  1. Sheriff, You were not at that CINCYvsUSF game, so please dont say that Huggins called off the dogs. That has to be one of the most ridiculous things that you have said. Since you were watching the game on TV, you didnt notice Huggins getting into his players faces late in the second half. You could hear Huggins yell, WAKE UP!!!!! to his players.  Sure Cincy may have not been up for that game, but I can tell you that Huggins did not take it easy on USF like you state. If he did, he would have brought his walk on in the game early named Meeker. As for Seth, he just proved the main reason I am glad he is not at USF right now. He embarrassed his team last night by getting ejected once again. Brought back memories of that ECU game in where Seth made a big fool out of himself. MM, I am glad the Hokie fans are happy thus far. What they dont know is that they will never get to the next level under Seth.  I as a USF fan have lived what they are going to go through. Being an average team will get boring to those  fans and they will call for Seth's head just like USF did while he was here.  Now, Seth is starting to piss off the offficials in the ACC which is a bad move. He did the same thing here at USF, and sure enough we would not get calls from the officials because I believe they got tired of Seth's attitude. Seth should have taken the beating like a man and kept him in the game instead of getting ejected. What a poor example to show to your team. It wont be long before Seth's recruits at VaTech learn from Seth's attitude and then the program will go down hill.
  2. And to add some more info. Coach McCullum said that Leather's conduct right after the Cincy game was the reason why he was suspended. So it was not for missing practice or showing up late. My guess is that Leather did not see eye to eye with the coaching staff during that game.
  3. Sheriff, I am glad you brought up Keifer and the mens soccer program. He has really kicked some azz in recruiting in bringing some great talent to USF. Hopefully, we will be more matured this season and play better down the stretch. USF football and basketball may struggle, but at least our other programs are doing better.
  4. Not sure that I would want USF to do it the UF way. Isnt Billy close to getting the NCAA to investigate their program for too many benefits to the players?? Anway, Miami is a better blueprint to follow because they were in the BIG EAST and had some success. They made the sweet 16 around the year 2000 I believe. The thing about basketball is that you dont have to recruit the best players to have a success year. Making the BIG DANCE would be a very success year for USF. Hell, I will take a bid to the NIT right now. I truley believe the BIG EAST and renovating the SUN DOME will help big time.
  5. The turn overs against UAFN does not bother me at all. I believe we played better on the road then we played the last two games against Houston and CINCY. We will beat USM. If we turn over the ball against USM, then I would be more concerned. UAB is a good defensive team that makes you turn the ball over. I am willing to bet that Mosley would have helped.
  6. Miami and Florida St have done well for theirselves at recruiting. I believe the recruiting will get easier since we are heading ot the BIG EAST. Also, I believe the SUN DONE renovations should help because kids love to see the big score boards with their names and stats on them. They dont want to see some old fashioned score board that has no video replays. The additions of the video scorboards are long overdue IMO. Even TULANE and ECU have video score boards in their dumpy crack jack box arenas.
  7. I agree. We played better. Maybe having Leather suspended was a blessing in disguise for other players like Dennis. I like our chances now at getting to the C-USA tourny.
  8. I am keeping it short and simple to please Velcro and Mike G. USF played hard tonight. I am proud of them. We did better on FTs. I am not joining the DARKSIDE right now after that gutsy game. GO BULLS!!! BEAT THE BEAGLES FROM USM!!!
  9. MikeB, That would be cool as hell if you traveled all the way from Baton Rouge to see a Spring Game. Love the dedication that you have. Keep it up. In time, I hope more USF alumni dedicate theirselves to USF athletics. GO BULLS!!!
  10. Will this be the game that VADERBULL shows up in the chat room? As I recall, I remember the UAB game about three years ago when BASKETBULL tranformed into VADERBULL right before us in the chat room. LOL. It was a bad UAB team coached by Murray Bartow that USF got creamed by. All the fans were really upset at Seth for that terrible performance. Ah, the good ole memories of the game chat room. I will see you there tonight.
  11. Brad, I am going to lump Leavitt in there as well as a coach that has yet to do anything at the 1A level. Sure his recruiting is doing well the past few years, but there are zero bowl games to show for it. Right now, the best coaches at USF have to be Coach Erikson, the sailing coach, Coach Barr, and maybe the Track and Field&Golf coaches. The pressure is going to be on all these coaches now that the BIG EAST is here. If Cardieri cant win in the BIG EAST then there are some problems. If Coach Fernandez does not get into the NCAAs then it is a failure this season IMO. What is fair is fair.
  12. I am just telling you like it is. The women's team has never amounted to anything in their history. Jose took over a worse rebuilding job after the Winters fiasco, yet he gets top recruiting classes. How did he do that??? That is why Jose gets the break. Right now, McCullum is not pulling in the recruiting classes that we need to compete in the BIG EAST while Jose is. Jose's team took UCONN into overtime on the road. Did McCullum ever give Cincy a struggle?? I watched Cincy play, and they are not that good. Trust me. On top of that Cincy was on the road with a late arriving flight that came in at 2am from Cincy. I watched that Cincy game three times thus far to see that Cincy was very sluggish, yet USF failed to give them a game. I was embarrassed by the teams effort in that game to say the least. I made the bold prediction by saying that McCullum's team will never get blown out again like last season. Well, I was wrong on that account. I am just saying that I am willing to give McCullum two more years before I call for a change. The players getting suspended and leaving has to stop or McCullum will not last at USF.
  13. Camon was better on special teams play. He just was not made out to be a safety IMO. I knew going into that season that USF would miss JR Reed. Those shoes were too big to fill for Camon. I know he played his heart out, but sometimes you have to have more than heart.
  14. Sadly, I dont see anyone stepping up on offense tonight besides Swift. Until I am proven wrong, I will keep feeling that way. If anyone has the chance to step up tonight it will have to be Prek. Prek is my dark horse to be the other scoring option besides Swift.
  15. Sheriff, McCullum has had enough time of being an assistant coach. As you should know, McCullum was a long time assistant under Lon Kruger at both Florida and Illinois. That Florida basketball team when to the Final Four under Kruger back in the early 90's. McCullum had a good coaching record at Western Michigan. If you are going to say that about McCullum, then you might as well have said the same thing about Seth. Anyway, McCullum is a gamble that we needed to take. A lot of the coaches did not want to coach at USF because of the major rebuilding job they noticed. Please dont tell me that Seth left the program in good hands before he left because he didnt. If he would have left USF basketball in good shape, a lot of coaches would have been trying to get the job. Dont you think that those coaches would have known more than us??? Give McCullum props for taking the challenge because USF basketball has not done nothing since 1992. Sad but true.
  16. smazza, How can anyone expect much from USF after last seasons performance?? We are what we are right now.
  17. **** it Mike G, If you would actually read my posts, you would notice that I have defended McCullum since he has stepped foot at USF. Now I am just calling as I see it. Go ask Beastie and the Sheriff if I rip McCullum everytime we lose a game. As I said before, I dont mind the loses just the way we lose the games. The Houston and Cincy games were the worse this year IMO. Your opinion is that USF is supposed to bend over and take it from the Cincy's of the world. Well guess what, THE BIG EAST will have about 12 Cincys in that conference. What hurts is that this team is better than this, so you cant use that lame excuse in that we dont have the players. That is such BS. It shouldnt take that long to improve a basketball program. See: Houston, TCU, UAB, MIAMI, DEPAUL, etc. Giving McCullum two more years after this one if plenty IMO. If he cant turn it around by then, it is time to find a coach that will come in here and take the USF basketball challenge. I know things will get better because I have faith that Woolard wont stand for not getting better. The Carbondale kid will get things done.
  18. Jose will get better. Dont forget that we are still pretty young and have done some good things already. The goal is to get into that NCAA. GO LADY BULLS!!!
  19. If you want to ignore the bad play of the USF offense then that is your problem. I think you are missing my point about the Cincy game. It was not that we lost to Cincy, but how we lost that is concerning to me. We scored a lousy 15 first half points in that first half leaving many points on the board by missed FTs. The same problems Seth had are not starting to show up for McCullums program. Missed FTs and missed layups. The team now looks lost out there on the court IMO. Was it the close lost that we had to an overrated Marquette that caused this team to lose focus??? You cant deny that USF was playing better basketball earlier this season than they are now. The Houston game had to be one of the worse games that I have watched this team play this season outside the Cincy game. Houston is good, but they should not be that good. Go back and watch that game as I have three times already. Go back and notice how many open shots that we missed against Houston. We should have won that game or at least made it closer. Look Velcro, my mission is the knock over that half full glass that you have. If Beastie cant do it, I will give it a shot and see what happens. LOL.
  20. The question is why is the star player getting suspended?? That is a terrible way to show your senior leadership to the rest of this rebuilding program. This suspension to Leather hurts worse than any games that we lost this season. This program needs wins because the team is starting to point fingers. I know Doug Woolard wont stand for this. After seeing that the fans will support a winner in basketball, I believe Woolard will make sure USF starts winning whether it is with McCullum or not.
  21. velcro, Houston beat UL at home. Houston had a big road conference losing streak until they beat USF. Anyway, it was not that we lost that game, it was how we lost that game. Sure Houston plays good defense, but noone from USF really stepped up when Swift and Leather went down. And to add insult to injury, Houston was a bad team last season, but now they are good under their new coach that is rebuilding. What gives??? Hate to say it, but I believe McCullum is regreting about kicking off all those players since he has got here. I will give McCullum two more years to see what happens, but I want to see us make the FTS and layups. Also, I want to see us make some more open shots. I know this team has ablility to shoot because they did earlier this season against easier competition. Hell, Mich and South Carolina are no slouches and we shot well against them. I believe this coaching staff needs to work hard to get both Holmes and Dennis back on track. They need them to play better, so that Leather can make his shots. Can this coaching staff do it this year??? We will see.
  22. velcro, So are you saying that USF will continue to miss FTs everytime we play a decent team??? USF will continue to miss layups?? Continue to miss wide open shots?? Continue to bobble passes??? Continue to get in foul trouble?? Continue to have players suspended??? Continue to have noone score besides Leather and Swift?? If those aspects dont change, we will not qualify for the C-USA tourny. I dont know about you, but I expected USF to make the C-USA tourny at least. I believe this season is lost. I am not sure McCullum can turn this program around this season. The damage was already done during the Houston game. The team stopped beign a team as McCullum correctly put it in his post game comments. I dont know what will bring this team back together. Maybe suspended Leather will force someone else to step up and help this team get back together. As you know, I hurt too bad when USF is struggling. I take USF to heart too much. I maybe should not do that, but I just cant help myself sometimes. Some people will go out and enjoy their Saturday, while I will be staying home listening to tonights game. Whether it provides me more suffering or joy is anyones guess. If I am a betting man, I would bet that I will be suffering some more after tonights game.
  23. I guess there is no curse because we have not even came close to winning a title. So in essense, there is no curse when you look at those things. I will just stick with the fact that McCullum is losing control of this team. Velcro, why were there so many players pointing fingers at each other during the HOUSTON game??? Are you going to give us some of that optimism on that or are you going to realise that this team is done?? I expect USF to get blow out again tonight against UAB. A close loss on the road is not really possible because UAB is just too much better than USF right now. I will still listen and hope that USF can win, but I am not expecting much for the rest of the season. If I am wrong about this,(which I hope I am), then McCullum is one hell of a coach to be able to turn the team around. Lets hope I am wrong about this team. I was really wrong about this team after those close losses to Mich, S Car, UAB, Marq. GO BULLS!!!
  24. Velcro, Then what about the terrible effort against Houston?? What about the suspension to Leather?? What about noone else being able to score besides Swift and Leather. This team went from competing with UAB, MICH, MARQ, etc to playing like crap against Memphis, Houston, and Cincy. And news to you, Cincy did not really play all that well IMO. Cincy had a late flight into Tampa that was delayed until 2am. Cincy played sluggish on offense which gave USF a chance if anyone could just score. The offense is looking real bad. The missed FTs for the last three games is inexcusable. The CINCY players were not defending the FTs. Those missed FTs are a big concern that has to put the coaching staff to blame. What I am saying is that this team cant afford to miss FTs and miss layups if they want to compete with the better teams. There was no excuse for USF getting blown out in that game. I will have you know that USF played much better against Cincy on the road last season.
