smazza getting cheap flights from LAX what benchmarks do we have to hit and why? beat an SEC team, beat other national level programs, bowls, titles, more time on espn i believe we are there now, and how long we will stay there may be a more important question.
